Sure he was hiding pretty well, but it was obvious that he was listening in on... the Hokage? Wasn't he just in his office? Katsuya shrugged, figuring it could perhaps be a clone in the office. Either way, he should probably say something. Raising his voice, he shouted, "hey! I saw you on the way over here. You know you might want to make it little less obvious that you're hiding. You look so suspicious it's ridiculous. Seriously wearing all black in broad daylight?"

Passives • Elemental Specialist: You are only able to have one (1) chosen chakra element. Your elemental ninjutsu possess greater power, allowing them to overwhelm techniques of the same element and rank, and preventing them from succumbing to elemental weaknesses. You begin with two (2) additional ninjutsu slots, and earn an additional three (3) ninjutsu slots whenever you rank up. • Mystic Hero: The user is much like a hybrid warrior, focusing on mixing ninjutsu into their personal arsenal. Through their great devotion to this path the user can cast ninjutsu without hand seals while wielding a weapon, D at gennin, C at chunnin, B at Jounin, A at Konin, and S at Sannin. These techniques maintain the same description and criteria to use, as well as require the same amount of time to mold the chakra through the weapon as would be needed to perform hand seals, meaning the techniques are not instantaneously cast. The user’s spirit is so strong, that they can utilize their physical bukijutsu techniques to negate ninjutsu techniques of the same rank or below. • Raiton Prodigy: Raiton techniques have their strength greatly increased, overwhelming all techniques one rank above the one he used. All except fuuton techniques, although he can overwhelm ones of the same rank. This dedication to Raiton techniques however leaves his Maruton neglected, making those techniques cost an additional ten chakra. • Godspeed: Moderate increase to speed. • Espionage: As the heir to the Azuma clan Katsuya's abilities in stealth are unmatched, even allowing him to go as far as to completely erase his presence and any killer intent coming off of him. His abilities in this are so proficient that he can go unnoticed even by those up to a rank above his own.

A Shadowy Figure
The figure flickered as Katsuya spoke to it, seeming to disappear then re-appear where it was standing. It turned its head without moving its body looking directly at Katusya. Its voice impossibly deep and somehow distorted came out as it spoke. "It seems there is one perceptive person in this village," it said as it slowly sunk into the ground.

Bjorn set the scroll aside and started contemplating the meaning and essence of fire. He slowly felt his fire element well up within him so that he had to get up and move. He started throwing punches around and realized they were much faster than they had been before. He had learned to move like the fast, flickering flames of fire. (1/1)

He then stood still and contemplated the essence of earth. To him, it was strong, solid, steady, but with powerful movement underneath the surface. As the thought, he took up his general stance and felt his legs lock down into the ground, feeling like the roots of a high mountain. Next Bjorn thought of metal, thinking of the steel of his axe; hard, sharp, decisive. He thought of this as he threw a punch at a neaby dummy and his fist went clean through it’s chest. Surprisingly, The blow hadn’t damaged any of the wood around the impact. (1/1)

Bjorn reached out and touched the broken wooden dummy, repairing it and covering it with black steel. He then stood still for a moment, meditating on the essence of water: it’s flowing, graceful nature, as well as it’s unstoppable power when focused. Focusing this mentality into his next hit, he slammed the black steel dummy with a hard palm strike and heard the sound of wood crunching. He’d managed to damage the wooden dummy through his steel armor. (1/1)

Finally, Bjorn stood still and thought about the nature of wood, of trees and plants. They never let up, and you couldn’t really stop them from growing wherever they wanted. They’d smother whatever was already there given enough time and the only way to get rid of them was to destroy them completely. Keeping this in mind, Bjorn started hitting the dummy with some basic punching combinations. He noticed that the timing of his strikes was almost at the point where both attacks were flying almost simultaneously. Moving like this, he could easily smother an enemy with the force of repeated hits. (1/1)

He immediately hollowed himself out to let another imagined attack go by, then closed the distance while slamming a large fist into the chest of the dummy.

Bjorn asked Grym to square up with him again in order to train the next state of techniques. Starting about 15 feet apart, Grym charged at Bjorn. When the bear was about 5 feet away, Bjorn charges his chakra and zips into Grym’s face, releasing a huge wave of chakra as he reached his partner, knocking Grym back several feet. Bjorn then charges forward again, slamming a chakra charged palm into the bear’s chest to stun him. He then unleashed 10-12 machine-gun punches up and down Grym’s center line before grabbing the big grizzly and lifting him into the air, spiking him onto his head again. Wasn't she supposed to come with him to help him train? At this rate, the tournament would come and he'd have no techniques to use for it. That would be way too embarrassing, so it was about time he start to train himself. Besides, he needed to get this over with so he could report the strange figure he had spoken briefly with to the Hokage. With his next course of action planned, Katsuya retrieved the scroll he always kept with him from his pocket. This scroll contained every raiton technique there was. Raiton was the only element he was capable of using after all, so always having one on hand was useful. "Before I attempt to learn anything new, I should review some of my favorite high level techniques. This way, it'll make the lower level ones that much easier," he concluded, eyes immediately going to his favorite B-rank jutsu. Ayatsuri Raikou no Jutsu. A powerful technique that normally could burn through wood with ease. Thanks to his proficiency with the element of lightning he was able to use it to render armor all but useless. That's right, even metal was no match for this technique. It was truly both powerful and versatile, making it one of the best starting jutsu for one who wanted to be a master of raiton jutsu such as himself. Having sufficiently refreshed his memory, Katsuya decided to go ahead and attempt the jutsu. Holding his hands out, the boy focused chakra into the tips of his fingers. This jutsu didn't require hand signs, so it was a rather useful one. Having just used it earlier when showing off in his test to graduate from the academy, the jutsu came pretty easily to him. Ten long strands of lightning; one for each finger; were created. The strands lashed out at a small tree across from him, easily cutting it down as if it were made of paper. ━━Katsuya looked back at his scroll, eyes wondering to decide what his next jutsu would be. Ah, another of his favorites. The previous jutsu, as versatile was it is, was a pretty alright defence. However, when Katsuya needed a technique specifically for defensive purposes, this one always managed to deliver. It worked very well at keeping those taijutsu users he couldn't best in a fistfight away from him, while at the same time keeping his hands free to perform other jutsu. After he was finished reading up on the jutsu though, he thought it best to try it out. It had been a long time since he used this jutsu, so he might not be able to get it immediately. Katsuya brought his hands together and quickly went through the motions of the same hand signs he had practiced for hours on end. The first attempt went a lot better than he thought it would, creating one of the two rings of electricity. This ring circled his body for a few moments before Katsuya released the jutsu, a slight frown on his face. That was no good. The jutsu was useless without both rings. Deciding to go for a second attempt, the slightly frustrated boy went through the signs once again. This time, both rings were created. A small smile on his face, he decided that would be enough of the high level techniques for now. Before he continued any kind of jutsu training he wanted to do something else for a bit. Dendou Kaitengi no Jutsu [ Electric Gyroscope Technique ] (Learned!)
━━There was a certain type of training that Katsuya knew about, but had never actually attempted. It was a form of training that was said to help increase one's stamina;or their chakra levels. Needless to say; this training was invaluable, and something that any shinobi worth their salt should take advantage of. It was a good thing that the scroll Katsuya had read about the training method in provided some detailed instructions though. Without them, there was no way he would have any idea what to do. A small sigh escaped the boy's lips as he sat down though, not exactly looking forward to the time-consuming training. Feeling a bit awkward, he brought his hands together into the sign tora. It was one of the simpler hand signs; consisting only of him interlocking his fingers save for the index fingers, which were pressed together; so would be the easiest to concentrate with. Adjusting into a comfortable position, he began to mold the chakra around in his body. It was weird; and he didn't know what to do at first, but he eventually got it. ━━An add-on to this training stated that Katsuya would have to do something with all that chakra he had been molding. That would be by performing jutsu to get rid of it. So, he decided to use the Ayatsuri Raikou no Jutsu a couple times. He repeatedly used the jutsu, releasing all the chakra he had built up along with it. He noted that the strings he created were considerably stronger due to all the chakra, and couldn't help smiling with approval. He continued doing this a few more times until he felt he'd used up all that extra chakra. One odd thing he noticed as he continued to use this jutsu, was how it effected his fingers. The jutsu that had once caused him some minor pain in his fingers he now barely noticed. He seemed to have grown a sort of tolerance to it. It was pretty strange, but there was no way he would complain. Teikou no Kuntou [ Electrical Resistance Training ] (Learned!) Basic Training: Performance (Complete!)
━━After finally getting it, Katsuya decided to continue his training and see how much he could progress. Molding his chakra in this way was strange though, and he wanted to see if there was a different way. First thing's first though: he would continue molding his chakra this way for as long as he could stand it, periodically switching which sign he was holding his hands in. It was weird how, depending on the sign, he would have to mold his chakra in a different way. For instance: tora was commonly associated with the element katon. When holding this sign his chakra would be wild, fiery! It would rage about inside his body, wanting to escape from his pours and leave his body. Katsuya began to see that the way to train like this would be to attempt to keep the chakra reined in for as long as possible, straining the coils. It was basically just like exercising any other muscle in that case, and made it easier for him to understand. After getting more used to this, he began thinking that perhaps focusing the chakra into a single spot would help speed up the process, exercising his chakra coils even more. Going with this line of thinking, he did his best to focus all the chakra into his feet. It was a bit difficult, but with time got a bit easier... just a bit. He supposed that as he grew older he would get better at it and so not have to do it anymore. Basic Training: Meditate (Complete!)
━━Once again Katsuya had built up a large amount of chakra in his body. Once again he had to find some way to release it. The amount of chakra built up this time, however, was much larger than the first. Katsuya wanted to speed this along however, so stood up and went to find a small pool of water by the academy. This would be perfect. Simultaneously using the chakra to stand atop the water while performing a raiton jutsu would take quite a bit of control and help him out a lot. At least, in theory it would. The first couple times he tried to stand on the water he sunk down to his knees or his ankles though, so that was embarrassing. He was eventually able to stand on it normally however, and began going through the hand signs for the Dendou Kaitengi no Jutsu. Two large orbs of lightning immediately began to circle around him. After a couple seconds, Katsuya canceled the jutsu. He repeated this process again and again until he used up all the chakra he'd built up. When it was over, he couldn't help a sigh of relief escaping his lips. He surprisingly felt pretty exhausted, and decided to go rest for a bit in the academy before continuing his training. This dedication to Raiton techniques however leaves his Maruton neglected, making those techniques cost an additional ten chakra. • Godspeed: Moderate increase to speed. • Espionage: As the heir to the Azuma clan Katsuya's abilities in stealth are unmatched, even allowing him to go as far as to completely erase his presence and any killer intent coming off of him. TWo of them were D-Rank and incredibly easy anyways, so there really was no reason not to. After all those high level jutsu he'd trained they would be a simple matter. Katsuya proved it by immediately performing the Raikou Henge no Jutsu and actually transforming into a lightning bolt. It was ridiculously easy for him so what he just did could hardly be called training in the first place actually. Raikou Henge no Jutsu [ Lightning Transformation Technique ] (Learned)
━━The second-to-last jutsu Katsuya would be learning that day was a clone jutsu. He already knew how to create basic clones so that, plus his affinity for raiton jutsu meant he barely had to even try when he created a clone made out of lightning that appeared right in front of him. It was one of the easiest things he'd ever done and gave a huge boost to his confidence. Raikou Bunshin no Jutsu [ Lightning Clone Technique ] (Learned)
━━This last jutsu was higher ranked than the other two. It was also the entire reason he'd learned that lightning clone jutsu in the first place. Without it, the lightning clones would be basically useless. Maybe it seemed a bit cruel, but the idea of kamikaze clones was just kind of funny to him. Uh, what was he doing again? Oh, right: he was about to use that clone in front of him to make it explode stuff. Before even attempting that however, the boy made sure that he was a good distance away from the clone. He wasn't entirely sure how large the explosion would be and he didn't want to get caught in it after all. That would just be embarrassing. Having gone a good distance away from the clone, Katsuya then went through the necessary hand seals for what he was about to do. Of course it ended in success: with the clone exploding brilliantly in a large, beautiful blue light-show. That would hurt anyone caught in it, and that was exactly what Katusya was going for. Ryouichi appeared in the Academy and looked around. "Hmm." It seemed that there was a few people already training. Ryouichi laughed softly and summoned Ibuse and looked up at him. "Ready to help me train?" Ryouichi asked and Ibuse made a handseal. After he made a handseal a wave of energy went out around Ibuse. Ryouichi then looked over at the genin who were both training. "Hey both you! Come here. I want you to come train next to me! Just for purposes of helping you both train of course."

Bjorn's head perked up when he heard the older looking ninja call out to him, He stood up, picked up his two scrolls and walked over near the other ninja. " Alright, I guess, the name's Bjorn, by the way, this is my brother, Grym." Bjorn jerked a thumb over his shoulder at the large grizzly bear lumbering up to his side. Bjorn sat back down against the wall and continued to read through his scrolls. After a while, Bjorn looked up at Grym, explaining to him (in growls and roars) "I've heard other tamer class ninja's partners are able to speak as humans, they somehow control their growls to form human words, give it a try, brother."
Grym grunted, nodding to Bjorn. He started growling and grunting. After a few tries he stomped his front paws in frustration.
Trying again, Grym started growling, after a couple small grunts, he managed "My n-...grrrrr". He lost the control and fell back to his usual growls. Bjorn egged him on, Grym reminding him that they had been in the wild their whole lives, he didn't have as much exposure to human language as other tamer partners.
On his next attempt, Grym started growling "My name is Grrrrr," losing it at the part of his name that sounded like a growl. He bellowed loudly, venting his frustration with himself, but Bjorn calmed him down.
Grym tried to speak again, letting out in a low growl "Hello, my name is Grym....!!" His eyes opened wider in surprise that he'd got it right. He stood tall on his hind legs, with his front arms held high. letting out a huge roar of triumph.
Bjorn stood and walked over to his brother and best friend, pulling him onto a big bear hug, how he could be that strong, only he and Grym really knew. The then went back to sit down and decide what jutsu they wanted to learn, Bjorn brought over a fuuton scroll for Grym to look through, and they shared the doton scroll.

Something about training? Well, it wasn't his sensei, but if there was a Jounin here willing to train him while he waited for the girl he certainly wasn't going to say no. Katsuya raised his head to see the owner of the voice. It belonged to a man wearing some kind of weird bone mask. He was standing next to... good Lord that salamander was huge! "Must be one of those summons I've heard about," he mumbled to himself, looking for the second shinobi the man had called out other than himself. That was... what was his name again? Bjorn right? Yeah, that monster of a man had been in the Hokage's office when he went to sign up for the tournament. As the man neared him, he confirmed that Katsuya was indeed right about his name. He was slightly confused when he introduced the bear with him as his brother, but figured the man had to be a tamer. Nodding at the two he began to greet them and offer up his name, but before he could get a single word out the bear-Grym was his name-started growling, grunting, and just making all sorts of noise. After yet another moment's confusion Katsuya eventually was able to conclude that the bear was... trying to talk. The way he stomped around and growled when he got it wrong might be cute if he was a teddy bear. Being a real bear though, it was more scary than anything. Still, stifling the laugh threatening to rise up took a good amount of effort. "I'm Katsuya. Katsuya Azuma." Keeping his introduction short and sweet he turned back to his scroll as man and beast-who had both sat beside him-poured into their own.

Kirumi walked towards the academy as she had been lost in though for the majority of her time as a sensei, causing her to be late to watching her pupil practice. As she arrived, the young Yamanaka entered where her student and a few others were all congregating at. Nodding towards Katsuya, the child walked next to her before poking his side, able to use her clan's telepathy with him. "I have arrived, Katsuya. Apologies for my absence, but I was lost in thought. Have you completed your training?"

Naturally he did what any sensible person would do in that particular situation: he practically jumped out of his skin and squealed like a little girl. Yes, it was embarrassing. At the moment his embarrassment wasn't so important anymore. Turning to Kirumi he grumbled, "you scared me half to death. I knew Yamanaka's could use telepathy but don't sneak up on me like that." His voice contained none of the anger one might suspect to be there. Instead the laughter he was trying (poorly) to hide could be heard in his voice. Taking a moment to calm down, he realized he still had to answer her question. "Oh, uh, that guy over there," he pointed at the man standing next to the giant salamander, "said he wanted to train us," he pointed at the giant man and his bear sitting beside him. "I was going to accept to waste time till you got here, but since you're here I'll just stick with you. You are my sensei after all."

Through their great devotion to this path the user can cast ninjutsu without hand seals while wielding a weapon, D at gennin, C at chunnin, B at Jounin, A at Konin, and S at Sannin. These techniques maintain the same description and criteria to use, as well as require the same amount of time to mold the chakra through the weapon as would be needed to perform hand seals, meaning the techniques are not instantaneously cast. The user’s spirit is so strong, that they can utilize their physical bukijutsu techniques to negate ninjutsu techniques of the same rank or below. • Raiton Prodigy: Raiton techniques have their strength greatly increased, overwhelming all techniques one rank above the one he used. All except fuuton techniques, although he can overwhelm ones of the same rank. This dedication to Raiton techniques however leaves his Maruton neglected, making those techniques cost an additional ten chakra. • Godspeed: Moderate increase to speed. • Espionage: As the heir to the Azuma clan Katsuya's abilities in stealth are unmatched, even allowing him to go as far as to completely erase his presence and any killer intent coming off of him. His abilities in this are so proficient that he can go unnoticed even by those up to a rank above his own.

Bjorn had finally picked the doton jutsu he wanted to learn, so he stood up and prepared for some training.
Bjorn began focusing his chakra as he ran through the handseals, thinking about the earth opening up. He then armored up one of his arms and created a roughly fist size blow of black steel and tossed it out into the room. While it was still in the air, Bjorn slapped the ground to activate the jutsu, but nothing happened (1/4)
Bjorn tried again, running through the handseals as he focused his chakra a bit more. When he felt like he had focused enough, he created another block of black steel and tossed it. Quickly slapping the ground, he tried to activate the jutsu while the block was still in the air. This time The earth opened slightly and two slabs of earth came up trying to grab the block, but they weren’t nearly big enough. (2/4)
Bjorn tried again, running through the handseals as he focused his chakra a bit more. When he felt like he had focused enough, he created another block of black steel and tossed it. Quickly slapping the ground, he tried to activate the jutsu while the block was around 15 feet in the air. The earth opened about two feet and two slabs came up to grab the block, but they were only around 10 feet high, not quite big enough. (3/4) “Getting there…” Bjorn thought.
Bjorn tried again, running through the handseals as he focused his chakra a bit more. When he felt like he had focused enough, he created another block of black steel and tossed it. Quickly slapping the ground, he tried to activate the jutsu while the block was still high in the air. The earth opened into a 9 or 10 feet chasm and two huge slabs of earth and rock rose up and easily caught the block, the only thing keeping it from being crushed was the fact that it was black steel. Bjorn called Grym over to help him test the next jutsu. He ran through the handseals while focusing his chakra, thinking of what the jutsu should do. Then he slammed both hands onto the ground to activate the technique, but nothing happened. (1/4)
Bjorn focused his chakra again, running through the handseals quickly and he focused his mind on the jutsu. He then slammed both hands to the ground. Suddenly, the ground rose up and engulfed his and Grym’s feet so that they couldn’t move. After a minute or so, the ground released them. (2/4)

After about a minute, The ground pulsed upward, trying to throw them into the air, but they only rose a couple feet before landing back on the ground. (3/4)

Suddenly, the ground rose up and engulfed his and Grym’s feet so that they couldn’t move. After about a minute, The ground pulsed upward and the two brothers launched high into the air, nearly hitting the ceiling of the room before dropping quickly. While in midair, Bjorn decided to make his landing look cool, and armored his arms up and, landing fist-first and creating a small crater. (4/4)
For his last doton jutsu, Bjorn asked Grym to get out of the way so he wouldn’t get hurt. He the concentrated on what the jutsu was supposed to do as he slowly performed the required handseals. He was expecting a cannon to rise from the ground, but nothing happened. (1/4)
Bjorn focused more chakra into the jutsu as he slowly went through the handseals again. He thought about the dragon shaped cannon that was supposed to form. When he finished the seals, a cannon the shape of a dragon rose up from the cracked ground. When Bjorn went to fire it, it didn’t work. In his frustration, Bjorn covered his right arm in black steel and smashed the cannon to bits. (2/4)
Bjorn focused his chakra once again, running through the handseals more quickly. Thinking about how the jutsu should work, he slapped the ground for the heck of it, since most of his other doton jutsu needed that to fully activate The dragon cannon formed again, and managed to fire once, but the barrel of it exploded from the force. “Damn, getting closer, but still not quite there…” Bjorn thought to himself. Concentrating most of his chakra, Bjorn quickly ran through the handseals again as he thought about the cannon being created stronger than before. He quickly slapped the ground to activate it, and the cannon rose up from the ground again. He surged his chakra to make it fire ana a cannonball of solid rock shot from it, flying across the room, leaving everything still intact ready for another shot. (4/4)

Bjorn went and sat back down by Grym while he decided which katon jutsu to learn. He turned to the smaller kid that had walked over and introduced himself, saying, “Hey Katsuya,sorry if Grym here scared you earlier with all his growling, he was just frustrated with his failed attempts to talk is all.” Grym looked up at the mention of his name and looked at the younger ninja, the huge grizzly saying with a growl “Yeah, sorry if I scared you, Katsuya” The brothers both sat chuckling together.
