BACKGROUND Shi was born Himura, Hiro. Not of the same Himura clan that he runs with now, but a different branch that is also within the Dragon Clan. Meaning that Shi is not descended from the Hero that founded their clan. It wouldn't matter anyways because he gave up that name, along with everything else when he became a monk. He began his training late, at age 9 after his father passed on. He graduated and went to Megumi Tempi, because he had heard that his family had gone there and he had hadn't completely forgotten. them. The Kami rewarded his weakness with the discovery that his family had died in a house fire trying to cook some Fugu. Now he has been driven back on course by this lesson and has taken it as a lesson to steer the Himura towards enlightenment.
Your experience log looks like you did Jiujutsu 3 twice (but didn't actually include it in your skills or your attack rolls), and your disadvantage total was incorrect by 3.
Your Healthy wound rank should be 10, everything else should be 4.
Your Armor TN should be 15, not 35 (O_o')
(Also, pro-tip: You "graduate" from your monk training when you die! But I know what you meant ^-^' )
ADVANTAGES Sensation (3 pts) - Following in her grandfather's footsteps, Kaichiyo has always been skilled at enrapturing a crowd under any circumstances. Whenever she would use a Perform skill she does not possess, she is considered to have 1 rank in it.
Social Position (6 pts) - Being the daughter of a clan champion is no small matter. She gains +1 Status Rank.
Voice (3 pts) - Part of her crowd-enrapturing talents is by far her voice, pleasing in virtually every respect. She gains +1k1 on any Perform skill roll that utilizes her voice.
DISADVANTAGES Bad Fortune: Unknown Enemy (3 pts) - Someone somewhere in another clan hates her and wishes to see her dead. She has no idea who or why.
Compulsion: Performance (2 pts) - In stressful situations, such as combat, sailing in a storm, or a direct social confrontation, Kaichiyo is hopelessly compelled to Perform, even if it might be seen as inappropriate, distracting, or disrespectful; making light of the situation to cope with the stress. She must make a Willpower roll of TN15 to overcome this compulsion.
Idealistic (2 pts) - She adheres closely to the code of Bushido and has a hopelessly naïve view of the world and how it works. Her standards are impossible for many heroes to meet, much less herself, and thus when she loses honor the loss is increased by 1 point due to her own self-loathing.
Overconfident (3 pts) - She possesses a grossly inflated view of her own prowess, and is often incapable of recognizing when a situation is beyond her ability to handle. When outnumbered or facing a clearly superior enemy she must succeed at a Perception TN20 roll in order to recognize the situation for what it is and leave instead of engaging.
TECHNIQUES, SPELLS, KATA, KIHO, SHADOWLANDS POWERS School Techniques HIMURA BUSHI RANK 1: Unquiet Ocean - Trained to be quick to action when honor and duty demands it, she adds her Honor to all initiative rolls. In addition, when taking the Defense or Full Defense stances, she may add her Void Ring to her Armor TN, in addition to any other modifications.

DESCRIPTION Decorated pale and fair by her Kitsuki and Seppun origins, and turned tan from days of hard work and hard outdoor leisure, Kaichiyo is a comely samurai. Pretty, but not particularly beautiful; fit, but not particularly athletic. Aside from the charismatic flow of Air around her, her physical traits can be considered, by and large, "normal". She stands an average 5'4" and sports a sharp pair of dark brown eyes coupled by equally dark hair. What truly makes her stand out, however, is her mind. A golden voice, silver tongue, and bronze will, all forged with wit as sharp as steel. The young Himura heiress is not ashamed in the least to call herself a Bard, and is wholly eager to continue learning the trade. She loves an enraptured audience above all else, but isn't afraid to get her hands dirty - especially to help the clan. A definite type A personality, but tempered by the wisdom of her grandfather's memory and the self-imposed code of perfection that has come to mean for her. Despite what others may say, however, she has never truly felt the weight of her mother's shadow.
BACKGROUND Born - Shiro Himura, 12th day of the month of the Dragon, ???? Father - Himura Arazan (Former Seppun Guard) Mother - Himura Haruka (Kraken Clan Champion) Siblings - Haru (7), Tenpi (3)

For Gendo's parents.
His father was named Noboru, never gave a family name.
At the top there's the Daimyo/Champion and his/ her family. For the Kraken's purpose, this consists of Himura Kaichiyo, her mother, father, and siblings. It may grow bigger later.
The rest of the Himura family are samurai sworn to her name, like my character and Raganui's character. They are not related and probably won't ever be, but they're still both Himura vassals sworn into service with the Himura family and entitled to use the Himura name.
Finally, we come down to monks, who give up their family name in pursuit of enlightenment. Your character may be known as simply just Shi....although I think it's appropriate to be addressed as province name- no- character name....but with a name like Shi, that'd be rather ominous ><

Basically, there is no "other Himura branch" in the dragon clan. sweatdrop Kitsuki Himura was the name of the Kraken Clan's spiritual founder, so the Emperor gave us the family name Himura in honor of his deeds. Up until now there has never existed a Himura clan or family.
(Japanese/Chinese naming traditions, family name first, no commas. Kind of a cultural "Your family/clan is greater than yourself" sort of thing. Given names are used among those who are closer to each other such as friends, clanmates, etc... - for example, your characters would refer to mine as Kaichiyo-san (or -sama, or -hime, as appropriate to her station if you want to be respectful) - and given names without an honorary (same example would be just Kaichiyo) are used among those intimately close, such as siblings, parent-to-child, or lovers. Monks can get away with etiquette faux pas more than most, but generally anyone outside our clan we'll be referring to as "Clan"-san or "Family"-san.)

Noted on Armor TN and HP. But here's how you have your skills listed:
Currently, you have your Jiujutsu listed at Rank 2, not Rank 3, even though you paid for Rank 3. So you should be rolling 6k3 with Agility 3 and 3 ranks. Your "2 points" I listed in skills was your Lore: Theology (Fortunes) 2.
I mentioned your "10 points in disadvantages" because that's what you have listed in your EXP log at the end sweatdrop Should be 7 there. Your sheet totals up correct, you just wrote the wrong thing in the log.
Besides that, that's it. Also, note Plainsfox's post about families, and monk names, above smile A lot of samurai will often retire and become monks, and when they do, they actually give up both their family and chosen names and take up an entirely new name. They don't HAVE to give up their chosen name, but many do. Likewise, samurai born with a certain chosen name will sometimes/often change it upon their gempukku's completion - usually because they will find inspiration in a hero from their clan's past (or any clan, really) and take their NEW chosen name after them.

I've seen the honorific thing played out a couple different ways (online and offline) in terms of frequency. For the most part, follow what Ms. Selini said ver batum. But I personally wouldn't use the honorific to describe someone not present, unless it's speaking of them well. Such as, "Who is positioned on the east tower?" "I sent Seitaro there not too long ago" vs "Which of my vassals spotted the incoming assassins that threatened my family before they could deal any harm?" "Why, it was Seitaro-san who fulfilled that duty most nobly, my lord." Other people play differently on this. If my character held the person mentioned in high regard (compared to normal regard), I may then use the honorific no matter what.
Directly addressing I will always use it though, unless I mean to cause insult (or use it TO cause insult; courtiers are funny that way!), unless the conditions Ms. Selini mentioned above take place.
To me, dropping a -san at every possible opportunity to tack one on makes a samurai seem very naive and idealistic. But, as mentioned before, personal preference.

...hm. *Whistles innocently*
Hehe, and yes, I forgot to mention that neglecting to include an honorific is often used as (or can be seen as even if it was a mistake) an insult. Crazy courtiers.

@ Everyone:
I woke up this morning, and the very first thing I blurted out when I opened my eyes was "... Himura family should be +1 Intelligence, not Willpower, since so many merchant skills are Int-based."
Yes, I do geek work in my sleep, I've been doing so for years. Magic decks, Warhammer 40k army lists, Mage Wars spellbooks, D&D characters, and now apparently game design. Stop judging me.
ANYWHO, what's everyone's thoughts on changing +1 WP to +1 INT? People can rework their sheets accordingly if enough people approve the change.

Hehe, sleep and shower inspiration happens to me all the time too. To most people, I'd wager.
