Fiona, seeing the opportunity Kai had made for them, shouted the order to fire. With that, her crew did not hesitate - even despite seeing how fierce Kai had become - as surprising as it was. Fiona would sort through and gush over it later - for the moment, all that mattered was making sure the witch went down so that she and Kai could start on their happily ever after.

The sea witch went limp in Kai's arms, the water turning a calm red now that the struggle was over. He took some scratches and bites, but was seemingly unphased by it all. He got what he wanted, but he had to show a side of himself he had hoped to keep under wraps. He disappeared back under the water for a moment, leaping back up into the air and slamming his tail down on the witch's body for one last cathartic blow. He then looked up at the ship, searching for some idea of everyone's thoughts on the scene. He finally made eye contact with Fiona. He opened his mouth, hesitant for a moment, unsure if any noise would actually come out. "....I'll.....meet you back at shore. I need to do something first." he told her before slipping back underwater with a flip of his tail, dragging the sea witch's corpse down with him.

Some were horrified, others simply shocked. Fiona, however, looked just as loving as ever - perhaps even a bit impressed at how Kai managed the witch. This perhaps showed a startling lack of concern for life, but then again Fiona had always grown up on war stories and the like. She felt like she was in the middle of her own right now, a heroic protagonist in a small tale of valor. "I'll meet you there~" she called out in a sing song sort of way, before turning to her crew and beginning preparations to head back home.

Several hours passed before Kai's blue tail fin broke the water's surface. Once he reached the shore where Fiona waited for him, he floated with his head above water, a smile on his face as though the rather horrific display from before never happened, the only signs that it did were the odd open scratch on his arms and face and a bite mark on his shoulder. "Sorry to keep you waiting." he was practically glowing, glad everything was over.

The moment she caught sight of him, Fiona ran barefoot towards the ocean waters, a giddy grin easily shining through. She plopped down before long, not caring that she would get her sundress wet by sitting in the water so long as she could be near Kai. "Dont worry, it wasn't that long a wait." she reassured him.

"Just thought I'd do a little spring cleaning..." Kai said as he hefted a large makeshift bag made from an old sail up onto the beach. Opening it up was a great pile of treasure and items scooped up from the ocean floor, the nearest shipwreck, and the witch's lair. Sitting on top was the familiar red gem that had let him walk on land before. "I thought there must be something in here worth a decent bit of coin. I thought you might be able to sell some of it and try to help your family's financial situation." he then reached in to pick up the gem and tossed it up and down in his hand a few times. "Well, except for this. This we keep."

Fiona let out a giddy squeel, just barely keeping from tackling Kai on the spot. "You have no idea how much you've saved us! Oh, you sweet, sweet darling man~" She sounded absolutely excited, but then again, could you blame her? Thanks to Kai's 'spring cleaning', she would not become homeless. Her mother and grandfather would still live in the family manor. There would be no more arranged marriage scares.

Kai probably would've returned that hypothetical hug, but being in the water made that difficult. "I'd return the sentiment, but I'm not stepping back on land until I have a pair of pants waiting for me at the very least." he said with a chuckle. "Although I got to thinking..." he smiled sheepishly as he admired the gem as he turned it over in his hands. "...if this thing can give merfolk legs, why can't it give a human a tail?" he mused as he looked up at Fiona. Their little underwater date was nice, but Fiona had to wear that chunky diving suit. It would've been amazing if he could show her around like she showed him the human world.

Fiona gave the idea some thought, seeming rather delighted at the prospect. But would it really work in reverse? ...Only one way to find out! "Why don't we give it a try and see?" she replied, perfectly willing to try if Kai was. Although, she had to know, "Though...will I have to get undressed first, lest my flesh meld over the cloth or somethin'?"

Kai shrugged sheepishly. "Why do you think I always got undressed before making the switch? Don't know what would happen otherwise, but I try not to experiment with unknown magic." he said as he held the gem out to her, still with the rope he'd attached to be worn as a belt or necklace or however Fiona fancied. "But as you're wearing a dress, the only thing I'd worry about is the waist down. No need to...er...strip completely..." he started to blush, her suggestion and the resulting images only just now starting to sink in.

Fiona let out a girlish giggle as she took the belted gem, wrapping it around her waist before going behind a rock to remove her undergarnments. It didn't take long before she returned, sporting a faint blush as she approached the waters once more. "So...I just get in the water and it should start workin', right?"

"Just think about wanting to switch forms and you should be good." Kai said holding a hand out to her. She could barely swim properly with legs; he was expecting her to sink almost as soon as she came into the water with a tail.

Without hesitation, Fiona grabbed Kai's hand, only bothering to begin with the transformation afterwards. It wasn't long until she was greeted with the unusual sensation of her legs melding together - a strange sort of warmth and unity within her legs as they became one. Watching scales grow from skin and two pillars of flesh hug themselves together was even stranger - but oddly fascinating. Mid transformation she fell face first into the water, no longer able to properly stand on her own. She was now a lovely mer, with as lovely bronzed of skin as ever and her legs now a fish's tail, covered with lovely creamy honey colored scales.

"Thank god your grandpa's not here to see this." Kai chuckled as he took her other hand, helping her stay above the water's surface while she learned to swim and float all over again. "He barely approves of your merman boyfriend; I can't imagine what he'd think if he saw you turning into a mermaid yourself."

"What he don't know won't hurt 'im." Fiona replied with a faint smirk. "Besides, as far as he's concerned, I've probably done dumber an' worse."
