Though Jae's attempt to escape went unnoticed, it was already too late. From behind them both a voice could be heard."How nice, I see you're getting along with your pupil Jae."The voice wasn't cold or sarcastic but a bit more caring. Noctis the hokage himself stood there with his hands behind his back. Seemingly just enjoying the freedom of being outside for once. Noctis attitude seemed to have mellowed out ever since becoming Hokage. Yet it appeared to him Jae was the same as always.

Shock. That was what was written on Jae's face as she looked up at Samuru. Blinking a few times in quick succession she debated what reaction she was supposed to shuffle into now. Honestly she didn't know. Their conversations were always light or jesting, unless dealing with personal affairs. This was neither of those so she just stared at him, releasing her grip on his sleeve and taking the plush that was offered to her with a small smile. "What ar-""How nice, I see you're getting along with your pupil Jae." For one brief moment she had forgotten the reason for her nervousness and rash decision to get the hell outta the village. Clutching the plush tightly to her she let out a small breath, her features blank before becoming animated in the next second. Turning around she narrowed her gaze at Noctis. "Yeah, what's that supposed to mean?" Was he trying to say she didn't get along nicely with other's?
Switching to a more relaxed position, the plush snuggled in one arm and her hand on her hip she fought the urge to toss her hair and make a 'hmph' noise. "What is the Hokage doing out of his office...Aren't you busy or something?" Rhetorical question, not meant to be answered but knowing Noctis he would find the need to answer it. Already her feathers were ruffled. Chill. Breath. It wasn't healthy, being so riled every single time she was in his presence. This conversation couldn't last that long. Hopefully if she just went with the flow for once it would be over before she knew it. Hugging the plush again she looked to Samuru and then back to Noctis, her expression becoming slightly indifferent. "Have you heard if they are coinciding the Jounin exams with the Chuunin exams this year?" She asked him, the first sentence said without some sort of jab or quip. It was something for Samuru's sake, of course she would be a little more graceful about asking the Hokage. She could prod the man in her own name, not at Samuru's expense.
Instantly on guard, Samuru turned to look at the Hokage, his own plush disappearing into his bag. His face went carefully blank, emotions dropping to zero on the surface....underneath it all though, Samuru seethed with dislike and disgust. He...didn't quite hate the Kage, mainly because he didn't know him, but this was the rank responsible for his father's murder being swept under the rug. It didn't matter if this wasn't the Hokage at that time...I'm NOT her pupil. he though, still staring blankly at the Hokage before looking away over Jae's head. Samuru kept his gaze above her head as she spoke, focusing on keeping his emotions tame. The first meeting he'd ever had with the Hokage had stained his opinion of this one. Mainly because he'd met the Hokage's cat and made a fool of himself in front of his siblings. Every meeting after that had been bare minimum for him, asking for missions, performing them and reporting. Nothing personal had been exchanged...and Samuru had avoided everything except Jae for the last year. He rubbed the side of his nose, wondering if he could slip away to get some more food........but guessed that if he tried, Jae would hunt him down and braid his hair with pink ribbons as punishment. Mention of the Jounin exams got his attention and he looked at Jae curiously, wondering if she was doing what he thought she was doing.

After he had spoken he lifted his finger counting down from five, that would give Jae the right amount of time to compose herself and turn to face him with her animated stare."3,2,1."He whispered to himself as she turned to him."I don't know, what do you think it means?" He noticed the plush in her arm and wondered if he should pick up something for Yukiko, she does love bunnies. He hardly caught what Jae asked him but he got the gist of it."Nope, its a slow day." He listened to her ask if the jounin exams were going to coincide with chunnin exams."Why? do you think he's ready?" He then turned to look at Samuru when he noticed he had pretty much the same stare as Jae. He leaned over to look at the boy."Did you teach him how to stare blankly?"The question was rhetorical,but knowing Jae she'd probably make some snappy comeback or got angry...or both. He stopped leaning and walked around them."Do you think you are ready for this Samuru Sanmiitai?"You'd think the Hokage wouldn't know the name of every shinobi in the village. Well Noctis has very good memory, he stopped moving to see the boy's action. A nod of the head would suffice he noticed he didn't talk much around him from the various meetings.

Shito walked along through the village. It was a nice day out and Shito didn't want anything to spoil it at all. Shito kept thinking about the upcoming exams and what he should do about them. He's been really thinking about them alot lately. Shito kept on walking off to the Hokage's office. (EXIT)
"Jae is my friend, not my teacher." Samuru's voice snapped out of his mouth before he could stop it and his ears flushed under his dark hair. He'd pulled his head back when the Hokage had leaned over to look at him ...Hokage.... he added the title onto his statement late, a failed attempt to pretend he was being polite. But at least he'd tried. A year ago, he wouldn't even have done that much. It unsettled him that the Hokage knew his name, mostly because it riled his anger. Did this man know his shinobi had slaughtered an innocent father and broken a family?! Swallowing a dry spot in his throat, Samuru replied, as honestly as he could "I need more training. More experience...but I think I will be ready." his voice was soft and empty of the anger he felt. He wanted to hit this man, shake him and demand to know why his father's killers still walked freely along the streets! But....Samuru's mouth made what could barely pass for a smile, slim and tight. He needed this man still. The only way he could bring justice to his family was to become strong enough to deal it out himself If it still matters... an unsettling thought. Sudden and unexpected. Of course it mattered....right? Samuru looked away, turning his head so the Hokage and Jae wouldn't see his discomfort.

「 From a nearby rooftop a male listened intently to the conversation below. Hm.. Jounin exams might come soon too? That would be interesting, but of course, less fun than what he had to do. Really, who else gets to fight a undead army that wont ******** off and just die.. for a second time. With a lurch forward and a quick push off, the figure would seemingly vanish from thin air. "He has returned, Noctis. Giotto is back." The deep and dark voice would emit itself from behind the Hokage as a figure stepped from behind. His dark eyes would survey the two in-front of him from behind his mask. Even after all his time in the village, he had never seen these two before.. He should make it an effort to get out more when not doing work. 」™

Obviously. Otherwise why would she have asked in the first place? Noctis was over stepping his boundaries right now, more so than typically. Her eyes narrowed as he made a comment about the blank stares. "Nope. I've just found someone in this village who makes similar facial expressions in your presence." She was many things but 'fake' wasn't one. If she was upset, she was upset unless deliberately hiding it. Samuru was a lot of things as well and he had his own issues but she liked to think he was the same. Sure enough his reproach about labeling Samuru as Jae's student turned Jae's head in his direction. Crossing her arms she listened to Samuru answer on his own. She was by no means his representative. Crossing her arms over her chest she tried to keep her face from betraying the small smile that threatened to form on her face. "Since I have your attention anyway, I would like to request a leave. I have things to take care of outside of the village." Oh how she wished she was already at Konin level. She didn't want to report to someone anymore. Especially if she just wanted to get out for awhile. Nudging Samuru she wished he wanted to give him his chance to ask to go out to Takumi to get his puppets.
A small flare of chakra alerted Jae that someone was amongst them and the voice to accompany the hiccup, drew Jae's attention to the Shinobi that had interrupted the small group. Sometimes I wonder if 'ANBU' really stand for what they are supposed to represent. They were supposed to be a secretive and elite force but they popped up everywhere in the most indiscrete manners possible. Some village shadows. Maybe joining the force was not for her. She could always just work undercover without becoming a part of their 'click'. She would have taken this opportunity to leave but was waiting for clearance before she did.
Taka had been on an off duty patrol. During her sweep of the streets she saw a few old faces that caused her to smile. A year had past and they were still alive, and well it seemed. She stopped on the rooftop and just waited for a little while. She had her mask off for the first time in a while, and it was in her pouch to not draw attention to it. It wouldnt be long before she would be back on patrol however, so for the moment she just stayed silent and watched her old students.

XXXXXStanding silently atop one of the rooftops lining the Konohagakure streets Mikoto couldn't help but give a soft smile, seeing his Otouto appear before Noctis in a burst of speed. To normal Shinobi it would seen as just pure speed, but to the Shinsetsu heir it was merely a slow blur, his eyes capable of keeping up with Kazama's base speed rather easily. Taking a deep inhale of breathe Mikoto took a single step forward, dropping from the rooftop at a rapid rate. Flipping mid-fall the male's feet collided with the earth below, a loud thud indicating he was rather heavy, followed by the small crater he'd formed in the earth upon coming in contact with it. Stepping from his landing spot the male strode forward gracefully, his long black and red jacket billowing behind him with each step as he walked towards his Otouto and cousin. Stopping before the two the black-haired male shifted his gaze to the side, glancing thoughtfully at the two others standing near them. The boy was rather tall, standing at nearly his own height of six foot four, though he seemed rather young compared to others he'd seen. The woman he was with however looked slightly older, most likely near his own age or perhaps a little older, with long pink hair and what seemed to be emerald colored eyes.
XXXXXShe was rather beautiful, something that caused Mikoto to give a slight smile to himself, though it dissapeared seconds later to reveal his calm face. His amber eyes staring apathetically at the two before shifting once more to his Otouto and cousin. "It's been quite some time Noctis..how are you cousin? Kazama hasn't told me much of what's happened recently during his visit with me." His voice unlike his Otouto's deep and dark voice was devoid of all emotion, though it retained it's smooth silky sound the apathy made it quite the strange combination to behold. Shifting his piercing amber gaze once more to the side, this time more towards the rooftop he'd been standing on. There atop the rooftop was Takamatsu, his previous sensei; though she hadn't changed much he still couldn't help but give an emotionless chuckle, something he was known for being able to produce when he wished to.

Uncomfortable. That was an understated word as Samuru found himself suddenly in a larger crowd then normal. First was the Anbu...another less then thrilling arrival. At least it snapped his emotions from anger to wariness and he finally displayed a little emotion. His brow furrowed, eyes going over every inch he could see of the Anbu, whether sizing him up or preparing for something...unsure. He nearly missed all of what Jae said when a second man arrived, dark haired and heavy set it appeared. Cousin? So the Hokage had family....how....nice for him. Samuru took a breath in through his nose and his hand went to his bag, resting on it as Jae nudged him "..." he wasn't sure if now was the time to ask. Jae had, certainly, but Jae had very little restraint when it came to...well, anything. However, seeing as this new man was family to the Hokage....Samuru suspected there might not be a lot of time to ask later "Hokage...I'd like to go with Jae. And to make my own trip to Takumi." Trying to avoid mumbling, Samuru's voice was soft and light to hear. It sounded androgynous despite having broken nearly a two years ago. Not speaking for years had taken most of the hard edge from it...

Noctis heard the response of Samuru that Jae was just a friend and not a teacher. So jae was just hanging around not even trying to teach the kid? Well whatever she wanted to do wasn't his problem. That's when he sensed it, a slight pang of hostility, it didn't take a brain surgeon to realize where it was coming from. He looked over at Jae who seemed to just be idly standing by so it had to be coming from the boy since he only felt after he finished speaking to him. He wondered why he was like that towards him? Was he mad that he questioned his skill? It was a normal question to ask if someone was prepared for something? Was it that he called Jae his teacher? That didn't make any sense either, he recalled that the other triplets seemed to act the same way. This concerned and interested him at the same time. He had been thinking idly too long after the boy spoke he came back to himself and nodded."I see, well I'm sure with Jae by your side you will gain all the experience you need, though I haven't heard anything about jounin exams I'll look into it and if it turns out they don't have them come see me and I'll give you a test." That when he heard Kazama finally leave his perch of the rooftop. He listened to what he said and nodded."I see that's good to hear." He then looked at Jae who finally responded."I see, didn't think there were more of you."He said obviously jesting. Noctis listened when Jae asked for another leave. He had just given her one a year ago didn't he? And she did take quite the while in that leave."You don't need my permission to take anyone you claim to be a student out into the world."He said giving her a hint. Even if Samuru wasn't her pupil if she claimed it as such she could go anywhere. He noticed everyone arriving around him again."Ugh I feel like i'm in my office." And finally Gitoo appeared landing somewhere and creating a crater."Great, now I gotta sign something to have that repaired."After Giotto spoke Noctis proceeded to flick Giotto forehead."I've told you before not to call me cousin in public."Though he was the supposed heir to his clan, that meant nothing in Konoha."Welcome back Giotto it's good to see you."He voiced smoothed out and he smiled at his cousins Then turning back to Samuru he listened and nodded."It's always good to ask for what you want, but like I told Jae as long as she says you are her pupil you can go anywhere with her. Just be careful." The Hokage leaned over to the boys ear."And take care of Jae for me okay?" He whispered and stretched."Have fun in Takumi."

XXXXX Cocking his head slightly to the side Mikoto couldn't help but give another laugh devoid of all emotion, his apathetic eyes staring directly at Noctis as the man spoke. He had forgotten of Noctis's demand for him to not to call him cousin in person, something that he honestly didn't see the need for but he complied anyways. When the man spoke directly to him about his return Mikoto gave a soft smile, something that looked rather creepy at the moment with his apathetic gaze following it. "It's good to see you as well Noctis..though I'm afraid not all things are well for me at the moment..Kazama just informed me of our father's death." Giving a heavy sigh the Shinsetsu heir crossed his arms stiffly over his chest, the muscles lining his arms and torso rippling with the movement. Due to his intense training during the year he'd been away his muscles were like that of perfection as some called it, looking as if they were carved from the highest quality stone. They weren't too large yet also not too small, perfectly fitting his body type and fighting style.
XXXXX Thankfully during his time away from the village he hadn't bulked up too much, though the heavy armor he'd been wearing to train with wasn't helping to rid peoples minds of that thought. Giving a heaving sigh the male reached for the hooks of his chestplate, unhooking the straps binding it to his body. With that done he quickly sealed it away into a seal upon his wrist, so as to not cause any further damage to the world around him. With that done he reached up to his left shoulder, unstrapping the large metal gauntlet that surrounded the smaller version he wore upon his arm. It was mostly to protect the lighter armor, which was mostly used to augment the power of his left arm. Reaching up to crack his neck loudly the male gave a sigh of relief, happy to finally be out of the heavy armor. "Ah..much better. I apologize for the road Noctis..feel free to take it out of any future pay I'll make. I forgot I was wearing that armor when I dropped." Giving a slight smile the male shifted his gaze around once more, focusing on the boy from before. He seemed rather angry at something, though it was only for a moment that he'd felt the emotion. Shaking his head Mikoto couldn't help but step forward slightly, placing his hand at his waist before giving a graceful bow. "My apologizes for not introducing myself, that was quite rude of me. Mikoto Suoh Shinsetsu, Jounin." His emotionless drawl did little to show he actually cared that he hadn't introduced himself.

Rolling her eyes she was already getting very irritated with Noctis and it had only been five minuets or so. "Yeah, yeah. Thank you Hokage sama." Her sarcasm was thick as she addressed him through his title. What was his fixation on the whole pupil thing? Samuru was not her pupil. It was as if he was trying to justify their company through that. No. Don't try to figure out how he is thinking, you will just end up back to square one girl... She thought to herself, idly waiting for Samuru to toss in his own two sense. Noctis gave him the clear and then leaned into him to whisper something. Whatever it was, Jae wasn't comfortable with Noctis doing that so she reached out and grabbed onto Samuru's sleeve from behind and tugging him back lightly. It was the second time she had done so but this time it felt more like it was done for his sake rather than her own. Her expression was slightly strained, the addition of two others in the clearing made Jae uncomfortable. She didn't like being mobbed by new faces. Especially the relative of Noctis who introduced himself to Samuru as Giotto, a fellow Jounin. Normally she would have been slightly interested in meeting someone at her level but his relation to Noctis automatically made her want to ignore him and she did exactly that. As quickly as she reached out to grip his sleeve she released her grip.
Looking around her slowly, she looked up, as if staring at the sky and then let her icy gaze skim the rooftops. Clasping her hands behind her back, the picture of leisure she searched for the other chakra signal that was calling to her. There were not many Jounin she had met or high ranked shinobi in the village. It was not hard to sense that there was another 'pulse'. Jae looked back down, at the group, uninterested in the conversation now. "Well have fun playing Hokage." She said to Noctis, avoiding his gaze. This was as formal as she would get and it was her lousy attempt at excusing herself. She wanted to prepare for the Sage Lands and Takumi. "Samuru?' She was unsure if he wanted to bail as much as she did but if he wanted to hang around the other's she didn't mind. It was his chance to make other friends. Uggh.. That thought made her slightly irritated? Was that the word for it?
