TEAM UNDEAD HORSE: Mei & Leo

Mei giggled as Leo scurried out the door. "Good luck to you as well! Show those buggies no mercy!" She turned towards the icy cauldron, bottles and wooden spoon that were lain out for her to use. Time to make the base! She rolled up her sleeves and got to work!

The ghoul picked up a bottle and began to pour the liquid into the cauldron. Stirring carefully at first. Peering over towards one of the other base makers she didn't pay attention as she grabbed a second bottle and began to pour. The cauldron over flowing. "Oh shoot!" Mei tried to keep anymore from spilling out. Once she had gotten control over it she peered inside to see there was at least some left to work with. To which she gave a small sigh or relief.

She sat there. Measured and stirred. Measured and stirred. Mei's nose twitched for a second as a hideous smell wafted up from her cauldron. The liquid bubbling and popping as it made grotesque farting sounds. "Oh my gawd what in the name of all that is Jack?"

Mei's eyes rolled into the back of her head as she passed out from the smell. Her head narrowly missing the table in front of her. A few minutes passed before she pulled herself together and got back up. Noticing that a bit of her base was missing...

Now that it was time to begin bug hunting, Astra was super excited; she loved hunting for bugs, and considered herself very good at this task. And maybe if they made enough, she could have some for herself? That would be awesome!

Except, there was just a small problem. Everyone else had found themselves a partner...except her. She looked around again encase there was someone else, but it seemed everyone else had moved off.

"umm...Excuse me miss.." Astra approached the headcrab zombie professor, looking a little saddened "..I don't have...a partner.."

"Ooh, that's okay, spookie!" Moira said, smiling broadly and patting Astra on the back. "Let's see now... Griselda! Griselda?"

After a moment, a female (!) gnome detatched herself from the group. She had a beard, yes, but she was also wearing a dress with a full skirt and a practical apron. Her expression was stern but motherly, which made a nice contrast to the look of barely-controlled disgust on the face of most of the male gnomes. "Griselda here will work with you, spookie!"

((NPC Gnome: You can pick your team name yourself! When you're done bug-catching, quote me and Griselda will report her cauldron results~))

TEAM UNDEAD HORSE: Mei & Leo

She felt like she was going pretty good. Everything seemed to be going quite well. So far.

Whipping the spoon around, the ghoul stirred a little too energetically. The cauldron tipping side to side in front of her before finally it decided to tip a little too far one way. "Woah! Wait!" Some of the base sloshed out and onto the floor. Maybe she should have caught bugs instead.

Grabbing some sparkling dust from the little pouch in which is was kept, Mei sprinkled it into her base. Stirring, gently this time, with her spoon to mix it all in.

The base began to make tiny bubbles. Almost like soda would. At least it wasn't the stinky bubbles from before. The ghoul grinned, though the amount of base she had didn't seem to get any bigger. But she didn't loose any either.

Grabbing some water, Mei stirred that in. Stirring slowly yet again so as not to tip the cauldron over. She really felt like she was getting the hang of this. What could go wrong now?

She grinned as the base in the cauldron began to rise and fill it up some more. It wasn't much but at least it was something!

TEAM PUNK BIRD: Roch & Taima

"Sorry," Roch said a bit sheepishly. He waited until she was finished and brought the bugs over, dropping them into the cauldron. Then he summoned his guitar-- "Reaper, y'know?" he offered as he held the guitar by the neck in one hand and touched the cauldron with the other. "Just gotta pour a bit of FEAR into this--"

Which, because he WAS a Hob and a reaper, and experienced with FEAR healing, wasn't that big of a deal.

For some reason she felt the need to sprinkle in some more sparkling dust. It just didn't have quite enough fizz to really make it good. The base did not gain or loose any pints.

"Hmmmm, what does this need. It needs...something." Mei snapped her fingers. She picked up a container filled with dried bug guts. With a grin, she tossed in a huge blob of it. The base sloshed about and expanded at she quickly stirred it in. Breaking the bug guts up.

That had given her quite a bit more base!

Augh! She tipped the cauldron again!

Mei was getting restless in her base making. She wondered how Leo was fairing in her bug catching. Hopefully she would have enough base that she needed to have by the time the other ghoul had returned from bug catching. Mei didn't want to seem like she was slacking off or anything.

She decided one thing. More bug guts. LOTS MORE!

Little gnomes surely loved the flavor and appeal of bug guts. What little spookling wouldn't? Mei added more. Perhaps a bit more than what was really necessary but even so it gave her more base to work with.

Adding just a little bit more fresh water. She stirred everything in her cauldron round and around and around till it all began to mix very nicely with one another.

Now all she needed was for Leo to return with the bugs she had caught to add to the mix. Then they could add a dash of FEAR and hope to Jack that it turned out alright and doesn't poison the little spooklings.

Mei tapped the side of her cauldron with her spoon. Causeing it to give off a deep ringing noise.

The trick with turning over a rock had worked wonders, so Leo figured she might as well use it again. And lo and behold, it worked wonders. Again. That was... yes, that was six bugs now, she thought as she counted the little critters caught in her net. "Awesome!" With a spring in her step, she made her way back into the creepateria to hand her catch over to Mei.

"Mei! Got them!" She waved the net around, still beaming happily. "Are you ready to mix them into the base?"

She clanked her spoon against the side of the cauldron for emphasis. "Ready Freddy! Bring those buggies on over here and toss em in. We'll show these amateur juice makers how its done!"

TEAM UNDEAD HORSE: Mei & Leo!

"Right-o, ma'm!" She saluted with the hand that wasn't holding the net. "Let's get on with it. I plop them in, you stir?" She reached into her net, carefully catching a bug before putting it into the base - extra careful not to get any on her fingers. You never knew with liquid stuff, never. It could end up corroding her skin! Well, probably not... it was for little gnomelings, after all; but then again, who was to say that gnomelings didn't have a different acid tolerance than mares?

"Alright, there we go. Ready for the FEAR infusing thing?" Which was harder than it looked. Leo tried, she really did, but her FEAR didn't seem to be co-operating and in the end she got nearly nothing into the punch. Aww. "Ah jack, sorry about that." She looked crushed. "That was... that was really bad."
