Trees, that was mostly the only thing you could see while running, which made it more confusing since every tree slightly looks the same. " Wait. Am I going in circles? Laughter, it rolled off of her tongue with melodious ease. Her lilac eyes sparkled as she rose from her seat on the bench while Sam dipped down to swipe up his broom in one quick swoop. Cersei shook her head, hair spraying everywhere as she adjusted the red Ray-Ban aviator sunglasses on top of her head. ”Haha, just consider yourself lucky this, time, okay?” She winked. ”I can be very menacing,” and it was true, being half-veela, anyway.

”Sure, sounds fun! Can you spot any of them?” Her short frame hopped on her tippy toes as she tried to scan the crowd floating over towards the carriages, occasionally using the Gryffindor Seeker beside her for balance.

As Eliora spoke, it seemed the other girls hadn’t really been able to hear her, not over all of the shouts from students filing towards the hill while the first years herded around the lake to board the boats. Marina and Nell had already slipped ahead, waving backwards with a hand to incite the rest of them to follow up to the carriages. A sidelong glance was spared in Damien’s direction, wondering where he’d want to sit—either with them, or separately. ”C’mon, their right, we don’t want to be last goin’ up to the castle—Eli, Damien?” He called unto each of them, gathering their attention before it drifted into the mayhem of the night.

Without second thought, his heavy hand seized Eli’s, grasping her firmly as if at any moment, he might just lose her. Following alongside Damien, they flowed with the crowd and hovered up alongside the carriages. Some seemed distracted, and he couldn’t fathom why—their hands stroking against air—it was odd, to say the least. In the back of his mind, he remembered his older brother had told him something or other about the carriages, but, he couldn’t remember what. Regardless, he turned to face Damien, expectant of his next move, whether it meant joining Marina and Nell—or not.

"Yeah, I'm just exhausted that's all." And she was starving. She hadn't eaten anything for two, maybe three days. When he held her hand, she was even more surprised. Her face went bright red.
"Rick, don't say you're sorry. You've been through a lot, I'm just worried that's all." She looked down at their hands, a little confused. Lore watched the trees go past their carriage, and she leaned her head on the back of the seat.

Alaric walked away from the others, and found Eve talking to an older Slytherin. He shrugged, and finding an empty carriage, jumped up into it. His eyes were dark and shining as he surveyed the rest of the scene, darting back and forth like black fish under the moon. Within a few minutes, he had taken in everything he could. Some of these people were upset, others happy, and others hiding their emotions. Leaning back in the seat, he crossed his arms and tried to fall asleep to little success. He highly doubted anyone would want to sit with him, so he contented himself to watching everything he could make out in the semi-darkness.

Romy hurried toward a carriage, not wanting to chase after them! He climbed in one that he thought was empty. He flushed as he came face to face with a boy. "Hi! Do you mind if I share your carriage?" he asked politely. He had seen this boy around before, sharing classes and a Common Room tended to do that! "I'm Romy, by the way. I don't think we've ever exchanged names..." he said, smiling at the boy. Maybe he'd make a real friend this year!

Alaric's thoughts were interrupted when a boy his age found himself in the carriage. Though it was dark, Alaric could see the boy's face change in color, and Alaric smirked a little despite himself.
"Hey Romy, I'm Alaric or Jon. Whichever you prefer,"
he said with a smile. Alaric almost scooted over before realizing he was already in a corner. The majority of both benches were open for the other boy. Alaric was pretty sure the two have them had talked at the end of last year, at the closing feast.

Newlyn smiled at her friend. "It's great to see you. My summer was alright, yours? Here, come in the carriage. We don't want to miss the sorting and the feast." She extended a hand to her redheaded friend to help her up and into the carriage. Finally, all her friends were reunited. This was what she'd been looking forward to all summer; good times with friends at Hogwarts. And the year had only just begun.

Alaric was a little taken aback by how cheery the boy was. He smiled and nodded in agreement with everything the boy said. It was good to be eating something other than stale bread and oranges for a change. The year had been particularly bad for them, they needed financial aid to be able to buy things for the school year.
"I'm looking forward to it too. I'm trying out for Quidditch this year," he said excitedly. He had been flying since before he could read, and he was hoping he could get on the team.

Chloe smile as she was hugged by her friend. Hugging back she was so happy to see her. “My summer was great got bugged by my brother the entire time but it was still good. Didn’t do much though just a lot of reading.” She said with equal excitement. “Yeah how was your summer?” she added when Newlyn asked Charlotte her summer was. “Do anything interesting?” she added on after that. Man was this year ever going to be great!

Charlotte giggled and steeped in the the carriage. "My brother came back from America this year. So I got to spend a lot of time with him. He Bugs me too but were close. Also During the school year my little sisters have grown really independent. It was kinda sad coming back and finding out they don't rely on my like they used too. But that was the only sad thing, I had a wonderful summer." She smiled, remembering the summer she had.
