It was a DAMN good thing Bul wasn't there.

Pepin watched silently in marvel over Miss Cricket's actions over Riley and let her eyes glaze over. She'd liked her fearhealing class but she'd never seen this wicked form she took and immediately thought of some of her favorite anime fantasies.

"I'm sorry that happened to you Xiu, no one should have to go through that." She frowned softly nodding gently towards the ghoul. "Odds are the extra daggers had something to do with it." She grew quiet again, watching Cricket and Jericho leaning over the still body of Riley.
What Cricket said next made her shiver, "Are you sure... are you sure that's safe Cri-" By the time she spoke up she was already at work. Suddenly she was splitting apart into multiple limbs mouths, thankfully Sammy had not consumed anything as her body mentally heaved at the image before her, Cricket or what ever Cricket WAS had now hunched over Riley's body chewing and consuming the flesh. The whole time she clinged to her left arm hoping Cricket wouldn't decide to eat something ELSE in the room afterwards.
"Holy Jack... this..." she doubled over her chair closing her eyes, that did little to help the sound of Cricket eating the flesh.

Malodore had been deliberately focusing on other things, trying to pen up its growing sense of worry behind a wall of detachment, but Pepin, Jericho, and Cricket's conversation had not escaped it. It looked up just in time to see Cricket change... and engulf Riley.
It tensed, its feathers jangling discordantly, but made no other movement. It trusted Nurse Cricket implicitly - the tension was entirely from its own fear. Fear that was threatening to overwhelm its defenses.

Jericho looked over at Cricket to catch the twisted grin before her jaw began to split. His eyes widened at the sight of it and he nearly stepped back. But no, he had to keep holding onto Riley so that she wouldnt' roll back onto her backside.
He didn't know what he was seeing, but it was freaky as hell. That aside, she was actually EATING the infected area.
"Cricket I don't know if.." he started, reflecting Sammy's thoughts as well. Eating the insanity? That couldn't be good for the Nurse. Then again, she was a lot stronger than they were so.. maybe she would be alright. The dragon didn't think on it for too long as the sounds of her eating away at Riley's flesh overtook the room. By Jack that was not something he wanted to really hear or see.
The Nurse must be able to harvest a healthy amount of FEAR with what she was able to do here. She certainly scared him.

Christof had concentrated on keeping his needle under control, working quickly to close the hole in Mort's side and then tend to his hand. Stupid Zomboil. He should be more careful. Content to be lost in his work, he had missed Jericho coming back in, and it wasn't until he had finished and glanced up to check on Amrita that he had seen where she had wandered to...
They were flipping Mistress to tend to her wounds. Stomach clenching tightly, the Igor gave his friend a quick bow before hopping down to hurry over. If they needed help- he swore he wouldn't try to hit anyone! He wanted to help, he *had* to help, he-
Froze in his spot at the sight of Cricket re-situating and bursting and twisting and getting ready to eat.
His face went greener than usual as he slunk quietly beside the dragon. It took a few moments to recover before he gingerly patted Jericho's shoulder, his expression wrought with apology for his earlier outburst. Hopefully he would understand. They were all a bit under duress.

Riley's body did not tense when it was engulfed by Cricket, nor did it react when the purple skin and blackened wound began disintegrating within the nurse's mouth. Still, as horrific as the scene was, it was clear that the tainted and corrupted flesh within the wound was being siphoned away, turning to mush within Cricket's digestive fluids and being slowly moved away from Riley's body, piece by piece. The flesh that remained was normal colored, bloody in the more natural red variety, and jagged from the bite marks of each gulp - instead of the smooth blackness that her wound had been a moment before.
It looked worse. But it was better. And that was progress - as disgusting as progress was.

Disgusting progress indeed. It would be several minutes before the nurse deemed her task finished and reassembled herself. The color of the ectoplasm of her body seemed to swirl with a deeper shade deep within it, but it seemed that for the most part, she'd devoured the problem, even as the mutated and twisted limbs reformed back into her body. There was definitely a reason why she wasn't....like that often, with or without the humanoid limbs she had.
Still, she now had something easier to work with, even as she set about working to reform the hole now that there was something worth healing..or rather, that she was able to heal. Sometimes she had to contribute to the problem in order to work away from it.
"Been a while since I last did that, I apologize if any of you need to....take a break from being in here to regain your stomachs." Her own stomach was mulling about the fact she'd actually ingested something at all. Then again, the last thing she'd eaten was a giant squ-..oh....

Sammy hiccuped slightly, she hadn't realized it but she had actually started breathing through her mouth during the whole process trying to calm what ever nerve in her dead gut was getting so twisted up about watching Cricket eat. It was funny considering how Sammy herself ate raw flesh and meat, without batting an eye, but this was something completely different.
"How did you.... I just...." she shook her head resting it on the chair for a moment, "So she should uh... be fine now? Once you stitch her whole...." She waved a single finger to gesture to the gaping hole still. "All that in?"

Seeing Christof approach, Jericho glanced to the side a little warily at the igor, not sure if he was going to be attacked again. It seemed that this wasn't the case. At the light pat, he nodded in understanding. In a way he kind of felt like he deserved that hit anyway.
Slowly, he looked back at Cricket in time to see her turn back to normal. Riley's wound was a lot messier now, but it looked more normal now that it didn't have that Insanity infecting her.
"She'll.. be alright now.. right?" he asked the Nurse before looking over at Sammy briefly. He soon looked to the Mindflayer, wondering if he could reach her more easily now.

Well, it wasn't cutting out, but it certainly did it's job! Amrita watched with horrified digust as the Nurse...ulp. One arm went around her stomach and the other hand pressed against her mouth. That was...that was horrific, even by Halloween standards!
The moment she realized Christof was nearby she was quickly at his side, hugging one of his arms and burying her face against his shoulder. Ugh that was gross, and this was her moment to regain her stomach.

The murmur of conversation stopped, and there was a second of quiet where nothing happened. Blood silently dripped from the open wound as Professor Cricket's FearHealing began to close the sides. But still, Riley lay there silently, until-
.. ct ..
.. ris ..
.. don't ..
Little tiny bursts of thought began to fill the minds of every single person in the room. There was no barriers, no filtering, it was just free thought echoing in the public mind, fragments of words that sounded as if they were being said miles away, coming closer by the second.
Several beats of silence fell. They were palpable, heavy, and slow.
Then her eyes snapped open.
INVICTUS. Riley's shout screamed in everyone's mind as she turned out of Jericho's arms and lurched up, gruesome hole-y chest and all, to reach out blindly with clawed hands. Her white pupils flashed a bloody red, before her eyelids fluttered closed again, and she fell limp back into Jericho's arms.

Anxiously, Jericho waited to see if there was any sort of response from the Mindflayer. At first there was nothing, and when he started hearing blurbs of words, he paused, trying to make sure he wasn't just imagining things. No, that was her alright. Though, it wasn't anything coherent right now. Shifting a bit in place, he glanced around, waiting for her thoughts to come together.
When she suddenly shouted Invictus's name, he jumped, startled. Oh Jack she was PISSED. He did what he could to try and keep her restrained and thankfully it didn't last for long before she flopped back down.
That wasn't quite what he had been expecting but it was far better than the still silence she was in earlier.
"Thank Jack..." he uttered as his wings sagged down, relaxing. She still needed healing, but he was feeling greatly more relieved about the situation.

Cricket moved, pressing her hand against the Mindflayer's forehead as she took a look over the scene, her own mind strangely clear even after all of the thoughts that had filtered into it.
It was a long moment, before she seemed to sigh.
"She'll wake up again. Let her rest. For now, she should stay here...." just in case, her voice seemed to imply, but she said nothing of that sort. She just contented herself on knowing that it seemed that the situation had improved - greatly. "If you wish to stay with her, I will allow it." she added.
((Meanwhile, Shehk was doing something, but Pach hadn't posted for her in forever and would feel awkward adding it in now. Whoops!)

Once the Christof situation had been fixed, Moure watched the plague doctor returning with his leg. When the doctor stood next to Moure's cot again, the Runner gave a sheepish nod. "T-that would be great. Thank you." He said to the question about repairing more. To the apology Moure said, "Don't worry about it. You couldn't have known Christof, uh, needed a weapon of some kind." Being Christof's neighbor, he was a little used to hearing of the strange things the Igor occasionally did, and taking someone's leg to use as a mallet actually didn't surprise Moure all too much, in retrospect.
When Cricket decided to eat(?) Riley, Moure was glad he didn't need such serious help. He'd take being taken apart over getting eaten by a giant who-even-whos-what of a teacher any day. Even though he was an undead, the sight of Cricket eating up Riley's wound was still hard to watch. Finally, he looked away, noticing that the plague doctor seemed especially tense as the 'healing' of Riley continued. Trying to somehow help the hat-wearing student, Moure quietly said, "I can probably fix the rest of myself if you can get one of my hands reattached. But if you want the distraction, you can fix up as much of me as you'd like." Moure knew how to fix himself once he had one hand (he'd been doing so for most of his life, after all), but if the doctor needed something to occupy his(?) time while Riley was being healed.
Then, Moure started to hear slight fragments of words, sounds, as if someone was projecting them. Recalling all he knew of Riley, Moure realized they were coming from the downed Mindflayer. Then came the mental shout, and Moure recoiled slightly, remembering just in time that his head wasn't completely attached, but not far enough for his head to start moving from it's precarious position. Moure glanced to the doctor at his side and quietly said, "If you want to go to her, feel free. I'm sure someone else can stitch me up."

Malodore had been about to answer Moure's statement about hand-repair when, suddenly, it heard it. Heard her. It stayed frozen at the patchwork's bedside as it tried to make sense of the scattered thoughts, unsure what to do, whether it should move or not-
And then she shouted and shifted, and Malodore didn't even hear Moure's reassurance. It was up and gone before the patchwork had finished speaking; there was only so much one plague doctor could take! "Mia cara," it cried out, shouldering past everyone save Jericho and Nurse Cricket herself to get to Riley's side. Only when it had reached her, holding out one shaking claw towards her, did it seem to come back to itself.
"Infermiera..." It turned to Cricket. "I am sorry, I will return to my duty soon, just... per favore."
