Samuru stood silently as Jae was taken from Pelleg, his face dark and scowling as he glared at the floor between his shoes. His anger was overcoming his fear of hospitals and when Jae snapped at him, he turned sharply on his heel and left. Not a word, not a good bye or a get better....just left.

Breathing even, Jae dreamed of snow. The powdery white fields all encompassing around her. Despite being in her Konoha clothing she was not cold. Not even a chill seemed to creep upon her. Her gaze remained on the scenery before her. Frosted forest, undisturbed snow, clear sky and lightly falling flakes. It was for all purposes a heaven to the former Yukigakure Shinobi. Closing her eyes she sighed to herself. Wake up! And in that instant she did. Opening her Azure gaze she was staring up at white tiled ceiling. Hospital room, she noted as she looked at the four corners of the room. Her mid section ached dully, her muscles and ligaments sore from the rapid healing she had undergone. Sitting up slowly she also took note that she was alone, like she had requested. What were you expecting? You chased him off and he has been upset at you since we set out on this stupid mission. Jae was lost in thought, worry marring her brow. "Nurse!" The pink haired Kunoichi called out, waiting for someone to enter the room. The woman entered quickly, her expression pleasantly professional. "Yes? Good morning. How are you feeling?" "Sore but other than that, great. Thank your team for me when you get chance. Erm. When can I be discharged?" The nurse seemed accustomed to such a question because she checked the chart at the end of Jae's bed. Once she had read it she looked back up at her. "You are still under observation for a while longer but once you clear it you are free to go." Jae scowled and sunk into her pillows, arms crossed. It was worth a shot. "Anything I can get you in the mean time, Ms. Ketsueki?." "Nothing, thanks." Jae said, watching the nurse leave. Laying back some more she closed her eyes and tried to drift to her 'happy place'. Samuru's face was the only thing that kept popping into her mind and soon she slipped into a fretful dream.

Taka walked into the hospital to do her routine check before moving to the last few areas on her list. She walked up to the counter and made sure to check with the nurses and medical nin that everything wsa alright. When satisfied she would leave as silently as she came in.

Waking up from her nap, Jae asked the nurse for her discharge forms and was then allowed to leave the hospital. Getting her things together she rubbed her stomach a few times before slowly picking her way out of the hospital. She needed to make her report, even if Samuru already had.

Stopping right outside the hospital from her sprinting, Terra walked casually inside glistening in sweat and panting as little as possible to not disturb the patients. Leaning on the counter at the front desk, she managed a smile as she politely whispered her orders to the woman covering it. The woman, on the other hand, wasn't smiling at all at the orders but began using call boxes to begin a silent evacuation.

With a bowing of her head, Terra helped many of the citizens evacuate/lockdown the hospital. Some had to be rolled out, others couldn't be moved at all and were locked inside their own rooms with a nurse or doctor. Finally, there was the class of old people who spoke of how they could beat back the invaders with one eye closed, Terra simply nodding and agreeing with them as she led them out casually.

With a final walk around the hospital, she came back to its main doors. She took a few moments to collect herself. She then blurred to her next destination.

Noctis was rushed into the hospital he was quickly put on a bed and taken to a private room. They checked his body for wounds or injuries but found nothing. His temperature was high so they concluded that must have passed out from a fever. They called in the Hokage's doctor while they made him as comfortable as possible. Setting up an IV drip and making sure the room wasn't too hot. The guards who brought him were then ordered to return to their posts, they walked off speaking to each other."I wonder what happened? I remember the Hokage was talking to that sanmitai kid and some pink haired girl, they seemed to be raising their voices and awful lot to him, how dare they speak to the Hokage in such a manner."They then walked off.

Hanging back, Jae made sure to check the area of the hospital. She was still unsure what was going on and wanted to make sure it was safe. The council would kill her if she didn't go through proper procedures. Watching as the guards left she caught word of their conversation and scoffed to herself. Noctis overstepped his boundaries sometimes. It was only payback. Besides, she wasn't going to worship the ground he walked on. He was not a god. Just a temporary face to Konohagakure. Jae stood before the Hokage's room, knocking and entering. He was already set up, IV attached to his arm and the nurses flitting from corner to corner, arranging things. Spotting the doctor she warily approached him. "Was it something that should move the village into high alert? " She asked, implying about the cause of what had caused him to pass out. If someone was threatening his life she was going to have to call Taka and the other Jounin to get together and be on high alert.

The doctor looked at Jae, she was an elderly woman but she seemed very kind. When she asked what happened she seemed a bit hesitant. She looked at the other nurses motioning for them to leave. They did so and soon they were alone with Noctis resting body."It's nothing that should get the village into such a state, but its serious...on a more personal level." The nurse touched his forehead, feeling the heat she jotted some notes down.

Watching as the nurses were dismissed and filed out of the room, Jae stood to the side, hugging herself. It was colder in this room compared to the air from outside. She preferred the cold a million times more than the heat but it had been awhile since she had been in a cold area. Even a room. Looking to the doctor she coaxed an eyebrow, her confusion obvious. "Personal? Ermmm. Maybe this conversation isn't for me then. Should I bring his wife here?" Jae asked as the doctor began to write on her clipboard sheet. Any other time Jae would have hated having to go and find Eclipse but she had long since gotten over that. She was going to have to report this to her anyways. She deserved to know her husband was here before finding out that her Hokage had been hospitalized. Scratching her head she kept her gaze steady on the doctor. "I'm just a Jounin from the village. I was with him when he lost consciousness at the gates. It was a little sudden I haven't had time to send someone else to meet you here." Which was the truth. Where would she find Eclipse? Perhaps at their home?

The doctors keyboard snapped as she place something in it."The hokage's wife isn't in the village at this time, she's on a mission. As a shinobi she also has duties." The doctor had a lukewarm towel and she reached over the Hokage and placed it on his head. Their first priority was cooling his body down. Even if Jae decided to leave doctor kept talking."He's been sick for quite some time now, we can't figure out what it is. The symptoms are all over the place. I've never seen anything like it, I've told him to take a break for a few weeks but he always says that he there's paperwork to sign and genin that need their headbands. You know I think he actually enjoys doing those little things."The doctor then proceeded to laugh shortly like an old lady. She then looked up at Jae."Your name is Jae correct?" The old lady smiled and took a seat."I was also the doctor for the last Hokage, he spoke alot about you I especially remember when he told me what your hair color was."

Alrighty then. Still doesn't give me the right to hear the information... Just because Eclipse was not around did not make her next of kin. Jae figured doctors were more loosely lipped then people made them out to be. Especially older ones. As she explained his condition, she listened, crossing her arms over her chest. Leaning up against the wall she took a cool and detached expression as she took it all in. Figures. It wouldn't be something normal. Nothing was never normal in the world of the Shinobi. "You are able to stabilize him right?" Common question, otherwise he would be dead by now. The box inside of her stirred slightly, the chains rattling against the hundreds of locks she had over it. She didn't want to feel anything for Noctis. Worry, concern and anything else she was not inclined to. Her slip earlier had been because she had been caught by surprise. Why is she telling me all of this...? Jae questioned to herself, looking over at the doctor. At the mentioning of her name Jae perked up, pushing off from the wall to stand straighter. A knee jerk reaction to showing respect to those much older than she. "Yes...how do you..?" She didn't finish her thought because the woman was explaining how it was she knew who Jae was. The older Hokage. Jae became slightly excited. Her expression softened and she dropped her arms, letting off a small smile. "I was sad to see him go...I cared about him like a grandfather." She said, recalling all of her moments with the man. To this day he was the only man other than her father who had stripped down her defenses and allowed her to shine as she was. "I respect the current Hokage but you understand. The previous Hokage was like family to a stubborn pink haired kunoichi causing more trouble than she was worth." Jae felt light hearted now, her memories of the man were still fresh. She seemed relaxed now, younger almost. "The Hokage will fight whatever it is. That's his thing. He's too nosy to let it effect him for too long." She quipped, trying to steer the conversation back to the current Hokage's illness. She became stone faced as she did so.

The doctor nodded at Jae's question though it was obvious that they had or they would have had more people working on him to stabilize him. She listened her speak about the old Hokage."Yes, he was a very good man." Her hands glowed with chakra as she began doing a scan of the Hokage's vitals. She had a bit of a worried expression but smiled when the conversation went back to Noctis."Yes, he cared for you alot and only wanted what was best for you. But you know Noctis has some good qualities as well. He's just a bit rough around the edges." The doctor stopped scanning Noctis and continued writing."His fever has gone down but his body is getting in a worse condition then when I last saw him." Her eyebrows furrowed as she wrote. Going through her years of being a medic. Trying to figure out what was wrong it wasn't just a simple fever or flu. She looked up at Jae and smiled."I'm sure he will, He's strong like that." But on the inside she was worried.

Jae was unsure why they were having this conversation. She didn't need to be reminded of the past nor of the capabilities of the current Hokage. Frankly that seemed like the lesser of things to place on the top of the importance list. Not only that but she was starting to feel the fatigue on her body now. She hadn't properly rested from the attack out on the road nor from her little spat with Rakuin. Having no idea what was what when it came to anything medical she trusted the doctors words. "He's in your hands now doc. I'm sure the ANBU have mobilized already...They will more than likely be lingering around this hospital until he recovers but you probably already know this. Sorry for the inconveniences." She let out a sigh and stretched her arms above her head. I miss my bed. She whined to herself, despite the gravity of the situation. Feeling helpless over something that had little to nothing to do with her was frustrating so she would rather just leave now. "Is there anything you are going to need me for?" If she wasn't showing her discomfort for being here it was evident now. Her blue eyes darted from window to door and back again. Jae was perceptive and understood there was much more that the doctor wasn't telling her, by gestures alone but the pink haired woman didn't call her out on it.

The doctor listened to Jae, there wasn't that much she could do but wait for the Hokage to wake up. It shouldn't be too long now."Oh my dear, it's not an inconvenience at all. In truth I think it really helps patients to have people they care about visiting them. I'm sure Noctis appreciates it as well, though he'll never admit that to anyone."He raised her hand to her mouth to suppress a small laugh. The doctor shook her head at Jae's offer."No nothing, but I have a small request if you could when around Noctis could you..."The doctor stopped because she felt something touch her hand. She looked down to see it was Noctis hand over here. She looked at his face to see his eyes slowly open."Welcome back Hokage-sama."She said with a smile as Noctis looked around stopping Jae. He blinked a few times as if confirming he wasn't seeing things. He then seemed to remember what happened before he arrived."How long was I out?" He asked the doctor."Oh just over and hour or so, getting some well needed rest if you ask me." Noctis looked over at Jae."Thanks for guarding me while I was unconscious."He said barely above a whisper. Not like him to speak this way at all but he did seem a bit drained.

Listening quietly, Jae fought the urge to tell the doctor that this was nothing more than Jae following protocol. It wasn't as if she disliked Noctis but any more than obligatory sentiments that was all. He was her Hokage, she didn't want to have to be any more vested than that. Once upon a time she might have been impulsive enough to go down that road but it was closed off now, thanks to Samuru's existence in her life. Curiously enough the doctor was inclined to ask Jae to do something for her, something involving Noctis. Jae was instantly wary. Luckily for her she was stopped short by Noctis's sudden awakening. Dodged a bullet, whoot! Remaining behind while the doctor and him conversed she considered just slipping away but was stopped short by Noctis thanking her for guarding him. "No reason for you to thank me sir. Just doing what we were trained for." He sounded very different now, weak. Oh how the mighty have fallen. She thought to herself, crossing her hands behind her back as she looked off toward the side."Should I ask the council to have someone else step in for you, sir? It doesn't look like you are in any condition to be handling the affairs of the village..." Incurable disease that the hospital knew nothing about. For all they knew it was contagious and any and all people involved with him could one day just drop with the same symptoms. "Would you like for me to send word for your family? I'm sure they would like to be here with you." Jae had been accustomed to being on her own so when her mother and Samuru had not been by her side when she had awoken after returning from that ambush she had realized what loneliness truly was. She was sure he would be feeling something similar about now.
