I hate when they tend to really lack plot. I'm less of a Friday the 13th fan as I am a Shaymalan film (well minus The Happening which was more funny than chilling) or Cloverfield-esq movie fan.

Horror movies now are disgusting, not scary.. Chainsaws, torture, mindgames are what they use now.The repeat alot of the same series-Halloween how many times can Jason really live?

I hate how they over-sexualize women. For example the 30 minute porno at the beginning of Hostel and more recently the brutal rape of a 'psycho' patient in the new remake of Halloween. The infamous 'vine scene' in evil dead. What's the point? Horror movies are all about sex, violence and rock n' roll (at least the old school ones are). That's just my take on horror movies. I just don't get it. Someone once told me that horror movies are about the darkest part of humanity and rape is just one of those horrible things we do to one another but I say it can be done tastefully. Halloween was just...ridiculous (though the rest of the film was interesting :3).

Rape shouldn't be in a movie unless it's actually necessary for the narrative, and just as sex scenes are often superfluous, unless it's needed, it probably shouldn't be straight out shown. For example, Baise-Moi has a rape scene, but although it is shoot entirely without respite and is disturbing as all Hell, I can forgive it because there is an artistic motive, not just an exploitative one.

I know right? I hate how the new trend is that either she's taken away or she's the actual thing that's supposed to scare you! Like in Silent Hill! What is so scary about a girl in a private school uniform?

I hate peoples' lack of intelligence in many horror films. Not many people seem to have the brain compacity, or survival instincts they need. One prime example of this being many of the people in the movie Quarantine. I mean there's one part in which that little girl (the only one trapped in the building, can't remember her name... xp ) takes a bite out of her mother's neck, and yet the people chase her down to get three inches from her face and ask her if shes alright, only to suffer the same fate as her mother. neutral STUPID! After seeing an old lady, among others, become a mutant zombie-like thing and eat people, I would definatly stop trying to help them. Lol

I don't like nudity and sex in horror movies,I watch horror movies for blood, gore, and thrills.

I really hate the cliche in every horror movie of a girl running from the killer or monster in high heel shoes, falling, laying there screaming, waiting to be killed. *lame*

Another thing I really can't stand is when they make a movie using cam-coders to get that shakey look to the movie. For example : Blair Witch, and Cloverfield.
I find it to be distractive and annoying.

I don't mind the hand-held look, what annoyed me about Cloverfield was the fact everyone was so pretty and urbane, it made it hard for me to care about their impending deaths.

I don't like 'cheap scares' where there is purposly no music in the background and something jumps out. It makes it seem like the movie isn't scary enough to scare you any other way.

ZOMBIES!!! I'm tired of people going on about how great zombie movies are. They were great until everybody and their mom had to make a zombie flick. Don't get me wrong a mindless killing machine whose incredibly hard to kill is pretty scary. Cloverfield was like watching Blair witch project, I walked out of the theater with motion sickness. Freddy Krueger use to scare the crap outta me when I was little.

I Personally don't think Horror Movies can be counted in that Genre anymore. If you ask me(which you technically did), most horror movies nowadays and thrillers. They aren't scary, they just startle most viewers. IF you ask me, I prefer the older true horror movies like the Shining that had blood and guts, sure, but it wasn't only about blood and guts and people jumping out of nowhere. They were actually GOOD movies.

Well most horror movies today are based off of gore and shock value. Old horror movies were more pyshoclogical and didn't need huge amounts of blood and guts.
