Following Apollo-senpai to an empty table, Jin looked around the room, the aroma of food wafting uncontrollably around him, but thankfully, his attention was brought to more important matters.
His senpai was well known after all with the welcoming from a stranger, only to make Jin asked. "... senpai?... I've been meaning to ask.. what's a sage?..." The question had manifested when Apollo mentioned it at the office, but he kept it to himself, knowing the time to ask would soon present himself, and so it did. "...and what was that pipe thingie?.." Jin questioned, still standing. His superior hadn't sat down yet, and so Jin thought it rude to sit before him. He wasn't aware that Apollo was waiting for him to sit, so the both of them standing only created the awkward feeling surrounding them

 Apollo raised a brow as the boy asked his question. So he really didn't know much about the shinobi world at all. The brow stayed raised when Jin didn't take a seat, as Apollo had been waiting for his student to sit. This created one of the most awkward scenes you could possibly imagine. "Umm..Jin..you can sit if you like. Unless you enjoy standing.." Apollo then took his own seat, no longer waiting for his pupil. The boy was too formal, way too formal, but he guessed it was from a good upbringing. "Waiter! Can I get two menu's please?" A man quickly rushed over, handing both Apollo and Jin a menu of things to choose from. Assorted ramens, different types of buns, meats, veggies, whatever the kid was into was probably on that list. "You don't know what a sage is? Well that means you don't know what a summon is. We'll start there." Apollo cracked his knuckles before doing a few quick hand signs. "This.." POOF! After placing his hand on a the table a poof of smoke had arisen, and in it was none other than the toad Gamakichi. "..is a summon. It's a blood pact you make in other to bring forth ninja aids from another place. There are all types of summons and all types of aids. Now, the shinobi who was first to tame all the aids under his or her reign become it's sage. You won't become a successful sage however unless your strong enough to keep the position." After his explanation Apollo had wondered why Gamakichi had nothing to say. Usually he was yelling and screaming, but as he looked down he noticed the toad was sleep. "Oh, well Gamakichi seems to be napping right now, but he's one of the aids I spoke about earlier. He'll wake up eventually I guess, but prepare for a mouthful when he does." Apollo continued looking through his menu after the explanation, knowing Jin would probably be fascinated with the summon. |

Finally taking his seat and taking the menu from the waiter, all while breathing out a sigh of relief, Jin watched as Apollo summoned his toad.The act in itself was amazing, but as Jin poked the sleeping frog, he could only exclaim. "...so.. this is one of the great toads?..." Again poking the sleeping toad. "...do they usually sleep?.." Jin said, a little disappointed. This only brought up Jin's wonder in summons. "...so you can summon only frogs?.. what other animals are there?.." Jin asked, as his eyes traveled the entirety of the menu, his mind indecisive of whether to pick price over hunger, or hunger over price.
This was a battle of pride over hunger, and thusly, Jin took it as a challenge. He only read the descriptions of the cheap dishes. Or at least he tried, as his eyes stumbled upon a few expensive dishes. Inside, Jin could've cried, and so he focused on asking senpai questions.

Apollo continued to look over his menu, but he listened whilst doing so. It was a bad idea to poke Gamakichi like that, but Jin would learn that soon enough. "I wouldn't advise you poking Gamakichi like that. He's got quite the rowdy spirit once he awakens from his nap." No sooner had Apollo said that then the eyes of the toad sprang open. It was around the second time Jin had decided to give Gamakichi a poke. It's eyes stared to Jin with anger and before you knew it Jin had been smacked in the face from Gamakichi's elongated tongue. "You brat! Don' cha have any manners?! Who gave ya the right to poke meh while I'm sleepin?!" Gamakichi sat up, yawning lightly after whipping Jin in the face with his tongue. That'd teach the kid what for. "Calm down Gamakichi. He meant not harm." The toad turned, sticking it's tongue out at Apollo angrily. "Screw you old man! The kid deserved it! And who told ya to summon me anyway? It don't even look like there's any fightin goin on." Apollo sighed, going back to his menu while answering more of Jins questions. "Well, first off their not frogs. There toads. I wouldn't ever call them frogs while there about. Second, summons can range from anything really. Birds, dogs, snakes, humans, the list goes on." After his words he looked over to Jin, hoping the boy was alright from Gamakichi's whip to the face. "Ready to order Jin-" "HOLD THE PHONE APOLLO?! Your orderin food? Why not order me somethin? Huhh??? Huhhhh?" Apollo stared down to Gamakichi who only gave a thumbs up with a smile. "C'mon, do it outta the kindness of ya heart." Again, Apollo sighed, giving the toad his menu. "Hurry and choose. Your interrupting my talk with my new protege." |

The smack was strong enough to leave a slight headache, befuddled into Jin's mind. Gently rubbing his cheek, his face a little apologetic, but mostly confuzed, due to the sudden outburst of aggression. "...my apologies.. Mr. Toad..." Jin didn't think he could talk, let alone react the way the toad had. He almost spoke very disrespectful to Apollo-senpai. Were these toads on a higher level than his senpai?
"...so there are other animals to choose from?.. if I may ask.. why toads?...No offense to you Gamikichi-san..." Jin was just getting particularly intrigued in being able to summon animals, though he thought himself more of the dog type of person. "... exactly.. how selective are these animals when it comes to making a pact with someone?.." Looking down at Gamikichi-san, Jin questioned. "... do you really have that much respect for Apollo-senpai o' great Toad?.." Jin was trying to avoid his prior disrespect to the amphibian, but inside, Jin was a little upset to be slapped in such a way by such a tiny adversary, though he had no right to underestimate one due to their size. Jin was one of the best Taijutsu specialists in his year, but his structure would make others think differently.
Action : Rubbing his cheek..

Gamakichi let out a huff, looking through the various things on the menu. "Your wallet betta be fat Apollo, or else your gonna be spendin a lotta dough today." Apollo's brow went up, snatching the menu from Gamakichi's hand..flipper...thing instantly. "Hey! I didn't pick yet!" Apollo turned to the toad, giving him an annoyed face. "Be quiet! I'll choose something for you. Now apologize to Jin-san for what you did." It was as if Apollo had spoken of the black plague. Did he really think that was gonna make Gamakichi apologize? "Like hell I will! The kid deserved what was coming to him!" So that's how it was gonna be huh? The waiter soon returned and Apollo smiled lightly to him. "Whatever the lad wants on the menu he can have. Money isn't an issue. I want soba noodles please." That's when Gamakichi realized the results of his actions. "Wait! Ya didn't order me anything Apollo! Where's mine?" The blonde paid no response to the toad, only whistling lightly. "C'MON?! I'M STARVIN APOLLO!" After those words Apollo did a simple and sly point over to Jin. "I have yet to hear you apologize sincerely to my protege." WHAT??! Gamakichi couldn't believe this. Forced in a corner, he had no options left. "...Fine..." His body and head turned, looking to Jin with a blank face. "Boy.." "His name is Jin." "Err...Jin..I...I..I...apologizeforsmackingyouinthefacewithmytongue! Whoo! Man that was hard work. Now, let's get to getting me some food huh?" Apollo sighed, guessing that was the best he was gonna get from the toad. "Barbeque pork for the toad. Now then, to answer your questions Jin. I decided to go with toads because I already had a pact with them when I was younger. My former senpai was the sage and it was only natural that I took over after he died, though if I had a choice I'd maybe have chosen creatures a bit nicer and yes, there are many different animals to choose from. As far as selection goes I'd have to say that you kinda just have to be a good match for the animal your making a pact with. Sometimes the summons won't accept you as their sage if you don't fit in with their ideals. It's very possible to be rejected." After his lengthy explanation Gamakichi heard the question posed to him. He looked over to Apollo and gave a hefty grin. "Bah, the old mans alright I suppose. Ain't never done nothing wrong to us toads, so you could say he gets my respect. Course I gottah keep em in check now and again, but other than that you learn to get over his horrible traits." Apollo sighed lightly, but was happy that this was going so well. Jin was learning even now and that was what this was all about. |

After hearing the kid apologize for his actions Gamakichi gave a simple smirk. "Neh, it's alright kid. Now that you've apologized and know the wrong doings of your actions, I have no beef with cha. However, if you ever..ever..EVERRR-" WHAM! Out of nowhere almost Apollo smacked Gamakichi over his head, looking down to him with that same annoyed face. "Stop talking to Jin like he's your underling. Treat him with respect unless you want me to eat the pork I just ordered." The way the two interacted made it seem like Apollo was the father and Gamakichi his child. "Razamm...whatever. I'll just be quiet! How's bout that?!?" Bah, the toad was a baby and Apollo wouldn't feed into his act. "No need to apologize Jin. Gamakichi has always been this rude. As for you being a sage...well..." He sat for a moment, looking Jin over. He hadn't even read his file yet, but he had heard he was skilled in Taijutsu much like Apollo himself. "..I'll say this. There are thousands of ninja in this world and outta those thousands few become sages. It is up to you to hone your skills and get the abilities you need to become a sage. I can't tell you what you'll become because I can't see into the future, but I can say this Jin. With my as your teacher I'll give you as many tools as possible to become whatever you desire." It was an awe inspiring speech that hopefully the youngster would cheer up from. "But that's all in the future, let's just think of now. We need to drill you into becoming a lean mean fighting machine. Even though I've heard you specialize in taijutsu, I bet you didn't know that you can still learn ninjutsu." This was where the fun would start. As soon as he'd said that the food was back and laid on the table for the trio. |

Maemi pushed the door open to Edible Creations and was immediately met with astonished and mildly hateful looks. He froze on the door step and flushed dark red, pushing through regardless What is wrong with everyone in this stupid village! My brother did nothing wrong! he thought, pushing forward. He wasn't surprised that people gave him nasty looks. He was almost a clone to Sypher when he was younger though Sypher had black hair when he was young and Maemi's hair was bright silver He didn't do anything.... he took a deep breath and glared right back at everyone else "What?!" he snapped at a particularly nasty patron who looked away. Maemi clenched his fists then turned, spotting Jin with a blonde haired older man Is that his sensei? he thought, wanting to go say hi but not wanting to interrupt. He settled with sitting at a table across from the two but far enough away so as not to be eavesdropping. He settled his head on the table, refusing to meet anyones eyes until a waiter approached "Don't mind them...Everyone's had their feathers ruffled lately. And you look a hell of a lot like the feather ruffler." the waiter said, trying to be supportive but Maemi looked up, seriously unhappy "You mean Sypher Jeager Stanislaus Senju. He's my big brother." he said coldly and loud, not at all ashamed to claim Sypher as his brother. The waiter flushed, embarrassed and cleared his throat "Ah...sorry. What can I get you?" Maemi shook his head "I'll order later. I'm waiting for my sensei..." the waiter nodded and scurried away.
