As the shurikens flew at him the sand in his gourd shot out wrapping him in a protective shroud as they tinked away harmlessly hitting the ground around him.

Is whether they use a human shield or make themselves one.

Tonbo blinked "All we have to do is take bells?" He grinned and got up "That's going to be a cake walk." He said as he cracked his knuckles.

"Well to say it plainly if you fail it you will be sent back to the academy" he laughed a bit as he ordered another serving of ramen. "And then you know I don't think your parents will be very proud of you" he laughed a bit as he looked at Ayame.

"Ooh, right in the family pride." Ayame said jokingly and chuckled, slurping up some more delicious ramen. He had no worries about the test.

Tayu chuckled. "So you think. Ready?" She leapt up onto Kita's back, and the hawk launched himself into the air. "Go!" Immediately, the Yamanaka twins leapt into the air after them, but Kita swerved so their attack fell short.

Rei followed, practically bouncing as she tried to contain her eagerness. She really wanted to be a shinobi like her parents, and she hoped she'd be able to work well with this team.

"Well, that was as expected," Shizuka said, hopping down from one of the higher sandstone cliffs.

Looking up at the voice Kai lifted his hand up as the sand around him fell to the ground. Not long after it did the sand started to bead up and began firing sand shurikens towards Shizuka. She was apparently going to train some with him so he didn't plan to let her have any real down time. Moving forwards slowly the sand in his gourd dropped to the ground and shot towards Shizuka a large hand shooting out of it as it tried to grab her during the continued barrage of sand shurikens.

"We will see then" he chuckled as his next order of ramen arrived. "But I hope your right i wouldn't mind teaching you three I think I can make something worth while of the lot of you" he laughed digging into the food as he looked at his three genin. This would be an interesting bunch to say the least.

"All right, we're here." Zane said after walking his students out to the designated area. He turned to face them and got serious. "As I said before, I want the three of you to try and take these bells using any means you see fit. There's a catch, there's three of you and only two bells, this means only two can pass. Whoever is left without a bell will be sent back to the academy for more training. If any of you feel you're not up for this, say so now and go home, otherwise, you have your task. We'll go as long as we need to." Zane said simply and hooked the bells to his belt and looked over his students to see who was nervous and who seemed to be the most impulsive.

The sand shuriken connected, but Shizuka disappeared in a puff of smoke. "Nice try, there," she said from behind him. The Shizuka above Kai had been a clone. "Almost had me, if it'd been real." Before she even finished the sentence, Shizuka slid her fan, open only to the first circle, from her back and swung it, sending a wave of wind blades at the genin.

Rei wasted no time in pulling a shuriken from her pouch and throwing it, aiming for the string attaching one of the bells to Zane's belt. She was going to make this team, and nothing was gonna stop her!

"Admirable, but fruitless if you can't cut through the target." Zane stated simply as the shuriken hit the string then bounced away. "This isn't ordinary string, it's a high tensile steel thread, normally I like to use it for slicing through things discretely, but it works just as well." Zane stated happily, oh how he loved his marvelous wife and her amazing metal abilities.

Looking up towards Shizuka just as the wind strike was coming down ontop of him. Not moving the blades hit Kai several times as a cloud of dust came up from around him. After settling it was evident that what she had hit was only a sand clone as it stood there still cracked and starting to fall apart. Falling to the ground it shattered into the final amount of pieces. The sand around the area was silent as Kai had vanished likely beneath it's surface.

Rei growled a little. Well, that was just peachy! She wasn't going to wait for her teammates to make a move before trying again. She rushed forward. Who knows, perhaps a straightforward attack might actually work.

Shizuka chuckled. "Good move, good move," she muttered, smirking. She closed her eyes and stood completely still, letting her other senses take over. If she couldn't see Kai, it was better to cut off her sight completely and listen, taste, smell, and feel the air around her for hints.

"You know, maybe you would have better luck at this if you coordinated with Shu and Nimbus." Zane said simply, dodging Rei's attack effortlessly.

The area was still silent. As usual Kai was not one for small talk as hands began to raise out of the sand trying to grip towards Shizuka. They were trying to grab her and pull her under the sand. Kai was still not to be found his sand hiding his chakra as his chakra along with the shikaku's was laced thru out it. "Sand Wave" Kai's voice called as the sand shook an earthquake seeming to shake the earth as on one side a large wave as coming towards Shizuka. Floating in the sky Kai was standing arms crossed atop a floating circle of sand.

Nimbus had taken the chance to fill in the gaps for Rei's strikes, if she punched right, he kicked left. He was rather slow since he was so tired, but he could hold his own. "Hey... what if we break the bells into three pieces each?"

Shu knew better. How could they ask for teamwork knowing one will fail? And how do you form a 3-man-cell with two people? For now, he watched and waited.
