Alice looked at the food then shook her head slightly. "I'm going to go get a drink." Standing up a bit shakily, she headed out of the nurses office, waving the frantic nurse away. Shoving her Ray Bans up her nose, Alice pulled out a dollar from her pocket and wobbled over to the vending machine. As soon as she approached it, her body felt a pair of eyes on her. She looked up to see a guy standing there. In an instant, one name flooded her mind: James. Gasping, she fell to the ground unconscious.

[[ENTER- JAMES! TA DA!]]

James looked at the piece of paper filled with names, numbers and times. Shaking his head, he stuffed the piece of paper into his pocket. He had a free period now, so he decided he'd try to memorize where everything was. Okay and here is the nurse's station and- Once James' eyes landed on her, everything stopped. Alice... He blinked, and watched in fascination of the girl. Once she had spotted him, she gasped and suddenly fainted. Immediately, he dashed to her side and scooped her up. James ran into the nurse's station and said he had found her in the hallway. The nurse pointed to the cot Rhea was on and he laid her down gently. Looking between the twins, he ran a hand through his messy long hair.

Rhys and Rhea

Rhea wanted to object when Alice vacated the room on wobbly legs, but thought better of it. From what she knew, Alice was the kind of person who preferred to do things unassisted. Rhea watched Alice's retreating form for a few moments before starting on a sandwich. She looked up when the door opened.
Rhys was quietly eating in his corner, savoring every bite of his PB&J sandwich. It was gourmet compared to hospital food. He started on a cookie shortly afterward, his slate eyes moving to the door when it opened.
Rhea edged off of the cot when a guy with messy black hair brought an unconscious Alice into the room, laying her on the cot. Rhys stared from his corner, half a cookie protruding from his mouth.
"I shouldn't have let her go alone." Rhea said quietly.

At the sound of the female's voice, James turned his head to look at her. His moonstone eyes passed over to the unconscious Alice and sighed heavily. Slowly bending down to hover over her body, he checked her pulse, then began to chant something in a different language.

Rhys and Rhea

Rhea edged away again when the strange guy looked at her, a thing of habit more than anything. She furrowed her brow when he began chanting in a strange language, wondering what in the world it could be. Rhea didn't recognize it off the top of her head, another common thing to her.
Rhys finished his cookie, silently observing the goings-on from his corner. He stood up the moment the strange guy looked at his sister, distrusting him immediately. There really wasn't a reason for it and Rhys didn't feel like he needed one. He quietly walked up behind Rhea, gently grabbing her shoulders and guiding her back as the strange guy began to chant in a strange language. Rhys had seen freakier things, but none of them had ever been near Rhea.

Valeria nodded to Mr. Boshka. "Alright." she said, grabbing her bag and swinging it onto her shoulder. "But don't go and cut yourself, alright?" She smiled and exited the room, heading for the cafeteria. She pushed open the door and inhaled. Ah, the fresh smell of grease in the morning, she thought. It grossed her out. She stood in line, and payed for her sub, the only thing she knew for sure was made fresh. Prisons probably get better quality food then we do, she thought sourly. She looked for a place to sit. Nothing.

Valeria huffed in fustration. Then, she spotted an open table. She walked over quickly. There was only one other person over there. Think! she told herself. What was his name?

She sat down with a smile. "Hello, Zared!" she chirped. She had just sat down as Ms. Heen walked away. "Yikes. She looks like she swollowed a sea urchin. What was that about?" she asked him.

James sighed and looked up at the two of them, his eyes filled with apathy, but caring buried deep. "How long has she been like this?" he spoke quietly, his tone the same apathy.

Slowly, Alice moaned as she began to stir. "Wha.................James........" her head was moving side to side as as she sat up, the world inside her head began to spin.
Immediately, James' head whipped around, his eyes on her. "Alice, what's wrong tell me what happened." He was gently gripping her shoulders to keep her steady.
"Blood.......spill......." Her eyes were slowly opening and closing, no one could see it though.
James sighed and pulled her onto his lap as he sat on the cot. "Shh.... it's okay....." He held her, running his fingers through her hair to lull her back to sleep.

Rhys and Rhea

Rhea opened her mouth to reply to the new guy's question before closing it at the sound of Alice mumbling. She looked over and saw that Alice was coming in and out of consciousness, something that couldn't be that good.
Rhys maneuvered his way around Rhea, putting her slightly behind him. He watched the way that the new guy, whom he assumed was called James purely because of Alice's mumblings, cradled Alice and lulled her to sleep. Somehow, he understood this sentiment.
"There was an accident in the science lab earlier today and her arm got cut by some glass, hence the bandaging." Rhys said, his tone rather flat. "She was able to walk for awhile, but she passed out from the blood loss on the way. I carried her in here and she woke up a few minutes later."
Rhea noted Rhys' tone, understanding why he had taken it. She edged out from behind him, standing to his side.
"That was approximately an hour ago." Rhea clarified, explaining the rest. "She seemed fine when I came in and we were about to have lunch. She went to get something and a few minutes later, you came in carrying her."
Rhys kept an eye on James, his stance rather neutral. Rhea stood next to her brother, figuring that James would tend to Alice.

James nodded, his way of thanking them for the information. He gently lifted Alice's arm to see bandages covering a specific spot. He shook his head, his eyes slowly closing. Gently laying her back down, he slowly stood. "She needs sugar.... Watch her until I get back." he instructed Rhea. Stepping out of the office, James headed for the vending machine and bought a bottle of iced tea.

Rhys and Rhea

Rhea nodded when James instructed them, or rather just her, to watch Alice. She didn't mind it, but instead wondered at how he knew Alice so well. Rhea hadn't ever seen him around the school before, and she didn't look enough like Alice to make her assume they were twins. Related, possibly. Twins, likely not.
Rhys relaxed when James vacated the room, on his way to retrieve sugar for Alice.
Of course she needs sugar, that much is obvious. I could've told him that. He thought.
The experience came, yet again, from years in and out of mental wards. Rhys had experienced the low glucose levels himself a few weeks ago, having passed out several times due to drops in blood sugar. Who could blame him? The orderlies had spiked his food with the medications he refused to take and refusing to eat was his only option. The orderlies claimed to have stopped, but Rhys knew their tricks....

Alice moaned in her sleep, mumbling mostly nonsense. James had come back with the bottle of iced tea, and looked at Alice, seeing barely any change in her. He sighed and gently shook her, lifting her up slowly and offering the bottle. "I need you to drink this all." Alice's eyes darted from the bottle up to James' face. "B-But-" he shook his head. "No drink it." She sighed and took small sips from the bottle. James gently rubbed her back as she did so. He began to sing a lullaby his aunt had taught him.

Rhys and Rhea

The Ironwood twins watched the other pair with interest, taking note of each movement, each word spoken. Both smirked, the expression identical save for the angling. Rhys' angled left and Rhea's angled right. The interaction between Alice and James reminded them both of a very similar situation that had happened only a few years ago, though the layout was slightly different. In place of Alice was the boy twin and in place of James was the girl twin. The situation was likely also very different, but the similarities were still there.
"We'll leave you two alone." Rhea said quietly as she picked up her bag, the pair exiting the room and closing the door softly behind them.

Once she was back asleep, James sighed, and began rocking her back and forth. Alice............Alice............. he thought .....oh god I'm so sorry.......... James looked down at the sleeping Alice and set her down on the cot. Slowly standing, he removed her Ray Bans and set them on the table next to her. He took a deep breath, and left the room.

Ten minutes had passed. Alice slowly began to stir, her blood sugar a bit higher than before. Slowly sitting up, she yawned and stretched out a bit. "James.....?" she asked, her voice cracked from the dryness of her throat. Looking around, she grabbed her Ray Bans and put them back on her face.

Diz



Diz rose from his seat on the steps out the front of the school, looking round quickly then picking up his board. He walked slowly down the stairs and along the path leading away from the schools entrance rubbing his head. Diz allowed himself to slip into a daydream as he walked along the the school grounds. Most avoided the almost zombie looking boy as he walked along, then there were the few that hadn't seen him coming and bumped into him occassionaly knocking him out of his daydream but only breifly. He finally ended up walking off the path and over the grass before collapsing to the ground. He laid sprawled across the grass for a few minutes before rolling over onto his back and placing his skateboard under his head then closed his eyes as he began to think to himself.

Rhys and Rhea

The twins had situated themselves in the waiting area of the nurse's office. Rhea had figured that Alice and James would need her and Rhys to stave off the nurse if need be. In fact, she very nearly counted on it. Rhys had simply decided to stay with his sister. The pair sat side by side in complete silence, neither one attempting to speak to the other. That was one convenient thing about being a twin, the ability to read every nuance about one's sibling so well that words needn't pass at every moment. The pair glanced over when James exited the room, two pairs of curious slate eyes surreptitiously looking his way.

James had left the office a good time ago when Alice slowly stood and staggered over to the twins. "Where.... did he.....go.....?" She still felt a bit dizzy and tried her hardest to stand.
James was sitting outside on the roof, looking up at the sky. No.....I shouldn't have come here.......it was a mistake.......... His head fell and rested against his knees, the pain and sorrow of past events washing over him.
