Intruders were here. Their scents... Several of them... Killed one of our own, caught unaware... The trail vanishes, but is still warm... Alert the mages!
While the group may have escaped a nasty fight, the obstacles ahead were made much more difficult for them.
(Jacob) Even in the air, we'll need to be cautious. Remember last time, that false Abomination that flew about? I would hate to have to run into one of those.
(Milaku) I wouldn't put it past my previous captors to have attempted to create more as well...

A couple of the black hunters broke away and ran back to one of the outposts. Upon reaching it, they reported in and approached another Black Hunter demon. This one in particular had more markings on it than the other hunters, one of which matched the marking and location in which mages typically had their main identifying mark. Next to the hunter was a more humanoid with mage-like markings.
The hunter teleported the lot of them to the scene of the crime. They concluded that there were at least 3 or 4 of them and obviously more powerful than the run of the mill stray intruder. Still there wasn't enough of them to go on a full scale alert beyond what was already in place until they figured out who was there. It could have been an overzealous group devoted to Heegh, that blasphemous creature who thought himself god as well. The hunter mage broke the others into groups of 4 (making 5 parties total) and gave each group an item that would allow them to teleport only once, but it would get them to the other's location quickly should they find them.
The master hunter sent 3 of the groups off in several of the likely directions that the intruders went, while he and the other split up with a group of their own and went in what they believed to be the most likely of ways that the group had went.

After flying away from the scene for a while Rosemary suddenly stopped in mid-flight. The air in the clouds up ahead was unusual and she wasn't sure if it was a poisonous gas or something else. Yes she could push it away and make a clear pocket as they flew through, but she wasn't entirely sure if it would alert something or not... or if she should fly through it and hope it really was just poison which the helmets would filter out. She of course explained all this and asked what they thought she should do.

Jacob scratched the back of his head, then hovered in the air on his own, turning to face the rest of the group.
It may be typical, but since I'm immortal and can't die, I test it out by going in there myself and seeing if my suit will filter it... So if it is poison, I'll either 'die' or be fine. If it knocks me out, Rosemary will be able to retrieve me easily. Besides, as far as I can tell, I'm not sensing anything too negative...
When all finally agreed, he hovered cautiously into the clouds.

Jacob's armor started to slowly take damage and corrode. It was a corrosive acid cloud formed by a nest of plague goblins bellow.

Upon figuring out it the odd part of the clouds was merely plague goblin farts, Rosemary moves the damaging stuff out of their path.

A breath of almost "fresh" air, at least as fresh as the air in Ni'jitogrimiz can get. The cloud seemed to go on forever as Rosemary cut open a path.
Midway through it, something zipped past their heads.... it was a screaming plague goblin, barfing toxic chemicals and acid as it flew past, then landed on the ground with a nasty splat. It barely missed Thas, the venemous liquid sloshing through the air.
(Jacob) What the hell? ... Look out, below us!
Stone golem like creatures had emerged out of the ground below them and had started picking up the numerous plague goblins, hurling them at the flying group like catapults, trying to knock them out of the air. This also included the additional bonus of splattering the deadly goo of the plague goblins all over their bodies if it made contact.

(Only doing this because GL suggested it). Thas suggest to Sephiroth to send a meteor down that burned with holy fire. Jacob and Milaku agreed that it would get rid of the immediate threat... but Sephiroth wasn't sure of the idea.
However when one almost hit someone, he reappeared and grabbed one of the goblins out of the air, engulfed it with holy fire, and turned it into a holy meteoroid bomb. He threw it back to the ground with enough force to create a small crater. Down below they only had a moment to see the flash of light before it hit.

The flaming meteoroid hit the ground and caught everyone of the plague goblins in the area on fire. In fact it worked too well as there were more of them on the ground than probably any of them had guessed. The burning holy flames were so bright that they could see it through the clouds.
Of course they weren't the only ones to see it. The hunter mage and the mage like humanoid saw this as well. The hunter was the closer of the two and would be in the area in a moment.

"Far more than initially thought, far more..."
So many exploding plague goblins in fact, that not only did it take out the nest and the demon tossing golem creations, but it caused a slight earthquake, the ground rupturing, revealing beneath them that there had been an underground cavern filled with the flammable eggs of goblins. There had been a variety of goblin species, currently some of the more intelligent ones running around screeching as they burned with holy fire before either exploding, or burning into a crispy corpse.
(Fal'Jenul)This was highly unforeseen. Perhaps going underground to the now empty cavern would be wise, since they could be searching for topside?
There was a very distant groan, and while most others would not hear it, those with enhanced hearing would. It sounded both tormented and enraged, with at least a hundred cries in it's voice. Rosemary could make out a speck in the distance rushing towards their location, the speck growing larger and more distinct rather quickly as it grew nearer... tendrils... claws, teeth, numerous oddly shaped heads and faces on a dragon's body. It was one of several false abominations, coming to investigate. And then it spoke, and while it was not as horrifying as Jiluzix himself, still it was quite a terror, it's voice growing louder as it began to close in...
"We bring torment! We bring death! The plagues arrive with us! Suffer! Suffer! Suffer!"

Upon seeing the creature coming after them Rosemary grabbed Jacob's hand and Thas and told him to grab someone else, and once they were all connected somehow she made them all vanish into thin air whisked them away in the wind to another area in that world. Once they reached a new area, which wasn't any closer than they were before to their destination since she had done this without really thinking, she grabbed at the nearest person and almost collapsed. It was harder to do that here than it was elsewhere.

No sooner had they left than the hunter mage portaled into the area with the hunters that was with it. A few moments later the other joined it with their own group. "Hell Fire... They're more than a minor nuisance..."
They dispelled the fire, but the reaction of exploding goblins continued. The crater Sephiroth made had been damaged enough to not look like a crater caused by a meteor since the area had collapsed. They sent out the hunters to investigate.
To the false abomination. "You! Did you see who did this?!"

The abomination hovered a few stories from the ground, but still seemed like it would land on the individuals below it. Maggots and flying bugs could be seen buzzing all about.
"Can not see, but several I sensed. Hard to sense, with the violent movements and quakes, but there were at least two. Was arriving from far off to sense, to defend...
- - - - - -
Jacob caught Rosemary as she nearly collapsed, stroking the back of her head.
You did good, dearest. This place... is definitely more dangerous than usual.
Milaku nodded in agreement to that. They are definitely on edge...
Jacob gave some of his necro-energy essence to Rosemary, as he suggested that she change shape to something smaller to cling onto his person, or act as air inside of his suit so he could help transport her for a while.
