A few days had passed, by the time Kaelthas had returned to his home. Unsurprisingly he was met with worry and anger on his fathers part. He was a decent man but his over protection of the prince at times greatly got on Kael's nerves. His reward for returning home safely was being confined to a part of the castle under round the clock guards supervision. The king was going to be assured the prince stuck to his royal duties and was not out galavanting around who knew where. Much to Kaelthas's relief unlike what was the case in the kingdom of beasts, the king of man had not found out about his presence in the other country.
Days turned into weeks, as the prince continued his duties. Many a female suitor was brought before him. Scholars, Entrepreneurs, and many another held jobs by them. Princesses of different barons within the Kingdom. Each brought forth to try to be offered as marriage potential for the prince. Each one being denied by that very person. None of them caught the princes eye. His heart already taken by another that none of these women could hope to hold a candle to. His disapproval was another further spine in his fathers side. He was at an age where he should have long since taken a bride but, he spent much of his time studying magic. A mage was one of the few female suitors the King could not produce for the prince.
Weeks turned into well over a month. Time for the prince had gone slowly by in his forced seclusion. He had been let of the castle a few times, simply to be allowed to show his face within the kingdom or at social events. Otherwise he had been under watch in his half of the castle. He had tho not been spending his time in vain. In his time he had been working more and more with several of his illusion spells. It had taken him some time to finally fully perfect it, longer still to cast it's enchantment upon a piece of jewelry. Now tho, he had finally been taken from his lock down. Which was deemed to be long enough for the man. He was free again, a fact he would soon exploit as he had made a friend in the guards.
In the middle of the night, as before. Kaelthas had fled the kingdom, his path the same as before. Cloaked under a glimmer, the prince had this time left something in his wake that would ensure his disappearance would not be noted. A guard, his friend he had made, now wore the jewelry he had enchanted. Upon it, both the man's likeness and voice had become the prince's. It was not hard to convince the guard to take his place. He would be able to partake in all of the royal things he had since only seen from his post. Kaelthas on the other hand, was on his way towards the border. The cave, and one who had preoccupied his thoughts awaited.

The dragoness had not been so lucky. When arriving to her home, she found something that was never a good sign - her mother, father, and siblings - minus one - awaiting her in their dragon forms.. discussing how to find her and bring her home this time. Lucky her, they could call off the search.. but her form was small even to them, and they reprimanded her with booming roars and towering bodies. Aurum tucked her wings and bowed her head low, trying to at least show she was at least frightened if not sorry. This seemed to still them and they one by one returned to their human forms.. only to reveal just how upset her father was with her for her actions this time.
The lectures were never the end of it, and she was stuck to her room for quite some time, for a few weeks even being required to have a servant stay with her at all times. This proved discomforting, as by the third week the dragoness woke each morning with the absolute need to purge and by the end of the week, convinced her father it was the servant that got her sick. Testing her limits, even being so bold as to ask to leave, the dragon was shot down with each request and eventually pouted in her room for a long while.. though without the servant perhaps she could enjoy herself. She wrote down the guard's shifts, made sure to ask any servant she saw to do a request for her, and made note of when her parents mentioned they would be leaving.
Of course.. they did try to convince her to take a mate, but only for their own sake. They brought her dragons, demons, even tried to have her marry to some old wizard that wouldn't even tell her what he was. Aurum turned away every one, and they gave up with her in the first two weeks.. they would just have to convince her to go claim her own land or deal with her forever, they decided. When the third week hit and she claimed the servant caused her sickness, they planned a trip for themselves, feeling as though the young woman had perhaps learned her lesson - after all, she hadn't tried to escape yet, and it was a record for their daughter. They would be gone for three weeks - traveling by sea to a faraway kingdom to visit her sister Fawn, who had married a king in a distant land and lived happily away from the war and strife. Knowing they would be leaving before the end of the month only meant Aurum had to act fast.
By the beginning of the fourth week, the dragon had suspicion that her sickness - which always seemed to fade around midday - was far more than just some servant's fault.. and it was a worry that only made her know the need to get out of the castle was heightened. By the middle of the fourth week, her parents had gone and her siblings were now in charge of making sure the young woman stayed put.. and to put it simply, they weren't very good at it. Aurum made sure to leave early, though her stomach churned when she flew and she had to make frequent stops on her way to her cave. On her first trip back, she noted some of her more "shiny" objects were gone, but the books were intact and her pack - containing the stone, wand, and flask from their trip - was still there, minus her dagger. She waited for Kael through the day, but by the end of it returned home. She repeated this for the rest of the week.. and then for another, and another. Each day the flight was harder to complete, the dragon weighed down by what she knew by now was not a simple bug. She worried he had forgotten her, and laid in her dragon form in her cave, eyes closed as she fought off sickness she didn't want to face.

The day passed like any other for Aurum.. slowly, without adventure or event, and hope faded day by day for the woman. Her parents would return in a week's time and her heart ached to know he had not yet returned before she would have to leave more often, possibly missing him. The young dragoness found herself busy with feeling rather ill, and while her sensed were piqued, most of anything just made her feel nauseous these days.. but it seemed Kael was rather talented, and she did not sense him.
Opening one eye slowly, the woman expected to see a critter of some sort and let out a low rumble thinking she could spook it away. Seeing her human instead, the dragoness opened her other eye and lifted her head lazily, the dragoness shifted into her humanoid as she moved in a careful walk towards Kael. Aurum wrapped her arms around him, pressing herself against him as she grinned into his chest, not speaking but turning her head up to allow him access to her lips. She couldn't find the right words, and nothing felt like it would fit just how much she wanted.. and needed to say.

Knowing her daily struggle with her flight, the dragoness seemed nauseous at even the thought of flying for a couple hours to their previous stopping point.. and she shook her head. "If we go on foot we must reach a town before dark," She said, having her own reasons for needing to sleep in a bed that grew each day.. and she still didn't know if Kael was even fully human, not knowing what sort of body she was growing. Certainly not a dragon, or perhaps her dragon form wouldn't bring her so much grief. Aurum had done well to avoid suspicions from her siblings, never reaching for her stomach when feeling a wave of nausea or divulging herself in something her body commanded her to eat that was out of her usual diet. But she had stopped drinking.. mostly. A glass of champagne every now and then, something she kept from their travels and made sure to purchase again each time she ran out - from Ralph - that both held a reminder of Kael, and calmed her nerves when they were too high. Aurum pursed her lips as he continued on, all business, "You can never just relax, can you?" She teased some, giving him a smile, "At least, not without prodding," She gave a little laugh this time, some of her sickness fading a little as color returned to her cheeks.
