**Mortal Recoil (Blood's Trial, Part II)**(finished)

((*sniff* me too.))

Blood sighed. "It's hard to explain. Whenever I got into the frenzy for killing, something... changed me. I end up doings things I didn't want to, and later, regretted. My niece and nephew didn't deserve what I gave them, and when you allowed me, I loved them." He blinked away some tears, sighing. "I wanted to be part of their lives, but now I can never have that because of something I did... I don't think it'll redeem me, but I would've given them everything. They were pure..." He began to break down. "Their lives could've been a thousand times better than mine ever could..." He shook his head. "Nothing I can ever do will redeem me."

Rain looked at him, confused, though no longer sure how someone seemingly so evil... Could be so sincere about this. That was exactly what she had to remember. He was evil, and regrets couldn't change that. She was evil, even if she regretted what she'd done in the past. Rain knew she was too soft, that she would strain and contort things to see the good in people.

"I...I...oh, god, I don't know," she said, and with a shake of her head, darted from the house. She ran. Who knows how far, how long, but she had to get away, before she forgave her children's murderer. Finally, on a rooftop in the dark, with no one around, she crumpled into a sobbing heap, hugging herself, missing the two little twins she missed more than anything, and her beloved husband. Revenge was a thought long gone, and her head hurt trying to puzzle out how things could've truly gone the way they had.

Sciz walked up to River's house, trying to devise a plan of capturing her without drawing much attention. He dug through his pockets. Where the hell are the- Oh. He pulled out some power cuffs. Right, anyways... He walked up to River's door and knocked.

((Hiya everyone! Draiden posting on Sciz's profile! Well, it is 10PM where we are, and I'm simply too lazy to switch profiles, so whatever. You know its me for this post.))

Blood flopped onto the couch, sighing and wiping the tears from his eyes. As much as he'd liked to have admitted that he only said those things to get Rain out of his house, it was true. He felt terrible about condemning his niece and nephew to death. It was a mistake that he would never make again, now that his godhood had been stripped. No more inner lust for death would get in the way of what he wanted.

He had liked to think that he had let go of the evils of attachment, but he yearned for something better. If only he could do what he wanted and not felt this terrible afterwards. Why must his pleasures only end in agony?

He threw his head back, closing his eyes. A grin spread across his face when it had come to his attention, though, that he had yet to indulge himself tonight. When Frost and River were to be kidnapped, maybe he'd top it all off with sending a cultist to Swift's room with a message that would make him believe the cult still thought he was dead. That'd be fun.

It was all a matter of time now. If ever he had been truly evil at heart, it'd have been now, as he thought of the city of ice melt.

((Well, I haven't been able to post because of your and Rain's heart to heart. So now I can post. ))

Fenrir pulls himself from the shadows in Blood's home. He sprints towards the castle, and approaches Swift, "Swift, I have come with news, Blood has managed to form a cult of followers in his death. How many there are, and where they are located are currently unknown. But I found one who killed himself. We must be on the lookout for Blood Loyalists."

((So now we're just waiting on Haven, who's apparently fallen off the face of the internet for a while. Whee.))

River's ears pricked upon hearing a knock on the door. "Huh?" She stood from sitting on the couch and walked to the door. "What?" She asked after opening it.

Frost was wandering the castle halls with no specific intention in mind.

((P.S.: When I'm not on for a few days, it means something has ******** happened. Keeping what I have left of my pathedic life together is a little more important than rping with fictional animals. Don't freakin spam me through my PMs, either. That just pisses me off.

*Sigh* Sorry, I know I sound like a b***h...I'm just going through a lot right now...))

Sciz stepped in, his ears dropping a bit. "Rain, I'm sorry I have to do this..." He grabbed her and slapped his power cuffs on her, forcing her against the wall. "But you're under arrest for collaborating with Blood in destroying the Ice Kingdom. Now if you'll come with me quietly, I can escort you to jail before I have to use force."

River hissed. "Sciz?! What the hell are you doing?!" She began to struggle with the will of a lion, hissing and kicking.  

[Ryuzki Hygaea]

Spyke heard River's scream while on the way home and rushes off. "******** got to hurry up!!!!"

Jaybomb exits the lab and heads to the castle. "Might as well talk with Swift about him putting Blood on trial for his actions."

Roman heads to the training area to pay a visit to Snow.

Hunter continues shooting his Baretta .50 cal with Draid.

As the last tears fell, Rain felt thoughts flowing a bit clearer. Did she really just spill her heart out to someone shed originally wanted to kill, who she still was fairly sure she hated. And he'd shown remorse. Even tears, revealing some heart hurried behind cruel, evil stone walls. He was evil... Right? She hated him... right? She wanted to see the good in everyone, she always believed she could bring the best out in people. Being someone with evil lurking in her shadows as she paraded with her heroic facade, she managed to bring out the light in people, show them that they had a heart. But how often had that heart been a show? It was nothing she could figure out, nothing she wanted to hurt herself further with. These thoughts would not be solved soon, and there was no use trying to puzzle things out when you were most desperate for answers. She knew all too well what logical explanations the brain could invent when desperate enough. She sighed, looking up to the starry sky, hopeless, scared, and confused.

Sciz smacked River's head against the wall, knocking her out cold. So much for doing it quietly... s**t, someone's bound to show up now. He threw her over his shoulder and sprinted out of the house.
