Arriving at Totoma's café, Aria went about finding the first thing on the client's list. The first item needed was a piece of soft music in the form of a cd, and what better place to find it than the nightclub? Wandering up to the off-duty dj, Aria introduced herself. "Sir, if I could have a moment of your time," she said, bowing slightly to show respect. Going over the client's needs to the dj, she waited as he went to retrieve a simple copy. Looking around the joint, Aria noticed that the place wasn't all clean and friendly. There were what seemed to be low life scum crawling around, hanging around in the corners. Aria did not want to be caught up in their dealings, and kept to the sunshine streaming in through a propped open side door. After a little while, the dj reappeared with the cd in hand. "Thank you," she replied as she stashed the music, taking the quickest way out from Totoma's café.

It was a short trip to the cafe and Minowa did well, keeping pace with his tall father as Sypher walked in silence. Thinking. Always thinking but now he didn't like what he was thinking and as they entered the cafe, Sypher felt unsettled by his thoughts as he held the door for Jae to enter "Minowa, go find a table for us. Somewhere out of the way, ok?" the child nodded and darted off, weaving between tables and waiters to find a table near the back. Climbing into the seat, he waited patiently for the other two to join him.

The duration of the trip had been short but she had remained in silence, watching her surroundings and staying alert. She was by no means stupid enough to let her guard down, despite being told in an abstract way that she would be allowed to stay here for the time being. Hands clenched at her sides she watched as Sypher told the child something and watched as it sauntered off towards a table at the back of this establishment. Watching Sypher now, with the same wary look he had given her, she pressed her lips into a firm line and entered as he held the door open for her. She did not like leaving her back open to strangers. Especially in enemy territory. Following the path the child had paved, she reached the table and took a seat on the opposite side of the kid, preferring to keep the exits in her peripherals. The heady scents of food wafted toward her and her stomach seemed to spark alive at the prospects of being fed. She had forgotten the last time it was she had sat down to actually eat something. Supplements, bread and the occasional piece of dried meat were all she could afford time for, stomach and make the effort for. "I'm not hungry." Jae stated simply, causing her stomach to growl noisily despite her words and will. Closing her eyes she tried to gain control of her bodily functions. "With all do respect sir, I would rather not be sitting here idly if I can help it..." It was more than clear she was uncomfortable, was he making this mandatory. If he ordered it did she have a choice? Not really.... Jae assumed, looking away from child and Kage. Her eyes seemed to dull slightly as she slipped away, her unstable mind taking her far away from where she was. It took a few seconds for her to return and she blinked rapidly a few times when she did. Letting out a shaky breath of air she clenched her fists and set them on her thighs underneath the table. Closing and opening them she did this for a few seconds without thought.
"Then don't eat." Sypher replied bluntly, sitting down at the table as well. He honestly didn't care if she ate or not but he was hungry and so was Minowa "Who said we'd be sitting idle? I have an aversion to my office currently which is why we are not speaking there." he motioned to a waiter and ordered egg drop soup for Minowa and dumplings for himself...and Jae, if she decided to stop being so pig headed and listen to her stomach "..." he watched her as she seemed to mentally wander off, his gaze narrow Will she really be helpful? If she can't even keep herself here....what use is she? as the dumplings came, he took one, biting into it and chewing for a few minutes. Minowa sipped his soup. Finishing one, Sypher tapped the table "Tell me...why are you here? Kiri and Konoha are on foul terms thanks to that Uchiha. So why come?" he took another dumpling but merely dropped it on his plate to be eaten later.

It seemed that all Kage's had an aversion to their offices. The first Kage she had met in Konoha had been the only one to actually be in his office. It was a pleasant contrast to the younger Kage's in this generation that made their shinobi come and look for them. Looking to the waitress Jae asked her for some warm water. Jae no longer craved things that used to bring her small pleasure. Hot chocolate, tea, yuzu...none of it appealed to her anymore. Why she was here? Jae stayed silent for a second, mulling over her response. She was unsure just how detailed she wanted to be or needed to be. "I'm waiting for the people who attacked Konoha to arrive. I am waiting to annihilate as many of them as I can. If possible I would like to find the one who is pulling their strings and personally send them to hell." Despite the passion, the anger and the malice that should have sounded in her voice and shown in her expression, Jae was calm and spoke as if she were reciting words from a speech. Looking up as the waitress placed the steaming cup of water before her, Jae reached for the cup timidly and held the hot item in her hands. It should have been a little too hot for comfort the way she was holding it but warmth no longer seemed to reach her. She was cold, not just from the fog that clung to Kirigakure but internally. Taking a sip she set the tea cup on it's platter and met the Mizukage's gaze. Was that enough to suffice as an answer? She was unsure.
Looking to the child that sat with them at the table she smirked. A small piece of her returned while she watched him slurp up the thick soup."It's not for revenge, nor for Konoha nor for political reasons. I'm throwing a tantrum...you could say." The small smirk faded as she felt the wrongness inside of her churn. It reached out quickly and pulled any of the old Jae, that had tried to surface in that instance, back into the murky core of her mind. Expression placid she flickered her gaze to Sypher. Tapping one finger on the table, her urge to get up and leave was strong as she watched him. It wasn't like she had anywhere else to look and if she did she knew her mind would wander. It was hard enough keeping herself here in the present. "The Hokage doesn't know I am here technically and he can't stop me even if he wanted to. I wont disclose anything about Kirigakure nor about Konoha. I will stay relatively out of the way until they arrive..." Jae stated, just in case her reasoning wasn't enough to vouch for her good behavior inside Kirigakure.
Utter and total bull. Well, not all of it, Sypher could tell that much though the rest of it...Throwing a tantrum? That's a lie...but its not my business... he thought, letting her finish what she was saying "...with such strong words, I'd expect more of a reason."Unless she's just looking to go out with a bang. Which somehow, I could believe. Where are her emotions? Sypher tilted his head, just looking at her, examining her. He didn't like how she didn't appear to exist...her body was here, her mind was...almost there. But it was like parts of her had broken off and disappeared, leaving a half person behind. He moved the dumpling around the plate "I don't care for information about Konoha. That village will run itself into the ground with its arrogance so its no concern of mine." unlike Jae's calm composure, Sypher's open disdain and dislike of Konoha resonated in his voice "I'm not, however, looking to start a fight with them. You say you're here without the Hokage's knowledge. Again, that's of little concern to me...except if you are here as a rogue. If you are, then things change." he leaned back and Minowa looked up at him, a little soup mustache on his upper lip. Sypher grabbed a napkin, wiping the mustache clean before speaking again "But. I don't want to know about that right now. Tell me about this enemy."

Slowly rolling the tea cup between her hands she respond to his judgement on her reasoning. It was the truth, whether or not he chose to believe it. He didn't know her, didn't understand her. She wouldnt expect him to. Revenge was carried out when a person wanted to settle a score so that they could live their future in peace. She had no plans of sticking around that long. So revenge wasnt it. Jae was definitely not doing it for Konoha either. The bird sage just wanted to exercise her voice through her actions. To channel the rage left inside her and let them feel how she was feeling. As he talked of Konoha, she turned her head to the side, her mind starting to wander. The revolutions she was making with the cup slowed and then stopped as she stopped paying attention. "I'm not a rouge." She said, her voice a murmur and her gaze still distant. That was the one thing she would never allow to tarnish her name. Rouge were cowards and egoists. They ran from their problems and that was her viewpoint on the matter. Her pride, or what pride she used to have, did not allow her to align behind that label. "They will come in mass numbers.... Either they will try to overcome the gates or somehow they will mysteriously enter from some other weak point..." Looking to him she began to squirm. It still hurt to recall every single detail but she was going to try. "They will use explosives and machine like weapons to destroy your buildings and create panic on the inside." Coaxing her head to one side she traced invisible designs into the table top as she shuffled through the things she had learned. "The pattern of the demons appearing when they do sounds about right. They do emerge when a demon is not far. For some greater goal? I am not sure but the chaos they wish to create inside the village doesnt change..." She stopped, looking to the exit of the establishment. "In the begging it was just mass numbers of followers but now they have shinobi employed under them, as you probably have already experienced." Her voice grew softer and softer until she stopped speaking altogether. Looking down at her tea cup she let out a short sigh. Rubbing her eye she seemed to shrink into herself a bit. She was tired.
Sypher rubbed his nose, thinking Not a rogue but not traveling under the sanction of a Kage....ok then. he leaned back in his chair to listen to her assessment of the enemy "...I'm aware of their numbers at least minimally." the idea of anything getting into his village that wasn't welcome was unsettling We'll need to expand the plantings of that flower. he thought, his face going still as he started to make mental preparations "Machine like weapons?" he sat up, interested in this new development. He hadn't seen anything like that when he'd fought them though perhaps some of the ones he'd killed had had them "I know of their shinobi...I've fought some and I was not impressed...but tell me about these weapons. What are they? What do they do?"

Minimally? She coaxed her head to one side. They would get in. No matter what it seemed, they would find a way to enter. She could not recount how many people she had hit hard enough to render them useless for days but those same individuals had gotten to their feet like nothing. It was the annoying pacifism that had lost them that battle. Jae should not have shown mercy to them, enemy or innocent. "When they come...don't hesitate to chop them into pieces." She muttered, righting herself as she raised the cup to her lips and took a sip. The water was quickly starting to become lukewarm. Casting her gaze downwards at the table she looked rather meek sitting there before the two. Her body language spell the discomfort she felt sitting idly here. Her hands dropped to her lap once more, curling into tight fists. He wanted to know about the weapons. "Right now it's rumors... they are things no shinobi has dealt with before...Unfortunately that is the limit of my knowledge about the weapons. Kumogakure might know more, actually, but its in a state of chaos, hence my aversion to going anywhere near there for more information." Her explanation was curt. Eyebrows furrowed she tried to remember something else, anything else but it was getting hard for her at the moment. She had wanted to go to Kumogakure and sniff out what was going on there but something inside of her told her not to. She had not 'felt' something that strongly in awhile and decided to trust her instincts. She did not want to walk into some sort of trap, not when she was just starting this quest.
Sypher was starting to wonder if there wasn't something seriously wrong with this woman. She was both attentive and detailed but at the same time she was so totally out of it that she didn't seem to know what was going on. It didn't seem like she had much...at least, not enough to be helpful. The enemy attacked in groups, massive groups, sneaks into villages to cause chaos and kill with advanced weapons that no one knows about....."..."Next to useless... he thought But more then we had. Its worth keeping her around if she'll be helpful. motioning that he wanted to take the dumplings with him, Sypher looked at Jae "Very well. You're granted permission to stay in the village until we are...attacked. I'll have someone go to Kumogakure in a few days to gather more information." He looked to Minowa who had finished his soup and was eating the cookie that had come from somewhere while they were talking. Sypher stood, pushing the chair back "If you remember anything or wish to share any more of what you know, I'm relatively easy to find. If you can't find me at the office, have someone escort you to the temple. That's usually where I am if not the office." he extended his hand to Minowa and the child took it, hoping off the chair "There are apartments set up for visiting shinobi. You may find one that suits you and occupy it till you leave..." he hesitated, his thoughts rearranging themselves "...I do not wish to start a war with Konohagakure. Please do not die at any time while you are here." he finally said, meaning that she should be careful. All this said, he bowed slightly to Jae and, with Minowa in tow, they left.

Taking in what he said silently, she stood as he exited and she followed him out with her gaze, long before he was gone. Blinking in quick succession she took a seat and sat there, staring off into space. She was not sure what to do now. It was as if she almost hadn't expect to come this far. Truth be told she hadn't. Closing her eyes slightly she recited her goals once more in her head before getting up and leaving. She thanked the woman who had served her and headed out to find something to do in the meantime. [exit]
Taking a seat where she had an easy view of the whole of the diner and had her back against the booth. Jae ordered hot water with a lemon slice when the waitress came her way. Her stomach was churning and food was utterly impossible at the moment. Jae was losing weight like crazy now, who knew the best diet was misery? With a heavy sigh she placed her head in her hands, closing her eyes tightly. A lot of information had been passed in the office, the biggest sliver of information having rocked her to the core. Samuru....possibly being alive and in Kumogakure. About him being not allowed to leave. Jae rapped her fingers lightly on the countertop, unease spreading within her. She didn't want to believe it...didn't want to accept the possibility. It was hard not to reach out for that hope. So very hard. Already her will was crumbling and it was taking everything inside of her not to just leave Kirigakure and go to Kumogakure to affirm the validity of what Jack had said. She couldn't do that. Not when she had promised Kirigakure her aid. That and she was not ready to go and seek out the truth in the information she had been fed. If it was false....she wouldn't survive it this time around. It would literally kill her.
The little box that had been given to her by Samuru's mother weighed heavy in her bag. So much so that she removed it from it's place and set it on the table before her. She stared at it in silence, refusing to do anything but look at it. It was the equivalent to pandora's box to her. If she opened it all of the ugly emotions she kept inside of her would pour out. She would rather feel empty than feel everything all at once. What if he is alive? That dark seedling took root in her mind and over her heart. As overjoyed as she should feel she felt an ugly darkness push forward. Her grip over the box tightened. What was this feeling? It was almost as if she didn't want it to be true. Groaning she shoved the box back into her black bag and dumped her head into her hands. She was at a loss for what to do now. The old her would have gotten up and have already been at Kumogakure's gates by now, demanding information on Samuru but the shell of a person she was now, the coward she had turned into, did not allow that.
A waitress spotted her and curiously looked around. Noting that she was alone she approached her. "Are you alright hun? Waitin' on someone?" Jae slowly removed her head from her hands and stared at the woman. They looked like they were the same age. Giving the door a cursory glance she returned her bright cerulean gaze to the woman. "Is it that obvious?" Her question was soft, her voice low. Obviously she had been sitting for quite sometime now if someone had come to her. "If he is this late....maybe he isn't coming." There was pity in the woman's voice, causing some small part of the original Jae to stir. Slowly she let that feeling disappear before she responded. "It's not what you think." Letting out a little sigh, as if the waitress herself had knowledge than Jae did despite their probable age similarity, she began to scold Jae. "You should never let yourself be disrespected like this. You are a too pretty for that!" Looking away from the woman she let out a small sigh. I don't have time for this... She thought, growing impatient. Where on Earth was that Kage? Looking down at her hands, where they now rested clenched in her lap, she refused to make anymore eye contact and it probably made her look meek. The waitress automatically assumed this was Jae taking her words into consideration. She began to rant about life lessons and what not as Jae sat there and removed herself mentally from the situation. She didn't return to planet Earth until the waitress patted her on the shoulder. Flinching Jae fought the urge to grab her wrist and twist it until she heard a pop. The waitress realized she had startled Jae and let go. "Well if you ever need to talk again, just come by. I am all ears." Watching as the woman walked away, she tried to recall what in the entire one sided conversation made the waitress think she needed someone to talk to. It was then that Jae noticed, as she looked down at her water, that there was a piece of pie of some sorts and a steaming cup of possibly coffee placed before her. Her stomach came to life, Jae slowly taking a fork and stabbing tiny pieces around the plate before placing a small piece in her mouth and slowly chewing. Anything to keep her mind distracted.
Sypher came into the cafe, looking ruffled and annoyed by something. He wiped the annoyance off his face as he spotted Jae and made his way over, sitting quickly "I'm sorry, Ketsueki-san. Jack's report.....was lengthy. My apologies." he dipped his head in apology to her. He glanced up and nearly made eye contact with a known flirt and chat waitress and quickly looked away, motioning that he didn't want anything "So....you asked for my help and I'm willing to help. What do you want me to do?" he asked, watching.

Spotting Sypher enter the cafe, she sat up straighter, as if she already wasnt. The waitress who had pounced on her earlier froze in the middle of whatever she was doing to stare, open mouthed, at the pair of them. Told you it wasn't what you thought. Looking away from Sypher, she didn't make eye contact but watched from the corner of her eye as he dipped his head in apology. Formalities were not things she was used to dealing with. Nodding slowly, she clenched her hands tightly together on her lap. "Just Jae is fine." Never would she adhere to formalities. It made her feel like a robot. He was busy, she expected that. Sucking in a small breath she glanced at him, her eyes meeting his briefly before looking over his shoulder and then to another place in the room. "I need to get to the next level and in Konoha that wasn't possible. There were too many things there holding me back. Kiri is known for it's ability to produce good Shinobi. All I want is to learn as much as I can here in the hopes of getting enough experience to reach that next level." She took a breath, getting straight to the point had always been her style and she was sure he would appreciate it now that he was so busy.
She poked at the little cut up pieces of pie on her plate. Chasing it around the dish with a fork she finally stabbed it and then set the fork down against the saucer. "I want to be ready..." For the end? For the fight? She wasn't sure anymore and this bothered her greatly. Feeling empty was a lot easier than feeling again. The possibility of him being alive had done shitty things to her resolve and her plans for a way out of this messed up world. Now she felt like she was standing on uneven ground at the starting line. Back to square one. Jae needed to do something or she was going to explode and potentially self destruct or hurt herself or others in the process. "I know I am messed up, but I can assure you I have it under control. I wouldn't be here if I didn't." She said softly. He had so brusquely pointed that out at their last meeting and that was the only disagreement she could think of that he might have. Any person would hate having their faults pointed out, especially faults jam packed with personal issues. She had to make sure it wasn't brought up again and thrown at her face.
