They were not well. They were limping through the sky, but at least it had them laser-focused. With a keen, Saevath was flaming fiercely, anger now fueling her through the skies. The pair would not find themselves downed so easily. They might be hurting, might need attention after, but like HELL Rune would let it end them! What surprised her was Sae twisting around and belching flame out of the way of one of her Wingmates, Be more careful next time, deadglow~.

Anger and adrenaline could only take you so far. Saevath was eyeballing some of the larger dragons of the clutch. Bronzes and browns were not doing their job properly. If they had, perhaps she and Hers would not be damaged as they were. Her red eyes darted around, prompting Rune to poke her dragon mentally, PAY ATTENTION, what if we- And then there was thread, RIGHT there. Shards. SHARDS. This would not be good.

It was a surprise, when Taoloth pushed her out of the way, and the wave from him got a soft chirp of pleasure from the green, At least you're doing your job, dearest Taoloth. I will repay you later.

They were up in the air and in the thick of it so quickly. Tahirah and Taoloth poured their focus into flaming, into trying to protect those around them. It was as they flew near Saevath that the brown saw his green sister aiming towards some Thread. There wasn't a need for any talk between he and his rider as the swift brown suddenly dived down and intercepted the Thread with his body. He had already seen Saeveth and Rune get tangled in Thread and it had taken them longer to return from between.

Popping out of existence and back again, Taoloth sent a wave of comfort to his sister. You can repay me later if you wish. Perhaps we will have slightly matching scars now.

With Saeveth and Rune taken care of the brown pair turned their attention back towards Thread. Taoloth's smaller size was a benefit in making quick turns in the air and allowing them to dodge Thread. One turn was taken too quick and Tahirah had to catch herself suddenly, feeling herself slip in her straps. A quick readjustment and tightening helped make everything right...she hoped.

The relative quiet they had found themselves in was quickly destroyed as the brown pair found themselves in a clump of thread. Taoloth did his best to sear the silver streaks and dodge as best he could but there was just too much. In an instant the pair both let out an anguish cry and they disappeared.

It was harder to concentrate between then she could ever remember and Tahirah found it very hard to try and pull themselves back. It took way longer then it should, the pain searing even in the cold.

They popped back into a clearer piece of air and Tahirah leaned against Taoloth, tears of pain and fear blocking her sight as she did her best to rally herself through everything.

They were doing okay now. Sae had levelled out, and Rune was focused now. The adrenaline high was wearing off, but she would keep going. Through the pain. She was a soldier for Pern, and was determined to prove herself this time...Put behind the ill of the past and be something more.

Time to run firestone, and Rune was hoping it went well. For the most part, smoothly. Most bags flew successfully thanks to Saevath's maneuvering, and Rune's arm. Thank Faranth that they'd spent time focusing on building up her strength! But one bad throw botched that confidence because it was to a Wingleader...But at least she managed to get Stone to the Weyrleader with no problem! That was the one saving grace about this whole thing...

Throwing firestone maybe wasn't as glamorous as fighting Thread but Tahirah was happy for the break. She managed to make each of the throws, except for one, on their mark.

One bad stone bite, and now the pair were grumbling with each other. At least they were headding back after this. There was a lot of pain, a wrenched shoulder on the side that was still raw from the thread, almost colliding with another weyrling, and Rune and Saevath's mouths both working. What no one else in the air could hear was the pair quietly talking among themselves. It would be okay....They forgave one another, but still. OW.

Once more into the thick of things and the fall was suddenly getting heavier. Taoloth was doing his best to make sure he got everything but smaller strands slipped through. Tahirah felt the burn on her arm that caused a jolt of pain and then they were between once more and back into the fight.

Maybe the fall was lightening up, or maybe it was just a clear spot. Heck, maybe they were actually pretty good at this. Taoloth and Tahirah both felt a pride as they managed to flame Thread and destroy it, letting nothing escape them.
