The Rainbow Green had done her due diligence in navigating through the ongoing chaos, exuding a firm aura of no at any and all of her offending siblings--save for the metallics, of course. The Bronze was already riled up enough, and her Gold sisters had behaved themselves, more or less. As she approached the Candidates, she remained just as calm and unshakable as she'd been from the start, head held high more out of self-discipline than blatant pride. The first one she approached was Valian, and the Green paused to look him in the eyes for a moment--this was a fine lad to be sure, and she found him rather acceptable. Next, she came to a stop at Divisti, repeating her once-over with the same level of care and precision as the last. Still, in spite of her focus, she kept herself at a rather good clip, trying to make up for lost time.
She knew who she was looking for, but the problem was the where. Hmm. Turning back toward the other Candidates, the Rainbow Green almost frowned, eyes whirling in quiet consideration. She'd walk away for now, settling instead a rather large distance away from the Lisa Frank Bronze--once she'd found the ideal spot, she sat herself down primly, curling her tail around her. It wasn't quite time yet, she thought. It was close, but--not yet.

Elibrie and Blue Kesucianth
She couldn't-
Everything was wrong, and everything hurt, and she was-
She wanted to be done. She wanted to go home, and never think about dragons again, because in those moments, she hated them. All her hope turned to something bitter and ugly, because how could that bronze do that? How could the others let him?! They'd protected other Candidates, why not Juhvek? She wept against her sister as the Healers came for their friend - was there even anything to save, or would this be her last sight and memory of him? - knowing full well that she shouldn't be, that she should get herself together, but for once in her life, she didn't care about rules. If the dragonet came for her too, for being so insolent as to feel, then so be it. She didn't care. She didn't want to do any of this anymore.
When a mind brushed against hers, she shoved reflexively, angrily, and responded to the words without them even sinking in. "How could he!" she railed, "It's not fair!"
And she didn't understand, and she wouldn't forgive, but somewhere in the midst of all this, it was now blue hide she was weeping into, not a white robe, and she had let him in...but it was so much, and it still hurt. A hole in her heart might have been filled, but not before something had broken. It was too much. "It's not fair, Kesucianth. It's not..."
Mindful of Oranie, whose eyes he glanced up to meet for the briefest of moments, concern for one they both held so dear apparent, the pale blue would pull a wing around Elibrie and draw her close. I know, Mine. I know. I am sorry.

As though Lisa Frank would resist the call of a charming lady such as No. 2 Pencil. Tearing himself away from the riffraff, the bronze carefully picked his way over to his sister's side - notably avoiding stepping on any nearby Candidates - and once he had reached it, nuzzled her. Of course, my dear. Why not? This way he would get to see the boys and enjoy the a nice leisurely stroll with his sisters.
For her part, No. 2 Pencil II was not at all in any distress. It was merely that she didn't like to see others in such a state, and had been rather concerned for a boy on the Sands. All seemed well now, however... or as well as might be. But her dear 90s Picture Day sister was quite distraught. Dear Avocado, why not reassure our sister? she thought, gesturing toward poor 90s Picture Day, who certainly needed some comfort. To that green she sent warm, protective thoughts. All would be well!
But she too moved to join her sister, knowing that No. 2 Pencil I would be quite put out if she did not. Of course, dear sister, she said, standing gracefully to her feet. They did have so many Candidates to meet, after all. Why not start now?

Rundanrul
Oh, so young, so inexperienced! Rundanrul's smirk was one of self confidence as the younger Candidate explained who he was. Well then, he'd certainly have to show him the ropes.
"Rundanrul," he said as he turned his gaze back to the field of eggs, his interest not grabbed until Lisa Frank turned out to be a bronze. His eyes were for the shining male and no one else, not even when Star hatched into a bronze as well. The fighting didn't bother him, and when Lisa Frank called for every boy to step forward he did just that.
"Come along, Valain," he said, nodding his head towards Lisa Frank. "If a bronze calls you you should certainly listen." But the bronze didn't reach him nor Valain before he was pulled away but the twin queens which was understandable, he supposed. He'd make his rounds with them and surely pass by later to get a look.

Surel
Things changed very, very quickly. Everything was Sunshine and Rainbows (ha) for a few moments, but then Moo Cow hatched. The feelings that Surel remembered from that egg made her shrink behind Dystzha as the other girl stepped in front of her, and not a moment later blood was splattering on Surel's robes. Not her own, though.
"Oh! Dystzha!" Her worst fear recognized, Surel quickly forgot about her own safety to reach out, grabbing the other Candidate to wrap her arm around her back, providing a crutch of sorts. One look down told her all she needed to know, that her friend was pretty badly hurt.
"Oh no," she whimpered quietly, looking around frantically for a healer. The brown had done damage to others and she watched on with horror as one of the bronzes shook a Candidate like a doll, snapping something before letting him go. Oh...
Feeling incredibly overwhelmed at terrified of what else might come to be, Surel held on tighter to Dys to try to hide her trembling.
"Hang on," she said weakly, trying to sound confident. "Let's...let's get you over to the healers so they can...can bandage that up." Hopefully if they got the wounds seen to quickly Dys wouldn't need to leave the sands completely.

Versha
Oh dear...things were getting exciting, and not in the good way. Even the excitement of two sets of twins couldn't stop Versha's concern for the more...rambunctious eggs that were laying waste to one another and the Candidates. She held very still through all of it, knowing sometimes that not being in the spotlight was for the best. She held her ground but didn't draw attention to herself, instead watched warily as the Lisa Frank bronze joined up with his sisters to stroll around the ring of Candidates. Well...if they got to her, she'd just have to resort to her usual charming self. Hopefully the bronze was done being near murderous.

[ candidate ciraine ] - western weyr - she/her
Shards and shells, everything had just exploded. There were twins everywhere, and then fighting and more fighting and--Juhvek being thrown like he was little more than a toy, sending her stomach dropping below the earth as she watched the horrible arc of his path play out. He hit the sand hard, and Ciraine was absolutely certain that she'd be hearing that crack in her nightmares for quite some time after all this was said and done. She'd clamped a hand over her mouth to silence herself, the sting of tears threatening to buildup at the corners of her eyes. This was something she'd been prepared for, reminded of time and time again, but lessons were different than seeing it happen in real time--it took far too much effort for her to tear her eyes away, brow furrowed in both concern and horror as she tried her best to calm herself back down.
The murmurs about twin queens took a little longer to reach her ears than she'd like to admit, but she'd see them for herself soon enough as they began their promenade. The fact that that Bronze was escorting them sent a cold chill down her spine, and Ciraine took a shaky breath, letting it out slowly. Everything would be fine, right? One way or another, it would sort itself out. She just had to stay calm, and it would be alright.
