Eunmi was about to look around, but then looked back at Spectre Girl. The way the line up was set up, Eunmi wouldn't be able to face Gorm unless Spectre Girl lost her match.
"If you can't beat him, I will," Eunmi said, determined. "If you do..."
The teenager straightened, looking confident.
"Then I guess we'll see who's stronger," she grinned.

"Oh, I wouldn't want to hurt you," said Henrietta with a light, yet heroically dramatic laugh. "You're innocent, after all."

"Hah," Eunmi laughed. "You don't think I can hold my own either, do you?"
Eunmi looked a little disheartened. She probably didn't look very threatening.

"I try not to fight for fun," Henrietta said. Though she felt some urge to try the girl. Not because of the challenge, but because Eunmi had lied to her.
She DID know martial arts. She'd had Henrietta worried all the evening before and all morning.

"I know what you mean," Eunmi nodded. If she wasn't trying to protect Henrietta, she wouldn't be doing this. She had given up Taekwon-do, after all.
"I started learning Taekwon-do because my parents couldn't get me interested in anything else from our korean background," Eunmi explained. "At first I didn't really even like it... but I would be lying if I said it didn't come in handy...
"Especially being a girl," Eunmi said.

Big fat liar!
"You seem pretty confident in your ability," Henrietta said, despite the fact that there was no proof for the claim, "do you plan to win the tournament?"

"I'm not really confident," Eunmi said sheepishly. "Truth is, I stopped Taekwon-do.. I'm kind of embarrassed I even have to use it.
"Besides..." Eunmi said, her expression more serious. "I don't really know that I would be able to win. I really only care about getting my friend her Pokemon back...
"We only just met, but I really hate to see her upset," Eunmi sighed. "I just figured with my background, I'd be able to do better in a hand-to-hand combat sport. I wish there was some other way, 'cause I didn't want to get back into fighting."

Then why did she enter?
"You would go through such trouble for someone you barely know? You must care a lot about this friend," Henrietta said and she felt herself blush. Of course Eunmi cared about her, as a friend.
But nothing more.
Her heart sank.

"Yeah, but..." Eunmi paused.
"It seems like we've known each other a lot longer," Eunmi said. It confused her, too, so it was difficult to explain.
"I was dreading becoming a Pokemon trainer when it turned out I didn't get accepted to the Castelia Institute of Arts," ((CIA, lol)) Eunmi shrugged. "Having her around makes me a bit more motivated to try harder."

"Try harder as a Pokemon Trainer? Why not just go to a different school?" Henrietta asked.
Her heart was pounding. She was gonna be figured out, she told herself. Even if she could pry information out of Eunmi like this, she was so screwed...
She ached, hands and ribs. There was supposed to be a place she could get healed but she felt rooted to her seat. Ambivalent between wanting to stay and wanting to go.

"There aren't any other schools in Unova that teach both Fashion Design and Illustration," Eunmi said. "And I can't afford out-of-region tuition."
The alternative would have been to go to the Saffron School of Art and Design, ((SSAD xD)), but she would have only been able to afford it if she commuted from her Grandmother's house in Lavender Town.
And ******** that. Grandmother Sung was horrible.
"I don't suppose I'll be a Pokemon trainer for long," Eunmi said. "Once I get to Castelia, anyway."

That was it, then? She'd leave her friend behind?
Leave her behind?
Henrietta felt sad then. "So you'll leave your friend when you get to Castelia City?" she asked.

Oh... Eunmi hadn't thought of that.
"I.. I don't know," Eunmi said softly. "Castelia is ...my dream, you know?"
Eunmi looked down at the ground, recently realizing that what she thought were her goals and dreams might not actually be what would make her happy.

"Then I'm sure," Henrietta spoke hesitantly, "that your friend will understand." She placed a reassuring hand on Eunmi's shoulder and tried her best to smile, even if it was hidden by the mask.
"But you should tell her, if you two are adventuring together, I mean."

"It's not like it's a secret," Eunmi said, surprised. "It's just not really come up in conversation.
"I... guess maybe it did," Eunmi frowned. "But her problems kinda seem more important."
Eunmi shifted, lowering herself to try and steal a peek at the super heroine's face.
"You didn't need to wear a mask if you can't use your super powers," she said, changing the subject. "Couldn't you have entered as your alter ego?"
