With a yelp, Nuru scrabbled to try and grab the upturned table too - with her teeth. The rest of her was flapping in the gold "current" and was battered by heavy coins. Eyes darting about in their present limited range to make sure first that the kid was okay and second that Zar was too.

She might just have to shift back soon - but she wasn't entirely sure she'd be much smaller or useful in her humanoid shape really.

Cass hit the ground with a 'thump' after her chest-assault worked, only for the floor..and the room.. and...

Cass's eyes were wide as she scrambled over to Marcus, clinging to him and sniffling in confusion as everything began to..sink..into the floor. She stared down at it, then moved, holding onto the boy's hand as she looked around, then at him.

"What do we do?" she really looked like she needed to follow his lead.

Eat her? Thackery tilted her head to one side, and back to the other. Unless she was made of spookies or mice crispy treats, that definitely wasn't going to happen.

She couldn't promise that none of the other students would be able to resist eating her. Or that none of them would try to attack her - the tiny things were fighting the students and the students were fighting the tiny things and it really made no sense. Why were they fighting when nobody even knew why they were here and what was going on?

"You're safe!" Thackery chimed, licking her cheek with the biggest doggy-grin she could manage. The tiny scareling even gave hugs! How could anyone hurt something like this!?

The content Cerberus would probably have basked in the hugfest forever had the room not started shaking, sending gold pooling around their feet. Stupid terrible gold, it ALWAYS did something awful! She watched on in panic as it attempted to swallow the scarelings up. Her tiny friend would definitely cry if that happened. And probably dissipate.

Thackery couldn't let that happen.

"Keep hugging, okay?"

As gently as she could, she picked her up in her mouth by her oversized shirt, depositing her carefully in the fluff on her back. Tripping and stumbling through the sea of shiny, she made her way to a nearby table, where she stood form and braced for the worst that the room could throw at them.

She may have been terrible at combat, but guarding was her specialty. And this little scareling seemed like she definitely needed a guard dog.

She had a massive headache now. All the screaming. Fighting.

"I...dunno what to tell you..." LW groaned at Fell, raising a hand to her head, covering at least one ear. "My head feels like it's going to explode at this rate."

The (s)he-wolf squinted towards a familiar black canine form. ....Really? They were friggin scarelings!

"Tybalt....!"

Then again, she had been considering something similar only a few seconds ago. Okay so maybe she wasn't one to judge right now. Like those ones that were close by and within easy (in theory) grasping reach-

"But Reeeen!" They were being so loud! Though, come to think of it. She normally wasn't this bothered by the young ones. Was this something else that her...gender bend had caused? Oh Jack give me boobs and a petite frame ASAP!

....and now the room was- No. LW just gave up trying to make sense of it and shifted into OH JACK WHY mode as she scrambled to keep from getting drowned by gold coins Her hand reached out and felt something solid and her nails dug in as she held on as tight as she could, muscles straining.

"R-Ren?!" Skulls! Where was he?!

"Yeah, don't worry, Harrison, we can totally..." Candace got spanked. Clarice began to giggle until she heard her name repeated by the bluish demon girl. Alas, there was no time to mean mug and b***h plz...

...as suddenly she was Scrooge McDucking through a veritable sea of gold coins. This was sadly not as awesome as it looked in the cartoon, and she was really beginning to question Disney's wisdom on encouraging such activities. The only thing that saved her was Raeg getting stuck in a table.

"Ah no!! AYUDAME POR FAVOR!!"

Chuppi's cries were loud as the coins started to swarm around him, drowning the poor little monster. He had been so concerned with the child that he hadn't even thought about himself. Now he was going to die.

As the coins began to rise, Siddie squeaked with dismay and tried to make his way over to the wall, looking for something to grab. Anything. The treasure was multiplying too fast, though - desperately, he stretched his arms out to let the scareling grab at a picture frame. "Hang on!" he urged, and let go. He wasn't going to take the chance of dragging the scareling down with him.

If he dissipated, that was one thing, but scarelings shouldn't have to deal with that.

And suddenly JD was buoyed up on a pile of treasure. He'd bodysurfed before, but this was RIDICULOUS -

and as he saw the predicaments some of his fellow students were in, dangerous. He grabbed onto a nearby frame hanging on the wall, and it glittered gilt gold at his touch.

He didn't want to die as a SHE. What if dissipating made it PERMANENT?

Eva, unfortunately, had not been so lucky as to avoid sinking into the gold. The fact that she was so short not did not help matters--to her alarm, the gold began to pull her in, and as much as she struggled--which was not a good idea in the first place--the faster is dragged her down.

The alarm built up in her, small at first, and then increasing with every second that she spent sinking downwards. Finally, for the first time since she had been turned into a child, the little girl burst out sobbing.

Barth's sense of self-preservation was strong, if not directed to really high things that would require jumping, like the ceiling. He buried one set of claws in a picture frame, and another found their way to Mandy's shirt.

...He was having trouble with the actual pulling part, though.

"H-help," he squeaked, realizing both sets of claws were stuck.

Gold began filling the room. Yin tried not to panic, merely moving her feet up to stand on top of the piles as they grew. But the piles kept growing and growing. At Miss Xiu-Ying's yell she looked around for something to grab onto, all the while getting higher and higher until finally...there. A chandelier was in reach and she latched onto it, trusting her upper body strength to keep her out of the mounds of gold.

Even if she did feel awfully unbalanced still. She eyed the rising gold...if it was magically it probably would not do any good to stuff some in her clothing for later. "I had never considered that having too much wealth would be one of my problems in life," she joked with a small smile. She was indeed feeling more brazen as a ghoul talking to a boil.

Gale had spent the past few minutes working on getting the goop out of his eyes, and, to his immense relief, finally got rid enough that his vision - thankfully - was officially unimpaired.

For all of two seconds, since the next midnight it was pure chaos.

Fortunately for Gale, as the avalanche of golden coins and trinkets came rumbling through, he managed to latch onto a set of curtains and old on for dear life, his grip slippery and slimy and making it very difficult to keep his grasp.

And he'd lost Bix somewhere too.

Dammit.

And then suddenly it was pandemonium.

The room was shaking and vibrating, a slow, clinking noise building until it was a deafening roar and everything was happening all at once. Screams and shouts echoed throughout the room, but it was difficult to hear anything over the thousands of gold coins multiplying right in front of their eyes.

Ren lost track of who he was with, slender, freckled feminine arms flailing as he tried to keep his head above the surge.

Where had everybody - there.

He could see her, just a short distance away, her clutching what looked to be a table. With a great deal of effort, Ren threw himself towards her, managing to latch onto LW's waist and wrapping his arms around her tightly.

"GAHHHHHHHHHH LW DON'T LET ME DROWN!"

Sparrow, along with Ren, had completely lost track of who he was with and where he was going - so when the explosion of gold and other priceless items came flooding towards him, he was very nearly swept away by all of it.

"ACKKkppttttthhppptttt - "

When he finally surfaced again, he could make out that female - er, male - female - whoever - that had been with LW, and Sparrow's fingers found one of her wrists, latching onto it.

"So sorry to be so forward, but might I hang onto you for a bit so I don't drown in all of this gold."
