Marcelius's face remained exactly the same - not the slightest hint of anything as he mused, "Honesty. Interesting, but perhaps a dangerous policy, little girl." Although it didn't show, he found it rather amusing that the girl had decided to try honesty. Perhaps this specimen would at least entertain him - there had been no sign of weeping or pleading yet, two things that Marc absolutely could not stand. Two things that often shortened a slave's life expectancy considerably.
This man preferred those that did not irritate him.
He unwound the leash from the hook beside the cage and calmly clipped it onto the girl's collar. Without bothering to let her know that he was now finished with waiting around, he turned away and started walking. The girl would keep up, or she would strangle herself.
Marc was betting on survival instinct to make her keep up. But if she didn't, well...it was unlikely that she would choke to death on the short walk to the ship. Unlikely, but not impossible.
Allowing for his longer stride, Maxy might almost have to run just to keep breathing.

((OOC: *scowl* Where is everyone? Also, taking the liberty of dragging Maxy around a bit in this post. If there is an issue, let me know. I will fix.))
If Marcelius was amused or irritated or annoyed by Maxy's jumpiness, he hid it well. His gaze remained patiently on hers until at last she began to move.
About time, he thought. He padded along beside her silently, almost languorously, pleased to note that she was trying to hide her fear. Not that it was working - he could practically smell it. But at least she was trying, and realize it or not, that earned her some points in Marcelius's book. He didn't like whiny or trembly slaves.
And so many of them were.
The walk seemed very short to Marc, but he had no idea how it felt to the slave. Not that it mattered. As they neared the end of the hallway, he stopped and turned her so that she faced a door. "You go in here," he said calmly, tapping a few buttons rapidly so that the door opened. "And you will remain here until I come for you."
She didn't go in fast enough to suit him, so he placed a hand lightly between her shoulder blades, unsnapped the leash from the collar, and pushed her gently through the doorway. Closing it behind her, he keyed in a code. The locks turned.
Satisfied that she would not be messing with any critical equipment while he drove the ship, Marcelius walked off to the piloting area and started it up.

Should Maxy decide to explore the room, she'd find no real cause for complaint. It was spartan, and ridiculously tidy, but there were the basics - a little cotlike sort of bed for sleeping, a little chest that was closed but not locked, and a small door, well-hidden in the wall but certainly there, that led to a little bathroom sort of area. It was different from what they had on Earth, but similar enough that Maxy ought to be able to figure it out.
Marc himself knew about all the ins and outs of the room, and assumed that since he knew it, the slave should be able to find it out (it wasn't really that complex), and thus that the girl ought to be able to fend for herself. For the next little while, Marcelius paid absolutely no attention to the slave's quarters - he was too busy driving the ship.
It might have looked simple enough, but he had to connect himself mentally to every part of the ship that kept it going, and still had to focus enough on his actual destination to steer and correct their course when necessary. It took years to master these old-fashioned ships - the newer ones were more efficient, but Marc liked his old one just fine.
So he steered it silently, heading home at last. He supposed he'd have to deal with unloading his new slave, finding her a place to sleep and so on. But for now, he just wanted to be home again. Alone again.
