I thought Twilight was okay. I didn't love the series, nor did I hate it (I take that back, I hated the last book). The writing was amateur-ish and the characters were seriously lacking.
I did however like her werewolves. I thought her werewolves were 100x better than her vampires.
The sparkling vampire thing was a bit.. different. I'm not sure whether to like it because it's different from what usually happens to vampires in the sun, or to hate it exactly for that reason.
Overall, not impressed.

I am your Mord Sith Last time I checked, vampires burst into flame when exposed to sunlight. Also, they are supposed to be heartless killers that are not capable of love. or in the case of Dracula, lost his powers during the day wink I read the plot on wiki (cos my friends don't have the most reliable sense of what I like : ) If I don't like the sound of the summary at all, chances are I won't like the real thing. Also teen romance isn't really my thing. there's my two cents

xBlaze All Dayx <3 Still, they are supposed to be these blood thirsty, vicious killers. Not some sparkling p***y that falls in love with their food.

[sarcasm] I just love how the vampires don't have fangs [/sarcasm]
I may like the books, but they still piss me off at times too. -For one, how can vampires NOT have fangs? Seriously? -For two, Seriously? Imprinting? That sounds like forced marriage. Simply idiotic. -For three, Bella is a Mary-Sue..And Edward is a *****. [sarcasm]Perfect match in heaven folks! [/sarcasm]
I have more..but I really ain't gonna explain it.

Twilight is an utter piece of crap, and I shall never understand how anyone older than 12 could like it. I read it when I was in 6th grade, back when I was a mindless ******** who didn't know anything about writing or the differance between a good book and a retarded piece of s**t. And even THEN I didn't like Twilight that much. But then the craze started. I only talk to two Twihards, and they're two of my best friends. But that doesn't mean I don't constantly make fun of Twilight around them. I stay away from Twilight fans as much as I can, because I know that they're very violent when it comes to their fandom. And I constantly bash Twilight. I don't get why it's so popular. It's garbage. Robert Pattinson, while I adore his role as Cedric Diggory, isn't HOT. He's awkward and looks like a druggie. Edward is a Mary-Sue, and I will never know HOW a book with a Mary-Sue as a main character got published. Bella is the exact opposite. There is NOTHING good about it. She has no social skills, she's not pretty, she's boring, she lacks a personality, she's awkward, and quite clueless. Both of them are flat, one-dimensonal characters who don't change at all through the course of the series. And Jacob, while better than Bella and Edward, is a *****. I love how that's perfectly accepted by these fangirls. Bella's friends lack personalities too, and are all the same. I honestly don't even know their names. The only decent character is Alice. Had Stephen Meyer wrote a story about her and Jasper, I think it would have less haters. Really, there is nothing good about Twilight. It has no plot, the characters suck, the actors are horrible and aren't even attractive, it's poorly written, it's cheesy, and the romance is just some teenage fantasy that needs to be killed NOW because no man is actually like Edward.

My thoughts exactly. It seemed alice was the only character with some sort of depth. When I read it in sixth grade, a friend asked me about what the character of edward is like. I couldn't think a single personality trait. The werewolves were pretty good until they started imprinting on small children.

I apologize ahead of time if I get a little too serious- I've almost earned my degree in literature and I just LOVE to talk about books.
The problems I have with Twilight are basically this: -It promotes unrealistic and horribly stereotyped expectations and standards. Men have to be beautiful or they're creepy nerds, and the women have to give into the every whim of those beautiful men and be good domestics.
-Edward is an abusive stalker, end of story. He unknowingly sneaks into a girl's room to watch her while she sleeps. This is apparently excusable because he's attractive? That's the reason Bella gives. And when he rips parts out of her car so she can't see her friend? I don't care if he loves her and Jacob is a werewolf. Had Jacob ever hurt her before (minus the kiss which may have happened before this point, can't remeber)? No. Edward is plain jealous and he uses his strength against her to force her to comply to ease his ego. Abuse.
-It's poorly written. I found sentences that couldn't keep a tense or were otherwise incorrect. No one's perfect, but it wasn't hard or rare to find a mistake. Not only that, I found it to be Stephenie Meyers' personal fantasy about a boy who sparkles and thinks she poops rainbows than a book. She wanted to make a buck on her wet dreams so she called him a vampire to be edgy.
-Bella is a brainless, characterless mary-sue. Anyone who doesn't like Bella is dismissed by everyone as just being a meanie because Bella is one special snowflake. When she's turned into a vampire she miraculously has the power to control any and all vampire urges even better than Carlisle who has been around since the middle ages.
I could go on forever- Twilight is a big topic in my seminar courses lately because it is so popular. I don't judge the fans, to each their own and I'm glad you found a book you like in a time when not a lot of people read, but after forcing myself through all of the books it's my opinion that it's just not any good.

RosesFallingLikeRain I think it's taking over the world. Those 'vampires' don't drink blood, they drink brains. I used to like it, but when the movies started coming out so close to my birthday, I got mad. I went to see the first movie for my birthday, I hated it. This year my friend had the "Testicular Fortitude" to ask if she could come with me to see the second on my birthday, when I never said anything about going, and she had made the assumption that I was going to see it because I was going into the city on my birthday(the day it came out). And that everyone ignores my birthday completely when that s**t gets brought into conversation. I hate, hate, hate it now. I agree, The twilight movie was pretty bad... but new moon was so much better!!! You really should see it!!!

I also have a lot to say on the subject.
First of all, what vampires sparkle? I mean, c'mon. Second, she made the vampires so perfect. They smell good they look good they can be unnatrually still, perfect memory, speed strengt, immortality, extra powers..I could go on forever. The only bad thing is that they drink blood, and it's hard to resist. Oh no! Notice the sarcasm. I actually do like some of the charachters. Alice, Jasper, Emmett, and Jacob. The funny ones. Well, Jacob before he becomes a werewolf. Then it's just stupid. And I also don't get. What's so special about Bella that makes all the boys wnat to go out with her? She's dead clumsy, not pretty, not really smart, boring in all types, unsocial. Nothing. And Stephanie Meyer makes the boys obsessed with her. rolleyes I actually used to love the book. After reading it once or twice. Then, she movie came out, and I hate it. -.-
