Krissim Klaw Akari_32 You just gotta know where to look wink But yes, alot of people have $30+ shipping, on a $2 fish. Stupid... Is that price really that outrageous though for what I am assuming will probably be overnight shipping? I drop $25 to have my mantises shipped to me and that can very well be more expensive than the nymph itself but I rather pay to have something shipped overnight in a properly insulated packaged box than go cheap and have a live animal die in the mail. Yeah, if you're close. International shipping can easily be double, and can be a week or so untill you get your fish D= Though now, some are discovering $5 priotety shipping. Not too many, but some xd

It's usually $22 for express shipping if you're getting a fish directly from a breeder (as long as it's not a huge fish). Express does not guarantee it will get there over night, it guarantees it will get there within 2 days (this is usps mind, I don't know much about how fedex and ups work.) Meanwhile priority guarantees within 5 days I believe, with it usually arriving in 2-3 days. Priority is a heck of a lot cheaper, and as long as they are packed properly and the weather is good for sending fish, then both methods work well. I have had good and bad experiences with both types of shipping. The good thing is most sellers will refund you for DOA if you opt for express.

I have had good and bad experiences with both types of shipping. The good thing is most sellers will refund you for DOA if you opt for express. I sort of agree that express almost doesn't seem worth it because it seems like when I get items via priority ups things arrive within 2 days anyways. I am pretty sure the lady I I get the mantises from uses Fedex. It is overnight so I always get the next day and you have to sign for it. I really love how she ships her mantises because she cuts and adds insulation to all sides of the boxes plus will add hot/cold packs depending on temperatures. I don't tend to like ordering from anyone who doesn't guarantee a refund/reshipping should the animals arrive DOA. For me it is more than merely protecting myself but knowing that if a seller is offering that than they really care about what they are shipping and making sure the animal arrives alive and well. There are some sellers that will ship mantises via slower/cheaper methods, but you really are ordering at your own risk and shouldn't be surprised if you get a package full of dead nymphs, especially if the weather is unfavorable.

lol totally lost track of what you guys were discussing, to many posts.
the news is that I'm busy evil haven't been to the fish store since the guy told me about possibly ordering what I want. I might go tomorrow, if it rains enough that the boss sends us home. I might even work an early shift but, if we have to wait around to see if we're even working that day then it will be a normal shift it's all up in the air. Otherwise, it will be Friday.

My tank has been so lonely with just 3 fish in it for over two weeks now lol. But the levels are all good. No sign of ammonia or nitrite and even the nitrate has remained barely noticeable. The hawaiins have settled in nicely. They no longer spend their time in hiding, even when I'm opening the lid, they actually realize now they will get food. Oh and...Blaze loves to drink from the fish tank. I hope this is okay. She also like to bathe in the filter...come to think of it, that may be what caused it to trickle so lightly lol.

PLECO IN DA HHOOUUUSSSEEE!
lol, SO after two weeks of waiting, researching and waiting some more. I ended up with a clown after all xd
I spoke with the manager. According to HIM they don't exactly order specific fish. More like, put in a request. So it wouldn't be a sure thing and no clue how long it would take. They did have a butterfly plec but it wasn't black and yellow like the photos I've seen. Plus he said they can get up to 7inch same as the snowball (which, by the way, every time I see it my heart breaks at not being able to have it.)
So I brought home a clown plec today. And am breaking my own rules by not posting pics asap. My cam broke months ago, my dad is away and took his and my other cam is a video cam, taking pics with it is tricky. So will need to record and upload video basically or just wait till parents get home and take some pics.
He's super cute. I dunno what to name him yet.... hmmm, maybe Sirius Black! But he's not actually black... Remus Lupin? Norbert? yyyeeaahh, I been re reading Harry Potter lol. I'm tempted to have a theme with my tank. Name every fish after a character from the same movie/book/comic/show wtv lol

They oviously cant have every fish that their suppiers have in stock, so they "order" the fish, and see what they can get lol Cant wait for pics!!

I vote sirius too! That's what I'm probably gonna name my dog when I get one. And my snake will be either Riddle or Nagini, depending on gender.
Can't wait for pics! How is he so far with visibility?

Can't wait for pics! How is he so far with visibility?Well he does camouflage into the sand lol. Which is why I had spent so long looking for a dark one. Plus he's hiding. Absolutely loving all the hides I created lol. But the lights are off now for that 24hr adjustment period thing lol

Okay, update on the FEESH guys!
The hawaiins have gotten pretty damn comfortable. In fact now when I put my hand in they "attack" it in the hopes that it contains food stare
But I'll take that over always looking for them in the plants lol. They seem to enjoy playing in the current of the filter. Aannddd biting the strings that hold the plants down evil
As for pleco. I debated with a few names. I almost called him Plecanek cause there's a hockey player named that, but in the end I realized it has to be Shy.
I know someone asked at some point about visibility. It takes me several minutes to find him. Only cause I got good eyes. He loves to hang out in the "cave" created by the groove in the driftwood. But he either settles into the sand or will hang upside down on the ceiling of said cave. Either way he blends in PERFECTLY.
The hawaiins are being super bratty, they keep eating HIS algea wafers stressed
ugh, I hope Shy grows out of this at least enough to eat his food, I'm getting pretty worried that he's gona starve himself.
