Elodie woke slowly her hair a horrible mess over her eyes. Shoving at it with her hands she finally managed to get it back and away.
Slowly she slid over to the side of her bad and sat up putting her feet on the floor.
Rubbing her face she checked her clock.
It had only been AN HOUR.
She'd just worked straight for 18. She should be out like a light - involuntarily- for at least the next 10 or 12!
What on earth was going on??
Sighing she headed for the kitchen to see if maybe she was hungry. She should of known it hadn't been that long ..her hair was still damp around her neck and on her shoulders.

Mark didn't move, or pull anything out. He sat silently, gazing straight ahead as though lost in thought, but he nodded along when Miranda spoke. "Okay," he said quietly. "So what do you need me to do? Should I touch it as well, or..." He trailed off, looking a little edgy.

It had been uncomfortable at best for him to use his powers every time. He didn't go into the kind of agony and convulsions that Cybil did, but it wasn't pleasant and he really didn't like it.

He would do it. For them. To banish what had to be banished.

But he didn't have to enjoy it.

Tilting his head, he waited for instruction from Miranda about the sheet. What did he have to do to help?

Miranda seemed kind of nervous about ordering Mark around. She took a deep, forcing herself to relax. "I want to try something, something that I don't know if it'll work." She explained hesitantly. She shifted so she was facing Mark, their knees almost touching. "I want to try combining our powers. You can find things right? Objects, people, places, things that are or will be important. I want to see if we can find something then use my power to build a vision around it. To get a better idea of when and where." She gazed down at her crystal sheet. "I need you to focus. To try and see whatever it is in the crystal." She honestly had no idea if this would work or not.

Elodie shook out her hair and flipped on the TV. Her aunt had satellite and a ridiculous number of channels, which was odd as the woman barely watched anything other than National Geographic. Elodie then, often adopted the random scan and adopt technique. She could watch anything other than animals eating other animals and reality TV.

Flipping through, she found a martial arts movie, an old one. She sighed and settled back to watch, hopefully she'd fall asleep to the Mandarin or whatever was playing, it was all plain as day to her anyway.

Mark listened silently while Miranda explained herself, then he simply nodded. "I can find things," he replied, looking faraway already. "I will try." It was a half-hearted statement at best, but he reached out and gently touched his fingertips to the crystal.

It was a sudden torrent of images, like a set of pictures being thrown around in his brain. First, pictures of the plate - where it had been, where it had come from. He wondered if Miranda knew the history of this thing - so old. So lovely. Where had she gotten it?

He pushed that aside, tried to pick the one picture out of the flurry of mental Polaroids. And he picked one up, and he looked at it.

His voice was slurred and sleepy. "She's there. She's writing in her notebook. We need the journal. She wants us to have the journal. We want to have it. They want us not to have it. But she does, Abigail does. Writing in her notebook. Look, Miranda. Look."

Miranda flinched back from the sudden onslaught of images before she made her self focus again. She took a deep breath and stared into the smoky crystal, watching as Mark picked through the images. "I see it." She murmured, her voice soft and distant, as if the image didn't really matter.

She focused on the image Mark had shown her, seeking to build off of it. She'd never done this before but she treated it just like seeking a normal vision. After a moment, the picture Mark had grabbed became a movie. A small smile worked it's way onto her face as she watched. Abigail, writing in her notebook, began moving, scribbling away. She continuously glanced over her shoulder, as if expecting something bad. She looked tense and hurried as she wrote down the words. Miranda focused, keeping the vision as long as she could though she knew it would give her a headache. Judging from the place in the book, this would be one of Abigail's last entries, if not the last. And if this was the last one, then Miranda wanted to know where the journal had gone from there.

Elodie wavered back and forth between wakefulness and some sort of living death. She heard her aunt come home and turned her head as she heard a large 'thunk' from the kitchen counter.
Yup , it was her aunt alright, same long dark - oddly familiar- curly hair. Same oversize purple purse- new cardboard box on the counter.

That must have been the thunk. Judging by the amount of humming emanating in an endless stream from her aunt, it was probably from another estate sale.

Dragging herself up she angled for the kitchen island and one of its matching stools, within poking range of the box, and possibly pity range of her aunt, who might just find it within her heart to make the poor, obviously sleep deprived girl some hot chocolate and cheese whiz toast. Despite said girl's pretend derision for her love of estate sale junk.

Her aunt reached over to ruffle Elodie's hair; and as the poor girls' head was still damp as well as lying on her arms on the kitchen counter, her aunt did indeed take pity and turned on the kettle. Watching a small spark come alive in her nieces eyes at the prospect of being babied never really got old.

((OOC: Ded Silent is ded. emo School is hard.))

Mark didn't have much to do after this. He really just had to hold the picture steady so that Miranda could do her searching. After several minutes, he murmured sleepily, "Dun think you'll find much more there. There's another picture right after it, though. Wanna see it?"

Still holding the original picture, he used the rest of his mental range to scan through the hundreds of inner Polaroids. A few of his own slipped in there - pictures from his own past and present. The boy didn't seem to notice them.

Picking up another image, he waited for Miranda to confirm or deny the new picture. He wasn't going to push it on her when she was still working with the original. It would hurt her.

Do it, a sly voice whispered in a corner of his mind. Do it. What business does she have, pushing you around? She deserves the hurt. Do it.

Mark stiffened, went pale. Cybil, sitting at her computer, heard his faint sound. She turned her head and got up - his eyes were too dark. Firmly, she placed her hands on his shoulders--

And the entire vision, extra Polaroids and all, went ratcheting up at least ten notches. It was as though they were in the room with the woman who sat writing at the table. With Abigail.

And Abigail's head was lifting, and she was beginning to look over her shoulder - at where they were.

Shocked, Cybil pulled her hands away, and immediately they were back in her room. "I...what?" she whispered, as though not to be overheard. "What the hell just happened?"

((Aw.....Poor Silent.....*hands cookie*))

Miranda continued focusing on the original picture as Mark searched for a new one. She tried to see as much as she could, unaware of the danger she was in from Mark. She was about to give up and move on to the next picture when she distantly felt Cybil touching Mark. While the contact didn't really matter in her mind, the results certain did. She let out a small gasp as the picture shifted.

It was over almost as soon as it started though. Miranda lost the vision image, staring at Cybil. "What in the world did you do?" She asked in an awed whisper. She ignored the first signs of a headache she knew she would pay for later. For right now though, figuring out what had just happened was more important. "It was.....It was like we were there! With her!"
