((Hahah, a hobo taking her heels. Well done))

Nicholas could only chuckle when Anastasie gave her excuse for having visited the kitchen. He would never grow weary of her bold ventures. It was always something new and he loved hearing of it.
"You're too good to me." Nicholas insisted with a smile when she said she was not upset, only curious. There was no other so benevolent and understanding. Nick felt he could always count on her. The Cognitio may possess riches in money and other material goods, they may have high connections and vast knowledge of worldly topics, but, if anyone asked, his greatest treasure would be Anastasie.

The white-haired vampire exhaled while thinking of a reply to her question. Where to start? Nick wondered. Things had gotten more than a little complicated quickly. His thoughts were distracted when Anastasie moved them both to the dance floor but the man happily co-operated. He wrapped his arms around the Origin and held her while she rested against him.

"There was a human." Nick had finally explained. It was the simplest, clearest yet the most vague way he could define the entire evening. Truly the poor girl had been quite the motivator for the mischief between the vampire Consorts.
He smiled weakly, understanding that that may not be a very good excuse. "Let me show you." The words were whispered and he closed his eyes. The unique power of the Cognitio helped them learn from each other very effectively.

The requirement, for them to be physically close, was fulfilled and as Nicholas activated his power, images of the events that had taken place during the evening began to seep into Anastasie's mind.
There was the moment when he had first found Valen and Jackie together. Next when he had talked with Jackie and she had mentioned the school she worked at and the invitation to the 'book club'. Valen's reappearance with Jacqueline's parents. Meddling with the humans when Valen took the human to the gardens and finally when Nicholas found them in the gardens.
To show her every precise second would be a burden on her mind. The most efficient use of the power was to show her what was significant and how this all happened.
"... Then, we're here. The human girl, Jackqueline O'Conner, left the party at the start of the duel." He felt really silly mentioning the duel, the concept of it seemed so out of place now. It was a little surprising thinking it did happened.

(Finally read all of that.....I can honestly say I have never had to read so much in only 4 pages. My cornea are hurting rather badly from Snuggles posting in yellow and small print. But I am finally caught up and thankful I didn't join in god knows I dislike doing posts that long on anything except my RP starting posts ~_~.)

Looking over her artwork Kael barely heard her words as he judged her art personally for a few moments. It was well done each stroke done from memory of the events and even tho it was an abstraction he could easily tell it was a different sort of view of there dance from earlier. Marie was becoming more and more irresistible as time went on and he stayed close.

Smells and sounds hit him over the course of her drawing as Kael simply ignored them completely focusing on her artwork. Studying each line and placement for color he remembered it all. His ears had picked up some of the noises that were going on within the party but he didn't seem to care much aside from when Valen apparently walked out into the cold night air. His scent on it had been unmistakable. The smells around him had been unfamiliar to him and he figured they were simple party participants.

Finally snapping back to reality and the question that Marie had posed Kael stood up finding the position he had been leaning in had locked up his back a bit. Stretching he nodded at her tho which of her posing questions he was nodding to at that moment was unclear on. "I don't think I would wish to return to the party at the current moment. Far to many of those stuffy participants would make it feel as if my creativity was being drained" he laughed a bit walking around to the front of the bench. "I say we take up your offer of the moonlit stroll thru the garden. I doubt Mr. Wayan will mind much if one of his help happens to find us." Reaching his hand to her he offered her a way up so they could move thru the garden.

(( ^^; sorry I had been considering changing it but I decided to wait untill someone said something ^^; sorry I'll change it ~ Also I'm waiting for Zer to post before I do sorry for any inconveniance))
PostPosted: Sat Mar 03, 2012 11:58 pm

((Sorry for the wait then Snuggle. I took a bit of a break to set up my financial situation in order.))

Reaching up to take the offered handkerchief he wiped at his eyes gratefully, clearing away the remnants of the pepper spray from his features. He was just glad to have the pain of the mace free from blocking up his vision much longer, for he had been concerned at how long (relatively speaking) it had taken him to recover. "Oh Lord Justice was not too much of a problem Mrs. O'Connor. Besides that, your husband is a great man and certainly has considerable patience made evident in his help towards resolving what just happened. Of course, you yourself had no small part in helping to clear up that unfortunate business and I do appreciate your efforts. They were a welcome light against the great mayhem that unfolded all because of my foolishness."

At her blunt introduction back into the recently resolved matter he smiled softly in genuine expression, recognizing that she was still trying to invite him over in spite of the rather unpleasant fact of what had occurred. The idea of declining her offer did not appeal to him, and even beyond that he wished to at least attempt to try and re compensate for the night. "It would be my pleasure to come over for dinner later in the week. I truly enjoy you and Barry's company, and hopefully I will do better by Miss Jacqueline. I do not blame her at all for her reaction; my personality has often provoked far more...unpleasant responses than this. As for your family, I only ask that we settle things at dinner. I am not inclined to think much more beyond what just happened."

Mrs O’Conner sighed in relief, the fact that she had managed to save her family from any retribution (both physically and financially) was a great deal of worry off of her shoulders, Valens openly accepting the invitation to dinner only cementing her feeling of ease.

“Barry and I would be most humbled to have to dine with us and as this situation had arisen from Jackie’s foul temper you should choose the date and time~” the older woman’s previous business like tone melted into that of a mother cooing over a new born child “and as for Jacqueline don’t mind what she has to say, you were invited by myself and Barry as a means of sorting this disaster out so you will have as much right to be there as her” taking the handkerchief back Maria dabbed the small patch on his cheek Valen had managed to miss before tucking it safely into her purse, her eyes flicking to the watch on her wrist “I think it’s about time myself and Barry made our way home, its late enough and Jackie has work in the morning” Giving the male vampire one final pat on his shoulder Maria nodded to the entrance “are you coming in dear or do you want to stay out for a bit longer? If so I shall tell Barry about dinner”

~~~
Jackie mumbled something incoherent in her sleep before rolling over, her face pale and clammy as her mouth pressed into an ever tighter line, her eyebrows knitted together in a pained expression as she watched the bus crash replay, over and over again in her dreams.
((^^' this is only here just to stop it being an all NPC post, how sad am I. Also shining is that colour any better for you??))
Marie noticed Kael studying her drawing which still laid open on her lap. Though he did not say anything, she hoped that this was a time when "no news is good news" were true. He was such a highly esteemed artist, she couldn't bare the idea that he might find her artistic ability lacking in what she might have made it seem to be. That and she was a painter, not a drawer. Her true skill comes out with brush and canvas.
Marie waited for a moment for Kael to make his decision on her question. Of course he didn't have to stay with her, which was why she offered to go back to the party in the first place. It was her understanding he had come with a few others and perhaps he would want to rejoin them. But at the same time, she hoped to have his company just a little longer.
When he finally did answer, Marie grinned rather brightly. "That sounds wonderful." She said, closing her sketch book and placing it back in her purse. She took Kael's hand and got up from the stone bench. "Lead the way." She murmured, allowing him choice of the many curving garden paths of the Wayan estate. Somewhere in the back of her mind, Marie wondered fr just a moment where Evelyn was, and if she was still alright without her.
Evelyn, or Evie as she preferred to be called, was in fact perfectly fine. The party was in full swing, and she had some handsome party or another for almost every dance. Now mind you they were just dancing. Not other contact involved aside from a kiss on the hand from some of the more gentlemanly types. In between dances she tried to keep an eye on Marie to see where she might be. After her last dance she did notice her friend slip out the side door rather hurriedly with a rather hansom man. Evie quite intended to interrogate her friend later about the fellow, but for now she would continue with the festivities.
Two or three dances later, Evie simply couldn't go on. Even though her career meant her being hours, days even out in the wilderness, she simply couldn't continue dancing in those heels for a moment longer without a rest. Her final dance partner was polite enough to find her one of the gilded seats for her, and from a passing waiter she took a crystal glass of ice water to sip on for the time being. It was a couple moments after that Evie took the time to really look at her surroundings. Though Marie might be impressed by the number of paintings, it was the flowers that adorned the room that interested Evie. Most were exotic, and all were crossbreeds from the wild flower to best bring out their beauty. Under her breath she murmured her guesses at the plant families that might belong to, Nymphaeaceae, Liliaeae, Onagraceae, Asteraceae, Droseraceae, Rosaceae....
Among the other vampires invited to Wayan's estate, there was one Origin that refused to go. Well...not so much SHE refused, but certain members of her clan insisted she stay home, relax, stay safe and protected within Illuminatus walls curled up with a book or needlework. Matthia however, felt restless and paced the lush carpeted floor of their grand estate, one hand holding a forgotten book and the other cradling the faint bulge that was just beginning to form at her abdomen.
Growing tired of pacing, the Origin placed her book down and took a seat at one of the chairs by the fire. Her emerald gown fanned out around her legs, matching the width of the chair itself. On the end table next to her lied Wayan's invitation. Glancing at it for just a moment, she took the heavy paper and tossed it into the fire, watching the flames lick the edges and make it curl and blacken. Once it had dissolved to ash, Matthia looked up at the grand clock in the corner of he room. Past midnight, she could only wonder where her husband, or any one else of her clan might be at this hour. Likely out feeding, and hopefully planning to bring her back someone.
((The plant families Evie listed were, water lilies, lilies, evening primrose, asters, sundews, and roses. Incase anyone was curious. ^.^ ))
((Amazing, I found the Chocolate post color. I am so very happy.))
"I'll take it from here, thank you very much." Charles whispered to the servant right after taking hold of the silver tray they were carrying. A bottle of fresh blood and two glasses were well balanced on top of it, looking quite a lot like some red wine. The servant let go with a bow, allowing Charles to be the one to deliver the meal. "... How do I look?" He had to ask before he would go in. Charles had just arrived from actually getting this blood and had managed to dress surprisingly well in the short time he had been back at the main house. He wore black trousers, dress shoes and blazer over a white button-up collared shirt and black tie. Casually formal as he called it. "Dashing, sir." The servant replied, though Charles knew he had told them to always say so.
"I do not wish to be disturbed, do you understand?" That he had to make sure. "You are excused." As the servant walked back down the corridor, Charles opened the door right next to him and entered. He smiled as he could see Matthia seated in a seat near the fireplace. "Evening my love." He greeted her pleasantly as the door banged closed.
Charles adjusted his posture and walked calmly over to her. He placed the tray down on the nearby coffee table and picked up the bottle. "Would you care for something to drink?" He asked Matthia, taking a moment to observe her everlasting, perfect features. From that dark, flowing hair, to those stunning hazel orbs, and her full, smooth lips... He knew his wildly green eyes would never lay their gaze on anything more beautiful. Below that, her form was particularly pleasing, and then her stomach - his heart melted at the idea of them bringing a young one to their lives. Such a rare occurrence for vampires, and as such a very precious one.
Charles' green eyes returned to Matthia's brown ones and he popped open the bottle of blood with his strong fingers. The smell of fresh blood filled the air. "I've done my best to find only the most pleasing taste for you, my lady." Charles commented softly and poured the blood into the two, perfectly clear glasses. Their purity was stained by the crimson liquid sticking to it, leaving the inside of the glass stained as it was filled.
Charles put the bottle down and picked up both glasses before kneeling down in front of his Origin and wife. Up so close, it was apparent Charles had not cleaned up as well as he thought after feeding earlier - there was the most miniscule, yet evident, spot of blood on the edge of his lower lip. Blissfully ignorant, he went ahead and offered Matthia one of the glasses. "How has the evening been treating you? Are you well?" More than anything, the question was out of concern due to her new status as mother-to-be. Oh he would admit he was being particularly overprotective, yet no one could make him stop.
Little known to the partygoers (both vampiric and human) know that their host, in the guise of the Vampire Bat, was watching them from the ventilation, on the lookout for any aggressive behavior on behalf of the vampiric guests.
So far, the only aggressive behavior he had seen was directed at him by Lilit. Not as eventful a night as I had hoped...
((*om nom nom* Chocolate. ^.^ ))
Matthia looked up from her chair when she heard someone approach from the other side. A soft, loving smile spread to her lips when Charles walked in, carrying in what she suspected to be blood. "Yes please. I'm absolutly famished." She murmured in response. Not to mention she was delighted to have someone other then herself for company. She watched as he poured the red liquid into the flawless crystal glasses, her hunger growing the second she could smell the blood within the bottle. The growing origin inside her made her hunger more then usual as of late. But Charles always ensured she was kept well fed, never in want for that crimson nectar.
When her husband knelt before her, Matthia accepted the glass from his hand, and took a small sip before speaking. Still warm...perfect. She liked her blood like humans liked their meals. Warm and fresh. Not cold and preserved. It just didn't have the same bouquet. "Mmmm....she was an aristocrat wasn't she?" Mattia asked, letting the taste linger on her tongue.
Looking down at Charles, Matthia smiled softly, "I'm well now that you are here. I was feeling oh so restless being cooped up in here. Do you suppose we could go out tomorrow night? Please? I believe the theater is showing Othello. You know it's one of my favorites." She knew Charles was overprotective of her, but she just wanted to go out somewhere. The theater surely certainly would be safe enough with her consort with her.
Looking down at said consort, Matthia' eyes zoned in on the spot of blood at the corner of his lips. She set her glass down for just a moment, to lean in an kiss the side of his mouth, her tongue darting out for just a moment to get the small drop.
((Yes, chocolate! ^.^ Hahah. Do vampires eat chocolate? o,..,o Or just strictly the red stuff for them? Also Wayan must have been busy changing clothes, because he missed the sword-duel that went on, involving a vampire. Yes, really.))
Charles grinned happily when Matthia apparently enjoyed the blood, most happy to please her. She even knew the type of person it was from, and the gender. No surprise her taste buds were so attuned he supposed, it was simply one of her many gifts.
"Othello?" Charles repeated thoughtfully as he thought it over. His mind was brought to an abrupt halt however when she removed the small spot of blood on his lip though, and his smile returned. "Of course we can go out, and I shan't leave your side till we have." He spoke softly and gave her lips a soft peck. More persuasive than anything was her gentle charm.
Going out could not be that bad, at least just once tomorrow night. They would have the adequate protection in place, just in case, and would return right after. Charles took a mental note to keep his lady in good spirits till then.
((Sure why not? They still have an intact digestive system after all))
Matthia giggled softly, her hands coming together in a soft clap in utter joy. "Oh wonderful!" Matthia replied, kissing her husband on the cheek for just a moment. "I did so hope you would agree. Because I already had Augustine go out and purchase the tickets for me." Augustine being one of their various servants. Humans, who as part of an agreement were protected from being feed upon, and protected from other vampires, for their service and discretion. From a little box ontop of the side table next to her chair, Matthia produced four tickets to the play tomorrow night. "I thought Syren and Aislinn might enjoy coming with us as well. Though Aislinn may be blind I'm certain she may still find beauty in the poetry of the words." Matthia set the tickets down on the table so that Charles may inspect them if he wished."I just have one request Charles. I know you will put protection in place for me. Though I do wish that you would make them less...obvious. I do not enjoy feeling like the Queen everywhere I go, everyone watching simply because of the imposing entourage."
