Isa, you should check out Sanderson's Mistborn Trilogy. It's set in a dreary world lacking clear skies and is always victim to ashfall from volcanoes. The world is ruled by the Lord Ruler's iron fist for the last thousand years. The story unfolds when a wily thief named Kelsier, a mistborn (a person who may "burn" allomantic metals), gathers together a thieving crew, and takes on a job to overthrow an empire a thousand years old.

I might give that a read. It's been ages since I bough anything that wasn't food really...and that sounds like a good plot. I'll look it up next time i'm in the local bookstore biggrin

Isa; It was a damn good trilogy. His other book, Elantris was pretty interesting too. xD
