"It is a very long story, my student, but rest assured it is no fault of you or any of whom I trained. I was betrayed in word and action by Hokage Noctis Shinsetsu, and watched this village broken by several Hokage in succession. Then came the tragic Masaru Uchiha who commited suicide atop that monument of hubris and left his position to a child who had no place being in the office. Ibara was the last straw for me, to see a child forced to take the reins of power who had just barely proven himself as anything within our village. He held up to the stress admirably, but it was also this village's more powerful shinobi that carried the weight in the beginning of his service. Now I hear even he's gone." The Hatake sighed and held his face in his palm, looking at Ryoku between his fingers.
"This village, I cannot ever call it home again. It took the life of my parents from me, it took the best of my life, and it took my pride to remain. I still serve the memory of those I held dear who served here, but I cannot live their lives in a place that does not honour them as they deserved." He told the Hokage, turning around and setting himself against the wall turning once more to face the man.
"It is not your fault, though, and perhaps you can make something of this village not seen since Hokage long past. You were raised on the best of instructions and the shadows truly are a part of you. You're not going to be like them, I can tell it now. Though tell me, what fares of my goddaughter, Uchiha Koan?" He asked, looking directly into the man's eyes.

Ryoku took a moment to be slightly startled that he did not know the condition of Koan. Although he did not particularly like the woman she was a shinobi of the leaf. Hesitating for a moment before speaking. "She has fallen in battle I am afraid, The most recent assault from the UHV. It was a battle with a unit of not just soldiers but shinobi with the absorption gear. Their general was a bit of a force to recon with. A puppet user to be exact." Ryoku hung his head a bit knowing it was not easy news to hear. "We recovered her body from within the academy after the battle was over, A couple of them did die in the battle but most including the general managed to flee."
A look of sullen grief crossed the Hatake's face and he raised the white Raijin mask back to cover his eyes as a single tear fell behind the porcelain facade. The child he had raised had gone, but forced to maintain composure he looked to the Hokage and gave a curt nod, fearing at first to speak as he was afraid that his voice would give away the hint of emotion that had betrayed him. Staring to the man he nodded once more and cleared himself to speak.
"Then, as her guardian and godfather, I would ask that I be allowed to claim her corpse for proper funerary arrangements. She will be taken with me and laid to rest with those that can understand and accept the grief I face at losing my only child." The Hatake spoke, his eyes dancing around the form of the Hokage as if to get some better read of his former student.
"I remember the two of you had no love for each other, she was, admittedly a handful." The Hatake said as he placed his hand on the back of his neck and tried to steady himself.
"And then my other belongings will be a simple matter of collection for me." He said as he thought of his home on the outskirts of this village.
It seemed the second girl that showed up had nothing further to say despite her previous aggression. Cigarette still between his lips he followed Jae out with something that resembled a smile.

Taking in his attempt to block out his feelings towards the girl, it was obvious he had lost someone dear to him. Feeling bad that she was unable to be protected he looked up to Masahiro. "I apologize for her death. During the battle I was rendered incapacitated due to the general taking control of Ayame Hatake from the effects of a jutsu. But excuses are not acceptable in the realm of life and death. I understand that you might not see Konaha as your home anymore and you have my word of all pardons. Your request is also granted but I will do you one better. This village has wronged you due to the actions of our previous persons in power. To make amends for that, I offer you a favor on behalf of the village. Just let me know and we will do all in our power to grant that wish, so long as it is within reason."
Ryoku paused for a moment taking a step closer to him. "I do have faith in this new relationship between our villages. I intend to keep it." His stare was as sincere as it could be. What he spoke was the truth in his heart. Steps were being made to make the world a better place and he had no intention of wavering from this path. "Please feel free to help yourself to whatever you have left behind and the body of your goddaughter Koan Uchiha. Reguardless of my feelings she was a leaf shinobi and fought for the village.. until the end. I could not have asked for better. The recent attack was a bit sudden and funerals have not been fully prepared. I believe the last place I knew of her remains was at the Uchiha compound, They were seeing to the preparations." Taking a moment to make a handseal forming a shadow clone beside him. "I will send word of your coming so no resistance is made." As he spoke the clone sank into his shadow disappearing from sight. Off to go inform the residents of the compound of his intentions and to not give any trouble.

The start of her day hadn't been what she expected, but that wasn't going to drag her down. With Isamu in tow, the two approached the academy gates, and entered. The area was crowded with shinobi of all ranks and sizes, working hard to learn the techniques of their choosing. However, she was here for a different task. "Maybe the Hokage is here..." She spoke to herself, but she was sure Isamu heard her, his ears twitched as she spoke. Having no sort of knowledge on the new Hokage's physical identification, the search was going to be much harder than she thought. With a sigh, Mariko found a bench to sit on, Isamu laying on the ground in front of her. She sighed again, tempted to rummage through her bag to find that book... but instead, pulled out the scroll that contained her clan's techniques, and read through them. She remembered practicing a few of them as a child, but that was so long ago. She doubted she'd be nearly as good as she was before, though she gave it a try anyways.
Sashiki no Jutsu, a technique that required one to convert their chakra to a source of life to manipulate wood as a use of weaponry from their body. By sharpening this wood, it could be used as a makeshift sword, or manipulate its growth in spurts to create projectiles to skewer the target. An offensive technique at best, with minimal chakra usage. Mariko extended a hand, the tips of her fingers turning into wood upon channeling Mokuton chakra through the entire arm. The wood formed at the tips was shot forward as she momentarily ceased the growth, and continued doing so in a rhythm. As a result, multiple wood projectiles had embedded themselves in the dummy furthest away to her left side, nearly knocking it off its stand as it was hit in rapid succession. Masahiro stared to the man from behind his porcelain ANBU mask and gave a final curt nod. He felt the sincerity of this man's word and knew he could hold his former student to his word at the very least. He would then turn with very few words left to him and place his hand on the door, casting it open with a smooth flourish.
"The day will come when I aim to make well on that promise, Ryoku, and I will seek it of you. Though this day I cannot fathom what more I could possibly ask of you than to lead this village to some semblance of sanity that it has not had in many years prior." The elder shinobi stated as he left the room, hidden behind his ANBU mask.
"Do forgive me for returning beyond my mask, but no others can know who I am whilst I am here."

Kira blinked at the Hawk-girl, then shared a look with Isis. Ryoku had handed her something, what was this? And a list? Kira looked back at the Hawk-girl, Chloe or something, then back at Yukki, "Uh..... what's this?".
I think the healthy way to live is to make friends with the beast inside oneself, and that means not the beast but the shadow. The dark side of one's nature. Have fun with it and you know, is to accept everything about ourselves.
Yukki stood there for a moment looking at Ryoku nodding slightly agreeing with things he was saying. She then looked to Chloe who had taken over talking cause Ryoku had to step away for a moment. Taking the money he had given her she tucked it away. Looking at Kira who had the look of what the hell was this on her face she snickered and then pointed at the bag. "That there is money, you can buy things with it and I see he gave u the list so that's the stuff hes gonna need." She looked back to Chloe and nodded. "That sounds good but I would definitely need more information on it." Standing there her tail twitched a few times as she waited to head off to takumi she had some ideas of what she wanted to buy.

After Masahiro left Ryoku made his way back to the situation at hand. Chloe was speaking with them on the matter. It seemed a couple of them were still confused on the particulars. Walking up to them he heard enough of their concerns to help. First addressing Yukki and Kira. "That money is to get you equipment in Takumi that will help you further as shinobi. The list I requested from the stores is just more of the same to help some others that were not making the trip. I am hoping for a speedy trip so plan your purchases well." Walking up to Yukki he placed his hand on her shoulder. "Please help Kira in any way you can, much about this trip will be unfamiliar to her so please guide her wherever you see fit." Taking his hand from her shoulder and running his index finger quickly out from under her chin. After he did it he felt a bit silly but at the same time was just acting on a feeling. He did think she was attractive but he hoped that was not the only reason he did it.
Turning to the Hyuuga about her thoughts of distrust. "It is quiet simple really, this invitation is extended to you because of your ability with nature and animals. Your knowledge of your surroundings. Just because someone in the Unit is of higher rank or perhaps your senior they are in no way shape or form superior to you or above you in this group. Everyone is equal." Pausing for a moment trying to make his point known. "I myself will be part of this unit as well, which means I myself am not your superior. If that is something you can grasp." Glancing over to Kira. "But I am not asking you to change your image of me. I am your equal no more no less. Please I would prefer you all to simply call me Ryoku opposed to my title as Kage." Walking closer to Emi he wanted to make the point a bit more known. "At least give us a chance to prove our worth to you. Don't have to trust us right off the bat. We will earn that in time. Think of it as a well deserved opportunity to grow, and I would like to have you on the team."
Chloe followed Ryoku's lead. Reverting back into a hawk. He always was better with words. Explaining things was not really her strong suit. Taking to the sky she wanted to just have some time to herself and to make sure all was well in the village.

Kira blinked when Ryoku seemed to single her out and comment about being her equal. But he was her Alpha. She was his Beta, that was not how things worked. She bit her lip and then shook her head, forcing herself to relax, he said she didn't have to change how she thought of him, so she wouldn't. He was her Alpha, but she would respect his wishes and call him by his name. When he explained about trust and the such, she looked at the girl with the big white cat. How could she not trust her Alpha? She shook her head, that was not her place to question. Kira looked back at Yukki when Ryoku was touching her and blinked again, what was he doing? Kira leaned close to Yukki and blinked, "What was that? That Al-Ryoku just did? It looked strange. Was he submitting to you? But why? He's Alpha? Shouldn't you submit to him?" The wolf girl asked, confused and just trying to understand.

Yukki listened to Ryoku and nodded more to the things he said understanding them a bit more. She then was struck with surprise when he placed a hand on her shoulder. Hearing what he had to say she felt a bit odd knowing that he was putting so much trust on her to take care of and watch over Kira. Smiling slightly she felt happy to know that he trusted her so well. She then went wide eyed when his finger grazed her chin in that way making her ears perk up straight and her tail perked up as her face began to go beat red like almost the shade of a tomato.
Standing there she had no idea how to deal with it. and what came next was just adding fuel to the fire. Looking at Kira after hearing what she said her face just blushed so much that she covered her face. "It was nothing..... I think." She then uncovered her face giving Kira a look of stop picking on me face. She didn't dare look at Ryoku for fear she would go all red faced again and possibly faint. "So uh, we ready to go?" She wanted to change the subject as fast as she could to avoid any more looks.

Ryoku chuckled a bit to himself after seeing her reaction.. 'Well its evident she likes me but... Is it really me or just my position..' Questioning himself as if he did not want to give into the girl at the first sign of attraction. At Kira's comment he scratched the back of his head. "No, I assure you I was not submitting. Simply reassuring her of her own abilities." Thinking to himself that she might not fully understand the meaning of the word. "Trying to remove any doubts she has of herself, bad thoughts." Turning his attention back to Yukki. "Sorry If I overstepped my bounds, but please see me for myself, not my position." He said once more to really try to get it to sink in at least with her that he did not want to be held on a pedestal. Looking back to Emi he awaited her response hoping that she might have been a bit more understanding to his last statement.
Chloe flew around the area just scouting before catching what Ryoku did with one of the girls below. It was not much of an act but enough to aggravate her some.

Kira tilted her head, still very much confused about Ryoku and Yukki's behaviors, they almost looked like he was asking if she was willing to Mate with him, but then he seemed to back off before the feline could give her response. Kira shook her head and frowned as she looked between them, then huffed and shared a look with Isis, "I don't get two-legger mating customs." The wolf girl mumbled in wolf-speak, which just made Isis bark a laugh. Kira shook her head and sighed before she looked back at the bag of jiggly stuff, "What's this again? And where did you want us to go?"
