The Crown Prince's coming-of-age ball began as the sun was setting. The guests, both nobles and commoners, filled the giant ballroom. Musicians set up their instruments and played on a raised platform on the side of the room, and the sound of their music filled the chamber. Through another doorway on the opposite side was a buffet table and the dining hall so that guests might eat if they felt like it and then return to the festivities. About a half hour in, when the guests were beginning to wonder where the guests of honour and their hosts were, a fanfare signaled the entrance of the royal family. First to descend the stairs were the King and his Queen, then the Crown Prince, followed by his siblings in order of age, and finally ending with Arlyn, looking every bit the princess she was in the dress that had been made for her over the past week.

Shano arrived at the palace hours before the sun was setting, people were crowding the front hall while discussing about the Crown Prince and the royal family in general. No one have mentioned of the princess as of yet, but Shano is expecting for her to be attending her brother's party. The door to the giant ballroom opened, revealing polished marble and gorgeous decorations. What caught Shano's attention is the beautifully dressed foods, it made her mouth water, she was good at cooking but wouldn't be able to create such a fine dish. Shano forgot what her objective was at the moment, untill she saw the whole family walking down the stairs. The king and queen, the crown prince, followed by his brothers and sisters, with a gorgeously dressed girl at the end of the line. That must've been the locked up princess. Shano would need to go talk to her, the reason why she was locked up was getting up on her nerves. What if she and Alura isn't the only one with the special abilities? Could the king locked the princess up because of that? She is determined to find out the answer to this question, even if it ends up in violence.

The difference between the good guys and the bad guys

After the princess walked out at the end of the children Kyo after a few moments dressed in the suit he had been provided. It was a simple one with the prominent color being black. At his side a blade hung sheathed. Even when made to attend such an event he was a guard first and foremost and had been allowed to keep the blade. With honesty he detested the get up he was wearing it limited his movements and gave him no protection he would rather be in his armor with all honesty. It didn't matter for the time tho as he would continue his duties and shadow the princess keeping any threat of harm at bay.

Is whether they use a human shield or make themselves one.

The twins had been standing towards the front for the most part. HAving been there for a couple of days they were a couple of the first to enter the ballroom. Drawing eyes as the twins were wearing something their mother had hoped the would meet their father or the men they would marry in. Lily was wearing a pretty yet colorful dress that her mother figured would reflect Lily's personality. It did, since the minute younger twin was very spontaneous. She was standing next to her sister, and Cat's dress was plain, but still pretty on the blonde. Their mother had figured that something more plain would bring out what she supposed would be Cat's hidden personality. The twins watched as the king, along with his queen, the crown prince and the siblings according to age. When Arlyn came down, Cat had to hold her own gasp at the pretty dress as well as Lily's who was going to shout out how pretty she looked. But Cat kept Lily under control. Lily's attention was diverted when standing in the shadows was Kyo, the guard.

Talia arrived with the rest of the crowd wearing a rather elegent light blue dress. How she got on a low budget, she wouldn't say. When the royal family decended the stairs, she watched as all eyes were on them. It was all rather impressive this ball, she have much of these back in her kingdom at least nothing too fancy.

Leon stood with his arms crossed as the royal family made their way down the stairs. His fancy clothing consisted of a dark red, short sleeve jacket with a black and gold trim, white dress pants and sandals with a fancy sash. While he was sure there were nicer outfits, Leon didn't really much care, his focus was on the royal family, trying to guess which was the Princess he had heard about.

Dustin stood by, watching everything wearing a dark blue robe, carrying one of his swords, as he had been adamant on, for Leon's safety. The men outside had understood since one of their own also kept his blade on him inside the party. While Leon would look for the Princess, Free had already spotted her, reasoning that if she had been locked in the tower, she would have been placed at the back, where only those who looked for her would find her, whereas everyone else would be too focused on the King, Queen and Crown Prince.

Jace stood on the roof, looking down into the ballroom, scanning for the man he had been hired to assassinate. He finally spied the Crown Prince making his entrance with the rest of the royal family. Jace went over his objectives in his head again. He would need to find a way to hit his mark and escape quickly before his face got on any wanted posters.

Keeping somewhat close to the princess Kyo kept his eyes open continually scanning the area and sizing up each of the party goers. He didn't like the amount of people that were in the room and it made his gaze take longer then he wanted to. So far he felt no need to be on edge but preferred to be prepared as he kept his hand on his blade at all times just incase it was needed. During his scan tho his eyes slowly but eventually fell on Lily as he stood there fore a moment staring at her. He looked over her some how realizing she would be there so he was not that surprised when he saw her.

Lily watched as Kyo's gaze turned to her and lingered a moment. She blushed slightly and tried to curtsy a little for the guard. She drew the attention of Cat and smiled when Cat tried to take her attention.

“Playing with fire is bad for those who burn themselves.”

Alessandra had learned what all the talk had been about and had decided to attend the ball. Her outfit (the one in her profile picture) was designed more for ease of movement and remaining cool in the desert, but served well enough from where she was hanging out with the less rich citizens.

Jezebel watches from her perch in a shadowy balcony, somehow managing to get herself hired as an extra blade in case of trouble. What her employers didn't know was that she would likely be the source of the trouble they hoped she would prevent as she watches Arlyn walk behind her siblings like a cat watches a mouse.

“I'll open the door
To Heaven or Hell.”

((Not really sure what the King would do in this sort of thing... Speech or something? Then party?))

Jace observed the party from the roof, keeping careful track of his target and where anything he would want to avoid would be. He made sure to keep himself hidden from those below and any nearby who might be watching, no sense in alerting any archers or other deterrents to his presence just yet.
