Naruto: Cursed Spirit

Nowe glanced over to Zane's sudden appearance, looking at him confused for a moment. "Well..that's one down." he said. "It's gonna be kinda hard to get anywhere considering this place doen'st have any real rooms..." As he said this, they were all suddenly outside of the temple, just as it finished collapsing. He immediatly began doing a head count, making sure everyone was ok. His eye's stopped on Tayu holding Kiri. His breath quickened in alarm, saying nothing as he waited for Tayu to assure him that Kiri was just fine.

Kita landed, leaving his wings spread so his riders could get off. Tayu spotted Nowe as soon as she'd dismounted, and she glanced from the body in her arms to him then shook her head sadly. "I...I'm sorry, Nowe. We were too late to do anything."

Kin looked away from Yume, sensing her daughter's chakra, and saw what she was talking about. "Oh no," she gasped.

Keeping her mouth shut and looking away from Nowe Kohane held her hand over her bicep as she tried to hold back the tears. She knew what Nowe was likely feeling and was still blaming herself not being able to save Kiri. Moving off of the bird Kohane got to the ground moving farther away from the group as she reflected internally on things she could do. Forbidden jutsu's she had read about filled her mind but she pushed them away knowing the effect that would have in the village.

"What is it Kin" Kyo asked as he slowly tried to make it to her feet. Only able to get up to his knees kyo looked over at her along to the other's as well. "What is it what's going on" he asked again trying to get to his feet his energy all but gone.

Kin helped Kyo to his feet. She only pointed to the charred body in Tayu's arms in answer to Kyo's question, afraid of what would come out of her mouth if she tried to speak.

"And the bad news gets worse. Seito has both the Sharingan and Rinnegan." Zane said grimly as Yumi helped him to his feet.

Nowe's hands began to shake as he stared at Kiri's body. "No...no. Your just..just jumping to conclusions." He said, then immediatly set his eye's on Kohane. "You can heal her. Fix whatever he did to her....We're supposed to be Sannin, so you can save her!" He said, his voice begining to rise and tears began to fall.

"NO!" Her voice yelled at Nowe as she turned towards him tears streaking her face. "I can't fix her. I can't bring her back even if I wanted to" she said looking at the ground. "Sannin or not were not gods. Bringing the dead back isn't possible" she said. Her words even she didn't believe them as she spoke. Many of the forbidden scrolls flowed thru her mind as she glared at the ground.

A whimper escaped Tayu's lips. Still holding Kiri's body, she slipped to the ground, tears rolling down her cheeks. Kohane's words had really brought home the fact that their friend was really gone. "This isn't right. This wasn't supposed to happen. She wasn't supposed to die. She was one of the strongest of us. It isn't right," Tayu sobbed.

Both Zane and Yumi remained silent, there was nothing they could really say, more so for Zane since he hadn't been fast enough to try and block the attack.

Standing there kyo kept silent. Thoughts of his first interaction with her when he had first been assigned to there team. He found himself quiet at the body infront of him.

Nowe quickly fell silent at Kohane's out burts, already feeling guilty. This was hard on all of them. He wiped away his tears, holding back the rest the best he could. "We'll take her home....back to home.." He said.

---some time later---

The wind seemed to blow more then usual at Kiri's funeral. Or perhaps Nowe just noticed it more. Seems like everytime he heard the wind blow, he would look behind him, excepting Kiri to be there to suprise him like always. He sat on a tree a good bit away's from the main funeral, staring at Kiri's fans. He had gone back to recover them...they just meant to much to her to leave behind.

Despite the protests of the Hospital Staff, Zane was at Kiri's funeral. I'm gonna make sure that b*****d burns for this. Zane swore solemnly, though, it was kind of hard to be menacing when you're being held up by another person, in this case Yumi.

Standing at the front in full black clothing Kohane kept her head down as she listened to other talk about Kiri. They spoke kind word about her which twisted the Sannin's stomach as she clenched her fists. There word felt hollow to her. None of them knew Kiri like there group did and each word brought more tears to her eyes. Turning away from the funeral Kohane walked towards the back of the group of people.

Tayu was standing with her teammates and friends, trying to keep herself from sobbing as tears rolled down her cheeks. Kita, sitting at his usual perch on her shoulder, bowed his feathered head and rested it against Tayu's. She absently reached up to pet him and glanced over at the tree where Nowe sat. She knew he was feeling worse than the rest of them, and it really hurt to see him sitting there alone.

Kin stood with Tayu's father behind her, holding a white flower in one hand while the other rested on her daughter's shoulder.

Kikou tried not to cry but the tears seemed come to him this is not fair he should have been there he could of helped
