Memories Lost

Gaian officer: "Well, that's good. Look, we need to take a look inside ma'am. We gotta make sure nothing slipped in there..."

Damn it's friggin cold out here, and I gotta work with these shadow-skins. Probably their damn fault somehow that this happened...

*GL stepped into the main room, gripping his scythe tightly at that moment. He still looked.... bothered. He watched Rosemary and the officers talking through the closed doors, and decided to speak up.*

GL: "You can let them in Rosemary without putting us in danger... I saw my dad when I went to get my scythe... He said that the officers should have been here by now..."

*He didn't say anything else, simply sat in a chair, staring at the fire.*

GL: "Yeah... I will from now on."

*Rosemary could so easily tell by his voice that he was distracted... it was so... dead sounding. Completely out of place with his usual lively manner. Periodically, he discreetly glanced at Black, with a heavy expression that could only be described as guilt.*

*The officer drew his side arm, while several soldiers rushed up stairs*

Soldier: "We'll check it out, you guard these people..."

*Seconds after Sephiroth had fallen out of his bed, his door was unlocked and forced open, several guns scanning the room and immediately aimed at him.*

Soldier: "False alarm. Check the rest of this floor. Sir, are you alright? Sorry for the intrusion, we couldn't be too careful..."

*Galantros seem to jump just a little at Rosemary's telepathic message, but she could quickly sense him putting up barriers in his mind, with the thought of I'll tell you a little later.... She didn't have time to argue the point, since that's when Black started to act oddly.*

GL: "Black, are you alright?"

*He quickly got out of his seat and made his way towards the kitsune*

Soldier: "Alright, one of you escort him downstairs with the others."

Soldier 2: "They're reporting all clear outside... Performing a third sweep just to be sure, though." *His attention turns toward Sephiroth* "Sir, we'll need you to wait downstairs with everyone else. There was a demon loose recently, and we need to make sure this place is clean."

*One of the soldiers stayed in Sephiroth's room after it was checked, waiting until he got whatever he needed. Whatever items they had to check, they made sure to treat carefully and place them back where they had found them.*

*A bit more at ease when he realized Black was simply sleeping, he carefully placed her on the couch, removing the thick, dark blue outer vest he wore to place around her like a blanket. Rosemary then felt those weak mind barriers come down as he sat back down in a chair.*

GL: "He... talked to me... in my head. It was only a few words, but... I guess it was enough to upset me..."

*He glanced over at the fire for a moment, not looking Rosemary in the face as he finished what he was saying*

GL: "He asked... how my mother was doing. And suggested that I'd be more than willing to... abandon everyone like last time just to see her again..."

*The soldier shook his head*

Soldier: "Some new variety, possibly. Had long limbs, resembled a black and yellow stripped arachnid of some sort. Was fairly large, large enough to knock over trees when it ran..."

GL:..." I think, no matter what I do, a small part of me is always going to feel guilty about that time..." *He glanced over at Black who was sleeping calmly now* "I guess I think of her as the younger sibling I never had..."

*He stretched a bit in his seat, returning his gaze to the fireplace.*

GL: "Part me of just thinks that no matter what, we won't be safe anywhere if something happens... Even at my cousin's" *He shuddered a bit as a memory passed through his mind... his cousin nearly killed himself trying to save GL's life, back before Hi became the new satan...*

Soldier: "Well, we soldiers have a little procedure called S.C.T... 'Sedate, Communicate, Terminate...' We try to calm it down if possible through tranqs, reasoning, or whatever... then we attempt to communicate. Failing all of that, and it proves to be too much of a threat... Well, we just try to bring the scientist as much of the body intact as possible. Or the largest chunks."
