Rosemary was surprised that the creature had sniffed her out. Apparently her lingering odor hadn't completely vanished yet. She didn't much like having lots of fire blown in her direction. She moved to avoid it of course, but all it did was heat up the air and changed a bunch of it to carbon monoxide or dioxide...and made it feel like she had burned the side of her arm by some cooking accident. In retaliation all the air molecules around the creature moved away, since most creatures needed air to breathe to survive she tested that on this one.
Veni on the other hand would normally run away from the scene through the shadows like he's done before with some fiery demon Heegh sent at him once, but at the moment he was at a loss of if he should or shouldn't do that for he wasn't exactly very useful at the moment. He also worried about too many things becoming very bright and highly limiting where he could go.

From the cracks bellow their feet some more gelatinous slime slid up and carefully crawled onto the distracted Milaku's shoes and tried to become spikes and send them through her feet and lower legs.

Veni, if you don't think you can fight safely enough, stay hidden!
*ShhhhhhINK!*
Milaku yelped out in pain as spiked stabbed through her flesh and bone, blood splattering onto the cobblestone bridge. She was impaled to the ground by sinister, chuckling shape shifters. With glaring eyes, she unfolded her strange, demonic and angelic wings, the tips of which grew immediately razor sharp and sliced through the spikes and tendrils of the black ooze-like demons. She then stabbed them with these wings, this time flowing holy essence through them that caused them to sizzle and pop, evaporating into the air as they were scorched by their powerful weakness.
The larger demon seemed to laugh at what Rosemary was doing... apparently this one, along with the shape shifters, didn't really need air, nor did the strange magical Hell-Fire that burned around them.
Sephiroth's efforts were not entirely in vain. A number of the demons screeched as they splattered onto the stones, and some of his attacks made it to the larger demon, injuring it a bit as a few of it's fingers fell off, splashing to the ground. The thing snarled, it's slimy mouth opening wide as it vomited a large fireball full of some unknown substance onto the bridge. The fireball quickly expanded, throbbing with some strange pulse, until it violently exploded, shattering the entire bridge into rubble and sending it's occupants flying from the blast.

Gag post
The blast sent certain occupants away from the battle. Higher and higher and farther away they went until a little ping in the sky was made. As they flew Sephiroth said, "we're blasting off again!"

The unentional effect of that blast was that it sent most of the party away from the majority of the monsters in the battle. While flying through the air mostly unharmed, for the blast mostly affected their shields, Sephiroth thought towards Thas Milaku used Holy energy against one of the demons and it was highly effective. If Rosemary wasn't as terrified of fire she could easily take all the smaller ones out. He didn't blame her, he knew several incidents led up to a greater fear of it. You're supposed to direct me, so tell me what I can do now or shall I continue as is?
(Thas)Do what you must to destroy that monster. Holding back would have proven beneficial in keeping our stealth in some ways, but it would be moot if we're killed or captured...
One of my faults is holding back all the time. He thought and now had his wings folded under his coat and cloak as he worked on landing as gracefully as possible. Once steady on his feet he focused that energy into his blade and gave it a more holy property than usual and did one 180 degree swing with it sending out a 12ft or so long energy slash before bringing his blade back in the ready stance in both hands with his left arm higher than the right and charging in behind the wave.

The demon roared as the energy cut into it's disgustingly slimly flesh, parts of it burning with the opposite of the Hell-Fire that seemed to come from it. Black liquid sprayed excessively from the holy induced wound. As Sephiroth rushed in though, grimy tendrils reached out and snagged him, pulling him into the beast's innards, were they quickly tried to ensnare and bind him.
Thas and the others quickly went on the attack, fighting through the other demons to get to Sephiroth. From the nearby murky pools of water near the destroyed bridge, Jacob manipulated it with his rarely seen aquamancer skills, as Thas used Heaven's power to bless it. It was an idea that in hindsight, Jacob wished he'd thought of earlier, as the water became suddenly cleansed, the filthy falling out of the stream of now holy liquid as it splashed all over the larger demon. This, along with the struggles Sephiroth probably provided against the grotesque creature, caused the demon to groan as it melted and evaporated into a thick, large puddle of bubbling sludge.

Sephiroth came walking back with a mostly clean cloak again thanks to all the water that rained down on him. When he got up close to them he removed his hood and said, "what a suspiciously large blessed area in a mostly forsaken world. Is anyone able to undo that? How are your legs?" The last question directed at Milaku.

(Milaku) "I'm fine... nothing a touch of healing potion and the DNA of my father can't handle really. As for this area of now blessed land, it WOULD draw attention. I believe I can do something about it though, but we must move quickly. No doubt that battle didn't go entirely unnoticed."
Suddenly there was a bit of a disturbing, dark, depressive aura filling the air, Milaku's head bowed in concentration. When she lifted her head again, her face was bleeding black demonic blood from empty eye sockets, her voice muttering unnatural things. The previously white feathers on her half angel/half demon wings turned grey, then a solid black as several of them flitted off, growing in mass and changing into a shapeless cloud. The cloud swirled around the area rapidly, neutralizing itself with the remnants of the holy water, eventually turning the land back into the desolate wasteland. No hint remained of the blessed water or their effects. The grotesque, and even unappealing to the vampires blood that oozed from Milaku's face suddenly drew back into hidden pores, and her eyes seemed to grow back from a celluar stage, blood vessels wrapping around forming whites. Soon her face was back to normal, as well as her wings, the feathers returning to their usual white color.
"That was VERY uncomfortable to do. I did not enjoy it, but it was necessary to preserve ourselves and our mission. Let's move over that ruined bridge then..."
It was somewhat noticable that Milaku hugged herself slightly while those that could, flew over the gap left by the destroyed bridge, and others used the ability of the armored suits they wore to hover past it.

"So... you don't get to benefit from that energy you just drained?" Asked Sephiroth looking somewhat sickly. He got that water all over him so it had to be neutralized too. He put his hood back on, powered down, and vanished once more.

Not even five minutes later the group heard a thud not very far behind them. Upon looking to where the noise came from, they discovered a black hunter demon face first on the ground with a shadow figure on top of it and claw through its neck and upwards into its head. It hadn't known what hit it.

Milaku shook her head at Sephiroth's question.
"No, not unless there were some minor demons nearby. It would have placed them under my control, and given me some of their life essence in return. Stronger ones would be able to resist "
At the thud of the black hunter's corpse, Milaku sighed and placed her hand over her face. Jacob swore in his mind and gritted his teeth.
(Jacob)Nice work Veni. Though it's not your fault, now we'll have to hurry it up out of this area.

The Veni shadow grinned with needle like teeth and made the creature vanish into storage.
Rosemary appeared and grabbed Jacob and flew into the low cast clouds since she didn't really sense anything in them and worked at getting them out quickly. She didn't really like hunters, though wouldn't mind to try certain weapons she had against their thick carapaces.

Rosemary Mori generated a random number between
5 and 24 ...
20!

Whatever the random number may be is the number of hunters within range.

It turned out there were 20 hunters within range of that hunter's death and within minutes they started to arrive at the spot the others just flew away from as fast as they could... well as fast as the slowest of them since Rosemary could probably go faster. But the wind and the cover was with them and so was a spell that was like one big adrenalin rush.
Jacob now received a kiss on his neck from the now hidden in his garments Veni.
