Having walked through the village towards the office, Suzume had taken it as a chance to she what had change and what hadn't. Of course she also took it as an opportunity to inform her son on their home, what it was like and so on. She wondered briefly if her old apartment would be available... it was bound to be big enough for the three of them, right?
Stopping outside the building, Suzume knew it wouldn't be easy getting the cart up the stairs and it would just cause more of a hassle than needed. Shin'ichi was already reaching his arms up, a sign that he wanted out of the cart. The red head did comply, carefully lifting the boy out and placing him onto the ground before grabbing their belongings out of the cart and putting the pack on her back.
The final touch would be that she would find a way to tie the cart up so that no one would be able to steal it easily. She had doubts about people just stealing a cart but it was better to be safe than sorry.
Once that was done, she would take her son's hand as she, Shin'ichi and Cloud made their way up to the Raikage's office. Of course the Raikage was in a meeting at the moment, so after informing the assistant out front that they wished to see Kinpaku, Suzume would take a seat in the waiting room.
Cloud would lower himself onto the floor by her feet, happy for the rest while her son would start to fidget a bit in his seat, no doubt already growing bored.
Knowing that her son would want something to do, the red head reached into the pack and took out a ball for the blonde boy to play with. He eagerly accepted the toy and slipped off the chair, bouncing it on the floor and rolling it along, only remembering to not get so rambunctious when his mother reminded him to be careful as he played. He'd even get Cloud to play a long a bit, the seven year old German Shepherd rolling it back with his paw whenever the ball was passed to him. |

It was easy enough for time to pass, there was never a dull moment when she kept an eye on and played with her son. The boy would sometimes pass it to her and Suzume would pass it back, playing with her son before he alternated back to Cloud. Needless to say that him growing up with her where they were, he had picked up a bit more of her habits and he was always a good boy for her.
Of course, she had been sure to remove the straw hat she'd worn outside, placing it on the seat next to her so it wouldn't be too hard for old friends to spot her.
Hearing her name said with a familiar sounding voice, the red head glanced up from her vigil watching Shin'ichi to see... Dai? It seemed she really had been away for a long time...
Smiling softly to the younger woman, the red head replied "It's good to see you again Dai. It's been awhile."
Hearing his mother speak and following her gaze, Shin had stopped playing ball and studied Dai. Gray eyes given to him from his mother were intense... or as intense as a five year old could be when studying something or someone new. This only lasted for a few second before he looked to his mother "Who is she momma?" He was feeling a little shy now, scooting a bit closer to his mother and Cloud.
Slowly standing up from her chair, Suzume reached down and gently brushed over her son's hair "She's a friend of Cloud and I. Shin, this is Daitomi Imatokai, and Daitomi this is my son Shin'ichi." A proper introduction seemed due, since it had been awhile and her son had grown so much.
Holding his ball close to his chest, the boy shuffled a little bit away from his mother before giving a bow, not too deep though since the wood sword on his back would slide down to his head. "It's nice to meet you Miss Imatokai."
"Well long time no see Dai." said Cloud, having hauled himself up off his stomach and was sitting up, grinning to the woman. "Looking good." |

 † Daitomi Imatokai † + Paper Ghost + "The better the fighter, the more of a challenge to win." Dai grinned from ear to ear as Suzume confirmed that it was her. "Far too long, Suzume." The blonde jounin looked down at the little boy that was playing under Suzume's feet. Those intense grey eyes. ...Might storms! ...He looks just like...Apol...lo. Her emerald eye watched the little guy scoot closer to Suzume and the german shepherd. Dai softly smiled at Shin'ichi. The Jounin would return the same bow. "The pleasure is all mine Shin'ichi-kun." Dai looked over at cloud and giggled. "My word, Cloud. You've gotten greyer since last." The blonde raised an arm and acted buff while grinning at Cloud. "Oh please I've looked better." Dai laughed warmly before looked to the spot next to her as Yukari joined her.
Dai grasped the girl's shoulder lightly. "Suzume Kinjo. This is one of my students. This is Yukari Mitsiyo. She is a cousin. A No Dara, like me." Dai presented her hand out toward Suzume, Cloud and Shin. "Yukari, this is Suzume, her partner Cloud, and her son Shin'ichi. Suzume and I went to the academy together. Did a bit of growing around each other. Snorting softly, Cloud replied "Well I am pushing on seven, but I never feel a day over three. And hey, you've got a good look going, it's not bad for a human." Joking like this was fun, he really had missed this village and it's inhabitants.
Seeing the blonde woman return the bow and joke a bit with Cloud put the five year old at ease, smiling and feeling a bit less shy. Of course his attention was moved over to the girl that walked up next to Dai, wondering who she was but returning the wave none the less.
"It's good to meet you Yukari." said Suzume, giving the girl a nod and then smiled a little more at the praise Dai gave her. "I'm not bad." she replied, being a bit modest and glancing down at her son. The blonde boy's attention was waning a bit, rolling the ball in his hands around "I'm here to report for duty, I had figured it was about time we came back and it would be good for Shin'ichi to live in the village." Especially now that it seemed unlikely for another tailed demon to come rampaging through.
"Momma says they got good food here and that there's other kids." commented the boy, deciding he wanted to chime in since he had been mentioned in the conversation. Glancing up from the ball to Yukari and Dai, he was smiling softly as he asked "Do you like to play?"

"But the grey is such a regal look for you. and If I could wink I totally would." She laughed warmly. Dai smiled. "It will be nice to run with you and Cloud again." Like Dai, Suzume ran to the mountains after the attacks. They both loved dangerous men. But Suzume's hand wasnt forced to killing the father of her child. The blonde smiled at the red head and the looked at Shin as he spoke up. She smiled sweetly at him. "I love to play. But like momma, I have to do my work first before I get to play."
Dai looked to her other side as Damien joined her and Yukari. "Damien. This is Suzume Kinjo, her partner Cloud, and her son Shin'ichi. Suzume and I grew up together. She's also a Jounin." Dai looked at Suzume and tapped her knuckles against Damien chest armor. "This is my other student. Damien Brande."
Dai's eye grew wide at Yukari's question. Funny stories~! Dai eased up as her student poked her arm. She watched her female student move closer to the little boy. Dai looked at Suzume and cleared her throat. "We've just returned from Takumi from our first mission. Hopefully, we can get reporting in to go quickly. As fun as this was for Shin to meet new people, he did feel a little on edge when Damien arrived. After all, he was wearing armor and there was something going on with the left side of his face. The blonde boy immediately shuffled back a bit closer to his mother, unsure if this stranger was friendly or not.
Suzume of course noticed the new arrival and her son's reaction. She reached down to brush over his hair as she said "It's okay. And it's nice to meet you Damien." There were plenty of new sights that her son has seen after they left their home in the mountains, in this village her son would have to get used to seeing things like guards in armor or people who had been wounded in the past.
"Yeah, nice to meet you." As for Cloud, he wasn't much worried about the new arrival and kept his attention more to Dai since she was paying it to him. [brown]"Thanks for that. Once or twice I have met a nice lady canine who prefers a mature old dog over the young whelps so it works for me." Of course, when Yukari bowed to them, he gave a nod of his head in turn and said "Good to meet you too, kid."
Of course, hearing the question from Yukari, Suzume could not help but grin slightly "I might have a tale or two. Although how much she would say would be limited, not wanting to unknowingly cross the line between funny to embarrassing of course. Hearing about the mission, Suzume nodded and replied "I'm hoping to get back into the swing of things myself. See if my old apartment is still there, warm up with a bit of training, and of course find a baby sitter to help Cloud keep an eye on Shin when I have to go on missions." Yukari seemed like she might be good with her son but she was sure Dai would keep her students busy.
After Dai introduced Damien and Yukari introduced herself with a bow, Shin'ichi did of course return the greetings since it was the proper thing to do. He seemed a little disappointed that Dai would be busy with work too. His mother had been busy with more house chores and things but she was near the home most of the time, now she said she might have to go out of the village to do her job.
Still, he perked back up when Yukari said she liked to play and listed her favorite games. "I like those too! I'm always good at those games, momma and Cloud could never find me. Well, unless it was time to eat, then they always do." said the boy, smiling a bit more before holding out his ball "And I like playing with this best. It's my favorite toy because momma got it for me and it's fun. My momma also got me this sword I have on my back, I like thinking I'm like those guys from the stories she tells me cause they do all sorts of cool things."
While Shin'ichi was saying all of this, Suzume of course had a small smile on her face. It seemed like she was doing a good job as a mother so far. It wasn't easy with her first child and there were things she had to get used to, but at least with Cloud it'd been a little easier. Hopefully now that they were in a village with some of her old friends, it would help Shin'ichi grow. And hopefully there would be no bad influences...
