Well, it greatly depends on what items you have and what's your taste. But what I suggest is pick two colors that go together (the most basic example would be black and white [or black and anything else for that matter]) but make sure it's all the same shade (or pretty close) and just start putting those two colors together, mixing them so you have a pretty even amount of both on the top and bottom of your avi.
