Feeling her cooling skin, Kaelthas let her go from his grasp. His own skin, in the places that they had been touching was bright red from the heat he had endured to try to calm her. "Aurum, you have my word, I only kept the truth from you to keep the both of us safe. It was the reason for all the secrecy in my actions" he said standing there looking down at her. After laying himself bare last night physically, now he was doing the same in front of her again. "The truth wasn't something I hid simply to spite you or as a way to play with you" he commented as he crossed his arms. He didn't know quite how to handle the situation he was in. Usually when he was caught in a lie, it was not something that he cared much for but with her, things were different.

The little dragoness let her eyes wander over the red skin she had left Kael with, and she closed her eyes as he spoke to her. Rubbing them with her now free hands, she wiped them of their moisture only to find more replaced it. This wasn't common territory for the young girl, and she didn't know what to do or how to feel. Most of her mind begged her to release the anger and forgive, but her stubbornness shone through as she huffed to try and hide the fact she was spilling tears. There were going to be a lot of consequences he did not and would not understand that the dragoness would face because of the actions of just this morning, let alone the night before. Aurum turned and started to walk again, knowing he was grasping for more reasons but she didn't need to hear them. She knew what they felt was not just a result of the bread - or the alcohol.. but she had an ache in her when she thought of how she called his name into the night, knowing now that it was a false one attached to a persona he created as a way to trick her.

Giving a small sigh, Kaelthas shook his head. He had wanted to come clean eventually of who he was to her but things had progressed far faster then he had intended. Rubbing the back of his head he flicked a hand thru his long black hair as it fell over his shoulder. Taking up a quickened pace, Kaelthas fell in step next to Aurum. He didn't know what to say and until she had a chance to cool off some he figured it was better to not talk to her.

Aurum walked for quite a while in silence, something he had experienced from her before. It was.. quite a while, over an hour, before she had stopped and dug into her pack, pulling out her flask and taking a deep drink of it. She offered it to Kael, not looking directly to him. Her skin was cool to the touch, but her look was still hard and she had processed only a few things that she had not understood from herself. Aurum sighed, her eyes still red despite having quit watering long before. Her words were quiet and she had little of the life in her tone, something uncharacteristic of the dragoness, "There was a second present, by the way," She murmured, the first words she had spoken to him since commanding him to release her.

As his partner stopped, Kaelthas looked at her as she offered him the flask. Shaking his head in denial of it he passed on it. Her look towards him was still hard, and there was an angered flame in it that was slowly dying but still hung strong. "A second?" To be honest, that Aurum even cared enough to mention the presents she had gotten him surprised him greatly. Here he thought at least for the moment that she hated him. Thinking to the gift he had gotten her, he shook his head. Should he be able to get her to forgive him, maybe then it would be a good idea to give it to her.

"Well, technically a third," She muttered, recalling how he had also claimed her as a gift, and her mouth tugged at a smile, though she didn't look to him. Instead, she put the flask away and dug into her pack. "It's safer to have a glimmer on.. especially now," She wasn't jesting, but she was trying to at least be civil. Aurum pulled out the scroll she had purchased for Kael, something that had cost her far more than the trinkets she had purchased for herself. The dragoness offered the magic to Kael, finally looking up to the man. "I made sure the whole spell was there, too," Just in case he thought she might have been trying to hurt him.

Reaching out Kael took it in his hand slowly, seeming to think things over as he looked down at it. A different glimmer, This was probably a time when it was best to have one on more often. Word that the human prince was likely soon to start spreading thru the land of beasts. Opening it up for a moment, Kaelthas looked it over slowly. The entire spell was there but a few parts were harder to read then others. It was an old spell that he was certain of, but one that would still work. With it being the first time of casting the spell, unlike many he could cast with only a few words, the entire spell needed to be spoken. "Are you sure you want me to have this?" he asked her rolling the scroll up and looking to her unsure of her actions.

"I wouldn't have spent so much if I didn't," Aurum murmured, looking away away with a huff through her nostrils. Of course she wanted him to have it, she had no use for a scroll to pretend to look like a dragon. The woman looked back to him, as if expecting him to use the scroll. "I wanted to give it to you before we left the inn," Tone a touch softer, the dragoness returned her pack to her back, knowing he had eyed her with unsure expression, trying to size up her intentions.

Opening the scroll again Kael again perused it's words. As a glimmer he had little fear of miss wording any of it from parts that had worn away thru the years. "pelle draconis dedisti . et inambulabo inter eos, et ambulabunt ut fratres. me miserum aspicite et qui nesciunt quid sit in specie seu forma" he chanted as he was suddenly engulfed by a swirl of black and red smoke. After a moment the smoke was suddenly blown away as a figure now stood where the prince once stood. "I don't think this was the right string of words" he muttered looking at himself. Running his hands along his self he could feel the horns that were upon his head. That was a bit odd for him to be able to feel them. Usually a glimmer was just an illusion.

There was an interest in her eyes as he cast the spell.. illusions were not something she practiced and she was piqued by his ability to use them. The smoke that surrounded him gave off an odd magic that made the dragoness furrow her brow.. it was weirdly similar to the magic he gave off when not in a glimmer, only it was far stronger once the smoke cleared and she got a good look of him. Aurum's curiosity seemed to shine through and she put up a hand to stop him in case he tried to dispel it, "No, I think you might have cast something far more interesting," Said the woman vaguely, moving up to Kael and touching his wings and horns with an odd sense of examination. Yep, definitely giving off the same magic he did, only with much more strength. Aurum came back to his front, looking up to him, "Keep this form, it gives off the same type of magic you do."

"Dabbling with a miscasted spell is not a very goo-" before he was able to finish the sentence the same smoke covered him again. Coughing as he waved his hand back and forth to try and dispel it he stepped out again in his regular form. Reaching up he touched his head to feel that the horns and features were gone. "I am unsure of to what exactly that was" Kaelthas said looking himself over. He had only enough time to give a small inspection of himself before the spell had ended. Looking back down to the spell scroll he perused it over again. Somewhere in it he had missed something or misread something. It took him a few moments to find it, a line all but lost to the annual of time. "pelle draconis dedisti . et inambulabo inter eos, et ambulabunt ut fratres. me miserum aspicite et qui nesciunt quid sit in specie seu forma. Et pono quod nullus sequitur error meus" he muttered chanting again. A white fog coated mist fell over him. Again he stepped out of it this time his form holding the tell tell dragonic resemblances that Aurum could likely see.

Hm, the dragoness pursed her lips as the spell went away and he then replaced it with the correct one, though his dragon form was pretty nice to look at too. Though she was still interested in what must have happened, she made a note to purchase a demonic glimmer at the next chance she got. Aurum knew that sense, she just couldn't figure out why he gave it off. She had gotten him sloshed to the point that if he had another glimmer on, he would not have been able to hold it. Perhaps it had something to do with the book he wanted.. remembering that, the woman nodded to him and continued on their journey, far less intrigued by his dragon shape than the demonic one.

Looking at Aurum after the glimmer was activated, Kaelthas waited expecting her to say something towards it. When he only had received a nod he gave a small sigh. She was still mad at him, in some ways he couldn't blame her. Walking next to her Kaelthas kept silent for a moment. After some time he had grown tired of the silence between them. "Kaelthas Vanailin" the prince finally said after some time. Giving her his real name, rather then the pseudo name he had given her seemed like a step in the right direction.

If he expected the dragoness to let it go easily, it was going to be a long trip. It would probably be long anyway, the information had driven a sort of wedge between them that was almost tangible. When he spoke, her head turned towards him slightly, but she didn't look up. "Nice name, what's this character do for a living?" Came a curt reply. Sure, she gave him the glimmer, but it was more for the sake of her nose. It masked some of the scent that she couldn't get away from - them. Aurum had her tiny chin tilted up a little as they walked. An adventure she was planning to continue for as long as he would stay with her, now a chore she wanted to rush to complete.

Giving a small sigh to her reply, the prince kept going. He didn't want to cause any more of a wedge to form in between them so just kept quiet. What was the point of conversing currently if everything he said simply pissed her off at him more. Quickening his pace some what in frustration he got ahead of Aurum. The next town was a full day away, a trip that he wanted now more the ever to complete faster then before. just the day prior they had been almost like a budding couple, now the two had said only a hand full of words between each other for hours.
