Chet grew irritated by the questions from the other gennin. He wanted to get the show on the road. Beat some bad guys on the way. He didn't care who they were. UHV, HIV, Zika. He didn't sit through all those boring classes just to hear scared kids question everything before diving into the s**t. Life was meant to be discovered not studied. "Tsc. These ******** are killin' my vibe." He grumbled rocking his char back and forth on two legs. Before he could cuss them all out and tell them to get a move on, however, the Hokage announced the beginning of the genjutsu. "Finally." He said letting the chair drop on all four legs just as his world went black.
"Are you ******** kidding me?" Chet asked as he struggled to get himself loose from branches. For what ever reason he'd been spawned into a tree. "Either I got really ******** crazy and woke up in a tree again or I'm stuck in a tree while being stuck in a memory." He told himself trying to decide which sounded the most plausible. Living the way he lived it was very difficult to tell what was real and what wasn't. It created some very interesting situations for the gennin and most if not all were unpleasant such as the one he currently found himself in. Just was he was about to get himself free he spotted a group of men walking down a lone road in nice little formation. Chet felt like calling out for help, but it was all a memory so it wouldn't do anything. After a little bit more struggling Chet fell from the branches and dropped like a brick in a bush. "s**t!" He cursed getting twigs and dirt out from his hair. "Oh s**t." He whispered with his eyes widened remembering they were supposed to observe. After watching everything go down, Chet only had one to say. "What the ******** is going on?" The boy was completely and utterly lost.

Kya watched the body language of Sumiko who began to prattle out every question her miind could find to ask. She was positively bursting with energy, and it, infact, was highly bothersome. Kya hung her head to the side, looking away to hopefully stop the brightness of the little girl from blinding her. She had some interesting powers, sure, but it was too early for Kya. Even if it was only 2:30. Her eyes eventually fell over on Rayne, the bookworm as Chet had called him. Speaking of Chet, his mumblings didn't go unnoticed by her and made her chuckle a little. For a kid with a skull tattoo over his face, he was alright in her book. Before she even went to smirk, the Kage spoke up and snatched away her attention. She sat up, gripping the Gunbai between her legs for support and leaning in, eager to begin. She nodded her head to the woman, eager to begin. The assertion that their society had evolved beyond the use of chakra towards one that abhorred it struck Moody Blues as a little odd. Either way, she was more than ready when the world around her went black.
Her nose seemed to be the first to awaken, taking in wood and root, floral aroma and... rodent. Then her ears came undeaf. She could hear Chet struggling in the trees as the blur of greens and blues and browns settled into an image of the sky and canopy above her. Chet thought he was in a trip of some kind, which was funny. She rolled to the side, out of the bush he fell into to avoid being fallen on just as the man began to question Harv. She trusted that the Kage hadn't lied about this being a memory only, and as such didn't make an effort to hide herself. Instead, she climbed a tree nearby and observed their formation, taking note of how they seemed to be surrounding two people. She watched them like a hawk, observing their gear with moderate interest before leaping down around when they began to separate. She analyzed the Kunai the one whom had stayed behind threw as much as she could before it flew towards the woman. This was a weird looking kunai with a weird special effect. The explosion was startling, as she had never seen anything like that before.
Obsidian orbs fell back on the kunai launcher that had launched all of the kunai, burning through the backbone of the forest. She leaned in to see the kunai launcher, interested as to how it worked, kneeling beside him and examining the rest of his gear, rubbing her chin as the black eyes focused in on the armor and weapons he had on him. She stood up as the wind began to blow, hoping that Taka could hear her pose her first question. "How did they know you were there?" she called out. She continued to watch the scene, unafraid of being caught in the gust of wind. She caught a glimpse of the younger kage before she poofed into a log. Kawarimi. Good to know the basics remained useful. "Was it that man's helmet somehow?" she would ask with a bit of her intuition flaring.

So the genjutsu was going to be more like a 3D diorama than some kind of battle test? That worked just fine for Naomi. It was also good, that they'd have a day to rest after this training because she was eager to do some reading on genjutsu. It seemed like a fascinating art that she had yet to tap into. The other questions were of course answered too and she was given some interesting info about the UHV. The notion that they loathed yet still utilized chakra users was quite intriguing. Before she could really thinkg about such things the world would go pitch black for a moment as the genjutsu took effect.
Suddenly the world around her was different as new sights and sounds filtered into her. Though they felt quite familiar already. Taka was gone, and instead she was alone for the moment. That was good because it gave her time to clear the blush that was upon her face. After which she was able to figure out her location and move to where the action was so that she could actually view the unfolding events. Seeing them again would also help to solidify her memories. Eventually the girl found a comfy spot and began to watch Taka's fight against the UHV forces. Kya's question was quite a good one since Naomi was unable to actually sense anything other than chakra from the people in the room and Taka's genjutsu. It'd be interesting to hear the answer out loud.

Sumika had just opened her mouth to start asking more questions after a pause to think when Taka's memory flooded into her own brain. Quite the unpleasant sensation, but the mechanically inclined girl was certainly rewarded for not shouting out loud immediately. "Gotta get me some of those doohickies." She said, watching the soldiers interact with their sensory and communication devices. Kunai launchers, some kind of crazy helmet mounted screen, long range compact com units, rocks that did some kind of crazy weapon jutsu? At least the Genin had an aiming point for her future tinkering endeavors. She also had a new goal: Snag some UHV tech while out on their mission. Didn't matter if the stuff locked itself or whatever, just having it to study would be endlessly valuable to the effervescently energetic Jiton specialist.

Hearing the Kage say that they would have a day to rest after this was quite a relief, maybe he would even have that extra time to train up some more or just rest like the lazy bum he was, the most likely possibility would be the resting, it would help him clean his mind ans calm himself before the mission, the closer he got to the actual thing the more excited he grew, it was like a child nearing his birthday.
Letting his mind be captured by the genjutsu Oga would relax his mind and body to stay in a comfortable sitting position he was in, as the new environment came to life in front of his eyes, he first appeared in the same sitting position he previously was, picking himself up without looking much around he would start walking around he noticing small things, small movements, twitches, eye movements and such, from becoming a samurai he knew that knowing the movements of his enemies was as important as knowing their weapons, a little sense of knowing how they fought gave them a great edge in the battle to come. But soon Oga would lose his concentration when he found Taka, he had been very curious about the tail the girl possessed and maybe this was the perfect moment for him to find out more. It was way more about how she could use it in battle than anything else right? Maybe. He was curious how much balance it would give the person using and if it could be used as an arm perhaps, now thinking about it maybe this was something he should ask the Kage herself, it would be an awkward question but one he would need to answered.
After realizing that he would go no where forward with the tail hunting he would go back looking at the battlefield itself, trying to stay close to the enemies more than any of the others, maybe there were patterns they used in their combat passed down from a superior officer that would help him gain that slight edge in the fight, maybe they had a weakness in their movements, an opening, something readable, motions anything. This was not enough for him to get what he wanted... Until he noticed something, something peculiar that should not be there, a chicken, a bloody chicken running around the battlefield, it was an awkward thing to see but the animal itself seemed well treated and quite fat, "How tasty would that be in a stew?" And there he was, losing track of anything happening around, Oga would follow the chicken till he found Sal. Finally found Sal. "Well... Damn, who is not dead always shows up! Have you happen to see a fat chicken run past here?" Oga would ask the fellow Genin, hoping to get a positive answer. He was way too deep in the Genjutsu now, this wasn't just a memory anymore, it was "The Hunt".

Kisuke wanted for the technique to activate, after a second he was already inside. He began walking out to the soldiers. Taking not of their equipment and formations. His claws raked through the back of one soldier. But they phased through as if he wasn't even there. He looked for anything on them that would make it difficult for them to move or block. It would be good to know these things during direct combat. He then watched the scene unfold as his aunt took action. He went back with the group and followed along. He didn't talk to them, he wasn't in their clique and he didn't need to be. He rubbed fangs head as they continued walking through these memories.

Speaking Thinking
Genjutsu was a foreign skill to Kichiro, who'd yet to attempt learning one. The sensation of being submersed in one was unsettling to say the least. It was a jolt to his systems to suddenly have the scene in front of him morph to something else. There was a definite moment where his senses were completely disconnected from his consciousness before they gripped onto the brand new scene. He hadn't moved, but his body was in an entirely different place. Images flashed and new feelings flooded him in some sort of sensory overload as the genjutsu played out. He couldn't believe he was inside of some illusion; it was far more vivid than a dream and he was undoubtedly feeling the wind against his face, undoubtedly hearing the leaves shuffling.
He was too disoriented to immediately catch the action, but eventually his mind recovered and stopped reeling so he could stand up. He briefly wondered if he was standing in real life if he was in the illusion, but the question was wiped away as quickly as it came as he took note of the soldiers in front of him. They all wore gear he'd never seen before, probably the chakra-manipulating devices the Hokage had mentioned earlier. He frowned. How was he supposed to understand their technology? He understood tools, makeshift gimmicks for distractions, and prayer. This was much above his pay grade, he assured himself. I don't get it. Are these real memories that we're playing inside of or... He would have to study genjutsu when he was back in reality. Everyone else was trying to piece this together but Kichiro was still a step or two behind, unsure about how to react in the illusion. Should they practice fighting the soldiers here, or simply scour for clues? He tried to look around with an interested expression to cloak his doubts.
For a moment, he could truly say that being inside a Genjutsu of memories were worthwhile. He got to witness what somebody else lived, unless somehow they decided that it was time to turn on the nightmares and give everybody a hard time. He was just thinking that right as soon as the Hokage gave note to his sister's "Interesting idea." Sal's crimson coated eyes observed the female before her.
"Just look at her"the blond thought while sizing her up in sheer annoyance. "Chances are she's over there beet red from looking at the Hokage. She's just wanting to show her...Senpai...how she can find the glory hole on anything that breathes with her sex rod of pulverizing submission."
Fighting annoyed him if it was entirely pointless, so sharing in on the notion of wanting to fight clearly was an effortless endeavor. Those were meager notions he could not pride himself on well enough. Still, it did give him plenty of time to properly strategize the future likelihood of dealing with this United Hidden Villages debacle. He was right to assume so. The Hokage had just informed them that they were going right on the field a day after this was over. Boy...
He did as commanded. Without hesitation, he allowed the Hokage's chakra to flow freely within his vessel and gone away was he from the natural world of being in the Academy itself. Reality fractured like glass, culminating into darkness before the voracious presence of pine and cedar filled his nose and the sky up before him had painted shaded leaves down unto his body. He had closed his eyes briefly and it was when he had opened them that he found himself roosting upon a tree branch. How fitting. He could not say the same for others though, particularly the resident vulgar and drunk village fool. One Chet Oni.
"Talk about being stuck between a rock and a hard place" He stated in regards to the male having a fit among branches before taking an eventual plummet to the hard dirt and rock laden makeshift road below through the forest. He did not jump off from his branch just yet though. No. There was studying from the forest alone that required his immediate attention. He liked to get a good feel of his surroundings and this forest was definitely one his preferred locations.
He could smell the pine and cedar, so it was clear he was around some of those trees. Why did all of this matter? It mattered because it gave a good layout of the environment and how it reacted to the rest of nature. Wind was blowing, that meant it was a strong chance the likely hood of spreading out seeds discreetly were high. It may have been a Genjutsu, but his mind was sharp. He could memorize the forest, Sal reaching up to pull down a berry from one of the branches. Fruit grew here, but was it edible? That required study at the Greenhouse once this was over. Something else required his attention.
A fight was taking place, their Hokage, or rather a past version of herself, and a few others engaged in conflict. Something to also note was the relative jumping distance the trees provided. He began to make his way forward until mid way through the jump, he found himself on the back of someone else. This someone was a male clearly taller than him. Oga by any other name and it was there his serious facade faded partially. The male was preoccupied with chasing chickens and Sal...well, this was complicated.
"You're going through all this trouble...to chase a chicken?" He had heard that correctly, right? Chaos was ensuing. The world was probably about to end for someone on this very day and instead he wanted to find one stray chicken running through war? That must have took some serious mediation and focus to pursue after. Maybe he was on to something. He pointed his finger in a random direction away from the fight.
It's running from the fight, so it went that way. He did not leave Oga's back just yet. This required...further studies...

Takas older self appeared on the field amoung the group of shinobi she had placed within the memory. She walked forward, eyes going between each of them. Just reliving this had the hairs on the back of her neck standing on end. But she had to focus. Then there was the one she was pretty sure at this point was intoxicated. Her ears twitched at the comment, unseen under her hair. She frowned slightly. "Right. As you can see and I have stated previously. The uhv have more advanced technology than us. Not by much mind you; we are catching up rapidly due to some shifts in our funding going directly into research and development. Their visors have a updated version of several of the lenses available in the merchent village Takumi. They can sense a variety of things including chakra usage and body heat. Dont expect to hide yourself in any conventional way while you are engaged with them." She said calmly, watching her own fight play out. She turned her head to look over her genin and make sure they were paying attention. She stopped her gaze on the wild looking girl, Naomi. Her body flickered as if briefly she was static on a television then settled back as it was. Her focus was divided.
She then turned to Sumika. She smiled at the girl. "There are a couple people if you can find them that are rumored to have it in with a supplier of their technology but it costs a pretty penny. And they wont sell to villages for our own research. A pity. The rifles they are holding I have personally observed spitting out 30 kunai in a fraction of a second. They can reload them reliably and quickly and if you manage to steal one they stop working. I personally think they are linked to their inherent chakra and cease to function when the persons run out."
The kages eyes shifted when they felt a small bit of malice and annoyance. They locked onto Sals eyes for a moment before dismissing him from her mind. He was looking at naomi. She didnt think anything would come of it. She turned her head to watch more of the fight play out.
Watching the kid from her position, Taka saw a string of seals that indicated katon. She was proficient in the stages of katon to the point of mastery, though she very rarely used it. So Taka created a few quick seals, burning through way more chakra than necessary in what was supposed to be a simple engagement.She inhaled, chest expanding to impossible proportions and back popping slightly as she superheated the chakra in her lungs. A roar came from her as she fired fireball after fireball, knocking out the two flanking dragons on her sides and the third plowing through the middle dragon, the stronger technique overpowering the weaker one and driving forward her offense. Her hands then formed a few simple seals and she summoned her companions to her side. She made a symbol with her hands and the three lions took off into the brush after the other targets, going wide around the fog but making very good time and multiple small targets to shoot at. The nimble lions would follow their targets scent, track them down for their alpha.
_____ As the fireballs defeated the three headed dragon, the central ball would actually join the dragon head, and make the ball more powerful, crawling its way up towards the kid. "Oh hamburgers!" the kid formed a wind ball as fast as he could and tried to take off on it but the outskirts of the blast caught him and defeated his ball, sending him sprawling. his legs were horribly burned, and he was a little dizzy, but was trained enough in his chakra control to do what was necessary. He felt the Pull of unconciousness as he allowed his wind dragon to release the three explosive blasts from his dragon. Then all he saw was black.
Out of the trying pan and into the fire, the trees where then sent horribly ablaze, sending a plume of smoke into the air. The fire risked burning the forest down. One the outskirts of the blaze, the two soldiers sighted their targets and fired their weapons. The first Soldier fired his weapon, the wind element making the 20 kunai fly much faster and farther, aiming to pierce right through Ivi. The second Soldier fired his 20 kunai in a much larger spread , in case Ivi decided to move or dodge. The sheer mass of kunai in this direction, particularly at this distance, would certainly be no laughing matter.
Then men draagging the body, quickly noticed the ******** LIONS runnin across the street for the men escaping and swore under their breath. There were only 2 men that way...not enough for 3 lions. The too took off with an amazing power and speed, chasing down the lions and firing quick bursts at each one of the lions to maximize killing/wounding/maiming potential. The first one fired 3 bursts of 5 kunai with the earth element, granting powerfu stopping power and moment if even a single kunai hit. The other one was using an interesting weapon that scattered 5 senbon an attack with explosive properties, each one exploding with the power of 1/5 explosive tag. With this mix of devastating power and range, even the lions would have problems dodging all of them.
the group running away was notified about the pursuing lions, and then looked to eachother as their pace slowed. through a silent conversation that could not be heard, one soldier and ******** disappeared while the other Soldier told the center man to keep running. as the man took off, the soldier began to have to move backwards, keeping his eye on the danger that was approaching and his weapon gave an unusual hum.
_____ Taka had several things to deal with. There was a mass of wind chakra coming at her as well as a mass of kunai carrying god knows what properties. She acted without thinking this time, her fans being drawn and snapped open. She waved her fan in the direction of the wind blasts while starting to move, blasting out searing wind along her path. Since the kid was unconscious she would carve a path around the kunai and toward the other soldiers, giving him a kunai through his eye socket into his brain; cleanly. The end of another shinobi was a sad moment but she would have no time to reflect. She tightened her leg muscles to power through the remaining jutsu with minor cuts and a few gashes to remember him by her vitals protected by arms crossed taking the brunt of that damage. She let loose her flashes and motes of light as she moved gracefully in her planned arc. She went wide around the area, bouncing lightly from left to right, right to left as she closed in with the soldiers, her fans slowly opening in front of her again, and the dazzling lights flashing constantly on her movements. She would make simple slashes to try and deal with any kunai left in her path, to try and knock them from the air.
Koshi in the mean time would drop back behind his other pack mates. When the opening shot came at them, he took to the air, all the bursts having to pass him to get to his teammates. This was the oldest of the lions in the group and by far the most experienced. He let out a roar, a vortex of wind spinning up around him. This wind would catch all of the kunai, and senbon despite their explosive properties and redirect them at the soldiers.
Shade turned his head as koshi dropped back, his lips turning up and a snarl coming from him. He stopped in the dirt, spinning just long enough to puff out his cheeks, as his tail swished low across the dirt and sent up a small plume of dirt to signify his jutsu. He let loose a massive cloud of ash as it would spread over the soldiers in their position. The senbons detonation would light it, or if they for some odd reason blew while they were being redirected, a click of his massive jaws would do the trick.
Luna in the mean time, kept going, her goal was the two that were getting away. She took to the tree tops to see if she could spot her targets. She let out a roar as she followed their trail, one of her splitting into four as they jumped through the treeline, switching themselves in their paths and making it impossible to tell which was the real one. Two of them even went back onto the ground to be the "primary threats" so to speak.
All the lions would be back in pursuit if the collaboration went off in perfect sync and took out the soldiers. If not, then Shade and Koshi would be dealing with the two tails while luna's group of clones continued after their target.
_____ The soldiers watched as their kunai was deflected by her attacking aggressive winds, and slightly angry that this ninja was not dead yet. How was a single warrior taking down this entire convey. It didnt matter, they had about done their job anyways. Maybe they could keep her busy, at least for now.
The bedazzling display of the ninja was certainly distracting to the following soldiers as they quickly forked to create space between the two, one going to the right closer to the road, the other going left deeper into the forest to avoid the tail end of her winds. They would use trees for cover, as they each grabbed a single kunai and threw it in her direction, creating a crossing pattern to insure maximal offensive and defensive capabilities. The kunai thrown from the "road" soldier would travel deeper into the forest and detonate in a large black mass of cloud an electricity, forming a destructive and even visual barrier between his partner, himself, and the advancing ninja. The "forest" soldier would throw his kunai more towards the road, and it would detonate in a consuming fire mass tat would even light some of the trees in the area, adding even more smoke and chaos to the area, making it difficult to breath for the ninja. If ivi was anywhere near these explosives, then she would surely be either shocked or barbequed. Both soldiers readied their weapons, a slight humming sound coming from them. It seemed the death of the ninja kid had no bearing on their objective.....
The running duo should have known s**t was going to get rough as soon as the one lion jumped over the others. With his mighty roar and the creation of the wind armor, knocked the volley of weaponry back at the duo. the soldier More to the left was lighter on his toes and rolled away from the ricocheted, but the other one was not so lucky. The many needles and kunai would tear into him, the hard hitting kunai causing him to look like he was getting punched by some 900lb gorilla. As he hit the ground, dead, his armor and weapon would fade from existence, leaving a bloodied and mutilated corpse. yet this was still not the end of it.
With the explosive powder in the air, the explosive senbon set it off without a hitch, catching the now dead soldier and the other dead to rights in a large and devastating explosion. The only thing saving him was the blue green aura that appeared around him, then simply faded from existence. Standing out in the open and now against 2 much large foes, the soldier pulled two kunai from his holster and gave them a powerful throw for the lion duo, the kunai erupting in a powerful electrical storm that could fry the lions into lion jerky. Used as an offensive defense, the solider continued running into the forest, his weapon now having a distinct hum, as he continued to look over his shoulder hoping not to see any damn lions after him.
The third lion, giving the designation "Luna" made it into the forest on the other side of the road, and then multiplied into 4 of them. This was too much to handle for now, and would force thee hand of the last defenders. the tail guard, his weapon on overdrive, would unleash a torrential spray of piercing lightning kunai for the rushing lions, aiming 10 incredibly fast kunai in larger spread to insure maximal damage potential, aiming for the one on the ground and 2 in the tree. He would start backing up faster, his projectile weapon fading from existance as he drew a large Kukri style weapon. It seemed it was going to be like this....
Appearing from almost no where deeper in the forest, the last soldier shouldered his weapon, firing a long burst of 10 fire laced kunai at the last lion that had yet to be engaged. Grabbing one of his kunai from his holster, he would hurl it into whatever remaining group was advancing, giving some space for his retreating comrad, and it would detonate in a red burst of scorching wind. If anything was in the blast radius, it was now a dehydrated mummy.
The VIP was so close he could taste it! He could see the complex through the woods now! His protection came at the loss of many lives, but he was going to be very important at this meeting. Stupid ninja...did they think they could actually kill him with such a puny force? Money bought power after all....
_____ Taka didnt know what they were throwing at her. All she did know was that each thing they through at her was a box of nastiness every single time. So she merged her fans together and formed a seal, the emergency one that one used to replace. She made her eyes go wide as she kept forming seals for the cover of this illusion, behind her fans. Their kunai and various properties would seem to go off without a hitch. When the smoke settled, taka would be laying on the ground, several smoking holes in her body and chard portions of her shoulders and face giving off that burnt flesh smell. This was all what she wanted them to see and hopefully they would buy it. She would be nestled up in the trees behind them, safe for now in the canopy from her replacement. She had already taken aim for her corpse. She expected at least one of them to check it to confirm the kill, since they acted like soldiers. She had suppressed her chakra so that no more was being filtered than before she used her jutsu that started the whole melee, though she had her fans locked onto her targets now. She never missed a throw on someone unaware, not since she studied her physical arts.
Shade was considering the soldier when he pulled out the twin kunai. He would dive forward and to the side, closer to the man than that kunai while snarling out a sequence. As he was already in close proximity to the two when the detonation went off, he would be just out of his striking range at this point. He was going for another kill as the kunai passed over him. It would have to detonate safely behind him in order to not catch the guy in the blast. As his paw touched the ground he breathed out a small mote of flames into the air as he kept his distance from that large kukri knife. He didnt want his great journey with Taka to end there. ( see what i did there =D ). Sometimes the best way to dampen damage from an enemy was to get closer to the blade. The flames move about ten feet into the air before splitting and landing on the ground all around the man, before closing in rapidly.
Koshi had other ideas on his mind. He let out a snarled half roar at the man when his hands moved, and replaced with the chard soldier laying on the ground behind him, that person now looking very very crispy as the kunai fried him even further. Koshi would swipe his foot across the ground, a small vortex of wind forming and moving at the soldier.
Luna was the final lion to act. He had one goal. His mission was always the same, capture the fleeing prey and bring it back to Taka for judgment. Alive or dead he always completed this task. The entire purpose of Luna's clones was to protect her long enough to get to her target. So when the person ahead showed himself, one of the lion clones on the ground opened its jaws wide as he opened fire, both clones scattering one left and the other right. One clone would explode when the burst of kunai hit him but as the clone burst, a roar came out of the others mouth mouth, as well as a strong bolt of lightning headed straight for the offending soldier. The same would happen from one of the clones in the trees as one clone went left, taking a barrage of kunai from the soldier and dispelling as luna went right firing a bolt that would be on a line straight for the soldier as luna went into a group of trees for cover, still moving quickly. Luna bounced from a tree, moved around the soldiers area and straight for the vip. It their timing was right, Luna's fangs would sink into his soldier as he got to the treeline. If successful, she would drag the vib back and crush his windpipe to prevent more noise.
_____ Taka's genjutsu would go off, but not in the same way that she had expected. The green blue aura would appear around the duo once again, and their senses would be cleared. Instead of going and searching the illusionary body as she had expected, The "Road side" Soldier would seem to observe around for a moment, and then as if Taka was a glowing beacon, fire a burst of 10 fire infused kunai right for her location, moving east towards the road as he went. the other soldier seemed to know was well, and moved his way south east, using his own positioning as a flanking attack for the other soldier, firing his own 10 velocity increased wind kunai in a larger spread, hoping just to keep Taka pinned down or get a lucky hit. Both of the soldiers popped out a scroll from the mechanisms, and placed a new scroll in.
Unfortunately for shade, the soldier didn't have a kukri out. As the lion neared, the disciplined soldier, grinning i mind you, fired 10 hard hitting earth kunai. He would push forward on the same vector, hoping he caught the lion dead to rights, and performed a quick roll to use the lion as cover if possible. If he had killed the lion, then the fire jutsu would dispell. if he didnt, then he had to bank on the fact that the other wouldn't send something too destructive in the same direction as the lion. If so, he was bout to be in for a rough day.
The two soldiers would attempt to escape but the jutsu would prove to be too fast. They would both be struck by the lightning jutsu, the glow of a blue green aura keeping them from being "oh hamburgered". The one with the Kukri drawn, to the north of the clones position, would draw 2 of his kunai and throw them just a bit in front of the lion, them exploding with a fantastic power of water, creating a brilliant concussive blast and mist to obscure the vision of the lion as the soldier proceeded to retreat backward. He didnt know what else could do at the point. The othsoer off to the east, deeper in the forest would throw 2 more of his own bombs, landing just a ways away from the lion to the east and north east, them exploding in a brilliant red orb that dehydrated all of the trees around the , possible even destroying the clone. This soldier would start sprinting, then up and dissapear again.
The memory would stay roughly the same as the multiple combatants came into view, with one key difference. 3 separate perspectives came into view, hovering above the battlefield. View-screens if one was to describe them. Each screen showed the eyesight of a lion in pursuit of its quarry. Takas form fuzzed into static again and she got a little smile on her face.

Kya's focused eyes fell on her leader, the older Kage version, as she answered the questions that had been posed a few moments ago. She rubbed her chin, following the men as they ran, watching how they seemed to have perfect communication. When the two of them seperated, Kya's eyes were drawn up in the air to the screens, where she could see from the perspective of the Lions. It was odd, walking through the warzone with all of her senses screaming at her to watch her a**, but knowing full well consciously that she was in no danger. This was the power of genjutsu, to bend the senses and create new realities or recreate old ones.
Kya watched, in real time and then on the screens, as the soldiers were seemingly shrugging things off? A blue and green sheen seemed to fade from them, which caught her keen eye but to her it was little more than the obvious: some kind of shield. Kya held her question for the moment, instead watching as her younger leader attempted a set of handseals for something. She got closer, recognizing seals for sure but not the technique. The men seemed to immediately lose their "sheen" again, but there was no explosive attack, or anything she could see. Guess number one was some kind of fast acting wind attack, and guess number two was genjutsu. As they didn't take the bait, Kya spoke again. "So wait, what is that aura? Do they have some kind of technique that protects them from jutsu? Is it something that has to be activated timely?" In addition to that, she also noticed that they all seemed to have some extremely high levels of teamwork. Throwing their weapons in synchronous. Were these highly trained members of the UHV? Hopefully so, because if these were their run of the mills, that'd spell difficulty.

Naomi for her part seemed unusually quiet and reserved even for her. Perhaps her mind was elsewhere? Either way she didn't even acknowledge Sal's glare in her direction or attempt to approach any of her classmates. Instead she just seemed to be intently watching the events which were unfolding and listening to the questions of her classmates. The technology that their enemy possessed was certainly daunting, of that she was quite certain. But they weren't unstoppable and if anything Taka being alive proved that. So ultimately what this exercise came down to was studying, forming an idea, and then before shipping out for a mission learning as much as she could to bridge the gap between these tech wielding goons and her own ability. When Taka was finally done with her it'd be time for training, well maybe not right after but it would happen at some point before any kind of assignment.

"Aweeee!" Sumika protested, barely containing a full on tantrum as it was revealed she would not be able to play with the cool toys. Though there were some key things she could learn just from standing here. "A volley of normal kunai I could deal with pretty easy," she spoke up, unconcerned with the others' silly social whimsy while in her element as she moved from her spot much closer to one of the enemy soldiers. Staring intently at the weapon but finding the details lacking in pinpoint precision, likely a result of this being a memory and memories sucked a giant... well, no, she wasn't quite old enough to make that particular commentary. "Err, these don't look like normal Kunai though, and I'm guessing the weapons are made out of that chakra-y metal." She said, clearly picking up on the general workings though lacking the larger vocabulary necessary to express it eloquently at the moment. "If you get me close, I can maybe take the metal from those lens things, break them. And maybe their armor after it does the woosh thing, but I don't think I can overpower the rest and I'm not fast like the others. Like the only thing I can guarantee is I can mess up a belt if they're wearing one, probably, so like maybe they won't have pants or something dumb." Her brain was firing off like a string of firecrackers, but one thought drifted towards the top of the racing swarm like cream. The idea of going into a real fight with these jerkwads absent more than a training puppet suddenly seemed way more stupid to the girl, especially if they weren't getting out right destroyed by the Hokage and a TEAM OF FREAKING LIONS. "How the hell am I supposed to fight without an actual puppet?" The Jiton specialist's words were a muffled mumble, but her inability to internalize her thoughts was obvious, both in her analysis and slip of the tongue.

What on earth was going on? Was this being written by M. Night Shyamalan? There is a chicken, now someone was on Oga's back, dragons and now a forest fire! But it seemed everything was a dream. It might not look like it but deep inside Oga knew this was all a genjutsu but he really needed to know the secret of the chicken, on his back now was Sal one of his classmates and one of the few he ever communicated with, the Genin was giving him directions like he was some sort of master teaching a student. Following his "masters" words Oga kept chasing the chicken but still slightly keeping track of what was going on out there. The UHV guys had some sort of technology that made their kunais special, it seemed to give them elemental capabilities, he was very aware of the situation that was happening around them. "Keep an eye on the chicken and I'll keep an eye on the field" Oga would tell the Navi on his back, if they were to do this as a duo they might as well work as one until the secret was revealed to them. Would they ever find the chicken outside the genjutsu, would they be able to capture it? How would Oga cook it? Those were all questions that the Gening wished to asnwer himself. a
