Aww silly Platies! lol Just boil some sqash, zuccihni or cucumber and drop it in by him at night. He'll learn at some point, as hunger is a pretty good teacher (just ask all my fish XD). Also try putting the algae wafer either inside the slice of veggie (via a cut in the side) or in after dark. I would suggest using a terra cotta plate for algae wafers for easier clean up, and easier eating.

Sneaky little thing! I sometimes wouldnt see Ninja, my BN, for a few days. If you dont see him for a while, you should pick stuff up and make sure he's still alive (fish dont seem to realize they cont shove themselves up under stuff >.<)

Hmmm... You ruffled up all the plants, checked under everything, shook the driftwood, or any rocks, out a bit? Is it possible that he got into the filter or something? (Not sure how big he is lol). He's gotta be in there some where.... :/ You may want to check around the tank just to be sure, but I honestly think he's in there some where

Whats another day gunna do? You have live plants, and keep up on water changes other wise, so honestly you should be fine. Any longer past 10 days is when you should be worried lol

Dont use unconditioned water, unless you are on well water. The Chlorine and Chloramines will kill the fish, and possibly the plants. If you have to use unconditioned water, let it sit in out for atleast 24 hours for the chlorine to disapate. This doesnt do anything for chloramines though.

What types of tetras are they in with? The only thing that might be a striking factor for the betta are the colors, but if the tetras are colorful and he gets along with them then that should be fine. The main thing to worry about will probably be how the platies react to a slow moving betta with long tasty looking fins. But you do have plenty of hides, so he should be able to stay away from them even if they get tempted. My old betta Spangles was pretty good about scaring tetras away, he would flare at them and chase them but not attack them.

I did some Googling on sexing Clowns, and theres not much. One site did say that makes will develop spines down their backs, and others said theres no way to tell. Not too sure, other then getting more and see who breeds XD

My Cherry Barbs nibble on Ninja's sides, and Ninja flares up at them and chases then away LOL Its really funny when he tries to chase them all away from his algae wafers, one barb at a time rofl rofl rofl rofl

thx, my mom says he's ugly evil that he looks like a toad lol, but I think toads are cute. I'm sure I'll never get a good enough look at him to sex him so I decided that HE is a HIM.

He's getting ever so slightly better. He tail whipped a platy today that was stealing his food.

Oh, I had a tiny snail explosion lol...It doesn't bother me yet, but, today I found a swarm of them on Shy's waffer. Am I maybe feeding him too often?
