In a weird act Avari steps forward, much like the start of the bout, and offers his arm for a handshake.

Marcus lowers his fists, instead placing them on his hip as he looks at Avari's outstretched hand. It was a bit late in the match for this and Marcus had made the distinct decision to act counter to what his father might have done or been expected to do in this situation the first time. He wasn't going to change his mind now, but he was going to be a bit more direct in his response. This time, he looks to slap the taste right out of Avari's mouth in response

Avari reaches out an honest hand for Marcus, but is instead caught with a hard slap across his face. A red mark swells slightly on his cheek, as the crowd all begin and deep and guttural jeer for Damone.
Fusion looks at Marcus and nods, pursing his lips. He steps back for a second and then rushes at the bigger man, looking to jump up on to him and just start pounding at his face.

seems that Marcus had finally made an impression on Avari, the right one, as Avari finally brings the fight he was looking for. Marcus is clocked with several shots to the face before he finally reaches out to attempt a hard shove to the smaller man to get him off

Avari gets pushed away again but doesn't relent. He twists his feet and rushes back again, looking to come in with some kicks to the side and back of Marcus' knees.

Marcus hadn't just shoved him for a show of power. He'd done it to get the space to level him. As Avari charges in, he looks to meet him with a stiff uppercut to the jaw

Avari rushes in very headstrong and is caught with a stiff shot, sending him down to one knee. He tries to shake the cobwebs and looks up at Marcus.

Marcus attempts to reach down to pull Avari up and into a sidewalk slam, a simple move at this point but he has to get him down somehow

Avari is quickly picked up and slammed down with the Sidewalk Slam, again slowing down the match. He groans a little and rolls to the side, towards the turnbuckle.

Marcus gets to his feet again and watches as Avari rolls towards the turnbuckle. He'd wait for him to get up in the corner before charging in to attempt a splash

What Avari didn't expect was to roll away to safety, getting to his feet before being hit with a big splash moments later. The splash had him slump down to the mat, his back against the turnbuckle.

Marcus doesn't like Avari being down in the corner at this point. So he reaches down to grab his legs, aiming to lift and then drop him back towards the center of the ring

There's honestly not much that Avari can do as Marcus decides to drag him to the center of the ring. The ref takes a quick check over him before stepping back and allowing the fight to continue again.

Marcus doesn't feel like he's done enough to put Avari down. With that, he hits the ropes and rebounds back, leaping up to attempt a leg drop across the face

The crowd had settled a little, perhaps worried that the dominant streak of Marcus would now just continue until the end of the match.
But as Marcus came off the ropes and jumped for the leg drop, Fusion rolled to the side again, leaving him nothing but mat to land on to!
