"Not to mention we're the only ones out here anymore." Kai said touching his forehead to hers. "I always wondered what scale color you'd have. It compliments your eyes rather nicely." he offered a smile, unflinching at his sappy lines as he pulled her down underwater.

Fiona's cheeks, once again, were rosying up at Kai's words. It was nice to know that he found her new tail attractive. She offered him a similar smile as he took her underwater. It was odd and frightening at first, the way water filled her lungs so completely. It was as if she were drowning, yet she wasn't. She could keep a clear mind now, and she could think rationally. Hell, if she wanted she bet she could even talk.

"And here I thought you'd be panicking a little more." Kai was rather impressed she took to breathing underwater so readily. "Swimming with a tail's much easier though. No coordination of limbs to worry about."

"Oh, I'm freaked out. But in a good way? I guess it's comfortin' to know I ain't in danger a drownin'." Fiona admitted with a small shrug. "If anything, I feel weird...not havin' two legs. I feel like I'm only putting in half effort swimming, even though I'm not. Like I'm gonna drown, but I'm not. It's...kinda hard to explain, I guess?"

Kai gave a small chuckle. "You'll get used to it. I may have half-assed my swimming expertise before, but I think I've got a better idea of how things work down here." he joked. "But even if you do start sinking like a rock I'll still pull you back up." Even if she couldn't drown like this, he wasn't going to just let her sink and fend for herself.

"Thank you. It's such a relief, knowin' I've got you watchin' over me." Fiona flashed a grin, swimming well enough - if not as skillfully as Kai. Her awkward movements were mainly from the fact that she had one limb to move instead of two, a fact she was not yet used to. Still, she wasn't sinking just yet, so there was hope.

"Here, it's just like this." Kai held out one arm and made a wave-like motion with it before breaking off from Fiona to swim around and let her watch how he swam. "Steering's mostly done with the torso, and everything else is just the same back and forth motion with your tail."

After some careful observation, Fiona attempted to copy Kai's movements - and succeeded for the most part. She wasn't perfect, and her movements were a little jerkier than his, but she was managing well enough - and one could suppose that's all that should be expected for now. Especially of a beginner such as herself. "How's this? Am I doin' better than before?" she asked with a timid smile.

"You're not sinking, so that's a plus. Enough practice and you'll get the hang of it. Just work on the basic motions and then work on making them smooth and you'll get it." Kai very gently held her tail, moving it in the proper way to give her an idea of what it should look and feel like if she were doing it right.

Fiona took mental note, and doing as he instructed, eventually got a better hang of things. When she felt confident enough in her movements, she then asked, "So..where's this shipwreck that you mentioned?"
