my family has a cused month. all of our pet died in may. and they all died in a bad way. my first pet was a bird and my sister accidentlly killed it in may. i was helping with the yard sale and she was playing peak a boo and shut the door on his head. my moms dog drowned in our pool because she was blind and could not see. and it was the friday right before mothers day. my moms cat was killed by a car. and it was the day she decided we were going to move. then she got hit. i could not look at her. when i moved our dog ran away for a night and it was in may. but luckly someone took care of her. she had gone to the park and then was coming home when a lady saw her. and the next morning i called her and i heard her bark. then just this past may i was house sitting/dog sitting and i was watching tv when i saw a mouse. i have bad luck with pets in may. i wont let any of our dogs outside unless they have a leash on in the month of may. i am very protective over the pets in may. the only pet that has not died in the month of may was my sisters bunny who died of old age.

i've had two cats that needed to be put down, unfortunately medical reasons. A dog that my family put down, because she was old and we didn't know how much longer we would have her( and this was near christmas, maybe three days before). And my guinea pig died while i visited my grandma over new year's weekend, we came back and found him dead. plus some fish, but all fish don't live long.

My cat CD died in late June this year. It was something horrible because she was in a coma and couldn't really move. She purred for me though before she went comatose which makes me glad to know that she knew I was there.

My dog Mia died about 2 weeks later. She was living with my parents so I didn't get to see her pass. But the last time I saw her I had a feeling it would be the last.

Now CD, Mia, and Jasmine (my kitty who died 3 years ago and CD's sister) I'm sure are having a wonderful time in heaven.

I've lost 3 dogs......1 cat.....and a hamster throughout my lifetime. All from natural causes, either cancer, old age, or illness in general. My one dog that died of cancer my mom and I put down as soon as we found out, just because she had already begun to suffer, and chemo would only give her a year IF it worked at all. I stayed with her during the time she passed away, and of course at the time it was hard, but I feel comforted knowing she isn't suffering, and that I was the last thing she saw. Even her tail was wagging at the end, so I knew her heart lives on, she always knows how to make anyone smile. smile -In loving memory of JC, my little sister who got hairier over the years (1999-2007)- heart

My dog Duke died two nights ago. I really miss him, but my friends have been so wonderful to me, and I feel so lucky to have them. They have really helped me cope w/ Duke's death, and I love them all so much! (I know that was a bit off topic, but I'm so greatful to all of them)!!

My dog Sparky died about a year and a half ago. We had to put her to sleep because she was in so much pain. She was 18 years old. As old as I was at the time...

My baby, Mindy, died May 2007 of cancer when she was only nine years old. I'd known her since I was five years old. She was the best dog I could've ever had. She was peacefully put to sleep after the cancer spread to her lungs which gave her difficulty breathing. My mom and I took her to the vet that Wednesday "for a check-up", but we knew she wasn't coming back. The ride there she was excited and smiling. The vet told us the worst - her time was up and it would be best to put her to sleep. She was put to sleep right then and I feel like, despite all the tears, I never had enough time to say good-bye. I sobbed into her for one last time and told her "Goodbye, it'll be alright now. You're going to a better place." I watched her die and sat there on the floor beside her crying before we left. I never wanted to leave her side, and as we walked out the door I knew I would never see her again. I'm crying now as I type this and I still miss her so much even though she's been gone more than a year.

My guinea pig died February 2004. He was the first pet (other than fish) that I ever had die and I was absolutely devastated. I have seldom cried harder.

I also had two gerbils, Tom and Jerry. Jerry died very suddenly one day towards the end of 2006 (presumably from old age, he was 4). It was so unexpected that I was heartbroken. His brother Tom suddenly became very ill for unknown reasons only a few months later and I hated to see him like that; he died that night.

I've always had pets. My border collie mix, Missy, died when I was young. Lived to be 17 years! I've had a Black GSD, Chilly, who died when he attacked a moving truck. A Springer spaniel, Brandy, who died in a dog fight. A cat, Frank, who died in the same dog fight... Princess, a Chow/Malamute mix who was put down for attacking a man trying to break into our house... she failed an aggression test and bit the person administering the test as well. Duuma, a Tosa-ken who died recently of old age. My rabbit, George, who died recently of old age.

It's always sad, when they go but... death is always the end of life, after all, so it's really hard for me to linger and continue to feel badly :<

Currently, I have a 13 year old lab and a 16 year old staffie... both are doing "alright" for their age smile
