{Welcome to the Flock's herd thread! 8D Please post ICly, not OOCly. There is no "set" posting order; if you feel like you need to reply to something, go ahead.

The only rule is that you must wait for 2 people to post after your post to tag again. If less than 2 people posts and you've been waiting for a week, you can post again. You cannot, however, reply yourself - aka, you cannot post directly after yourself!

Every month, I will import the RP here into the RP forum so you get stats for it; a thread for non-plot Flock interactions done in this thread will be made and "bumped" at the end of every month by adding that month's RP into the thread.

Members who post less than 2 times in a month will not get mentioned in the front post to get the stats; if I see you spamming posts unnecessarily, I won't jot down your name either. This is to keep the RP balanced and not one-sided.

Every 2 to 3 months, every member who posts over 2 times in all the months (aka get mentioned for stats all 2 to 3 months) will be entered into a raffle to win 10k (might be more depending); you can do anything you want with it. You can choose to forfeit the prize, give it to someone else or even donate it to the Soquili Quester's Charity! (:

Thanks!

FEMALE OWNERS
Flock Herd Thread RP will always take place in the NESTING AREA or SAFE ZONE (if with males), unless the venue changes ICly. It is a wide forest with a path leading to the mountains where the Queen and Commanders have their nests.

MALE OWNERS:
Unless you had spoken with your Soq's female captor's owner beforehand and agreed that the Harpy is showing off the male, your interactions will always be in the SAFE ZONE!}

Oh! How proud she is of her beloved Flock! Aviania smiled to herself, gleeing as she scanned the sight in front of her, pride swelling in her chest; nests had been largely rebuilt, areas had been cleared out to act as food storages that can store enough food to last them through winter, guards had marked their herd borders with scratches to the various trees to keep others out and the Flock's growing collection of quality males stay silent and obedient in their "safe zone"... It was a good start for their new, hopefully permanent home. Her sisters had gone through too much in the last few months to go through another move - they might be strong, but even the strongest have their limits.

Leaping down from her nest built delicately on the face of a cliff, Aviania moved down an unmarked path from the mountains to the forest below. As if not wanting to be noticed, she walked past rolls of trees silently, occasionally greeting a sister with a brief nod of her head and a small smile. Once in a while, she would gaze up at the canopy to view the different nests; some already have trinkets hanging off them - feathers, beads, twigs, leaves and even the occasional skull! It was like being back in her mountain home, except these nests sit on trees and not on a cliff.

It might be time for her to return to Aylin, and see what the Flock's Oracle and her old time friend have to report.

Glain of course had her claws full with her share of the hatchlings. At this age the males and females saw themselves as equals. Only children, and children did not discriminate with their games. Glain tipped her head to the side and thought that, perhaps, this was the reason she so valued monogamy and her mate. After all, children had much to teach, all one had to do was listen to them. A bump at her feet broke her from her musings. Two hatchlings tangled and snapped at her feet as she watched with a smile. "Peace, little ones," she cooed as she broke the two apart. The snapped at each other again before they went their separate ways.

A twig snapping under foot made her head jerk up and her nerves go on high alert. The queen moved into view and Glain settled herself back down into her nest, her own decorated with the feathers of the many beautiful birds in the area. "Good morning your Majesty," he said in her gentle voice, head bowing in a demure greeting. "It's a pleasure to see you up and about."

{Its been a week. <3}

A voice from one of the nests made her look up, and she smiled at her sister, "Good morning, Glain... It is a nice day for a walk." She then paused, looking to the Harpy's left and right before continuing, "How are you and your... Shuckles?" She sounded hesitant as she said that, not being used to seeing her sisters being lifemated to a single stallion. While she didn't exactly approve of their lifemating when she first heard of it, she does respect the nanny's decision to accept monogamy instead of polygamy. Perhaps that's why her tone of voice didn't carry any signs of contempt.

She smiled a little at the youngsters around Glain before chuckling, "I see you got your talons full..."

Zahraa' was taking the high road. Weaving around branches and slipping through gaps with a liquid grace matched only by the birds of prey and big cats her breed mimicked so closely. She was scouting, sort of. Investigating the canopy of thick foliage that shielded their new home from the sky. She didn't expect to find anything amiss, but she liked to know her surroundings.

A glance down showed hints of honey and sky blue, camouflaged by the dense spread of leaves. Her loyal pet, her song bird. A bright grin flashed brightly in the broken light that seeped through the canopy. She'd told him to follow, but hadn't been sure he'd be able to keep track of her as she moved about in the trees. "Very good my sweet," she called down to him, voice bubbling with laughter.

They were getting close to the rocky cliffs, the trees were farther between now, and she'd need to come down. Dark claws dug into the flesh of the tree as she leaned forward, searching the next trunk over for transcending branches. Bounding down from thick limb to thick limb, and where no branch grew she grabbed the tree itself to spring from. Until taloned feet met the ground a little before her pet. They were just past the nesting ground, she could see Glain and the queen.

Cabriole moved in a half gallop to keep up with his keeper, still amazed after their long trip at how swiftly and easily they could move though the large oaks, maples, and even occasional redwood, the casual and easy bounding and prowling from branch to branch causing him to have to weave past trunks and brushes and trot on and off to keep up even when she wasn't even trying to speed up.

As such, he was glad she came down from the tree's, rather constantly losing track of her when picking himself over a few rocky obstacles. At least, until they got into the narrow crevasses and outcroppings, she'd be on the ground and moving at a more natural speed for her output.

The rustling of leaves caused the Queen's attention to shift from Glain, turning to look sharply to her side. At the sight of a familiar lighted colored Harpy, she relaxed a little but couldn't help giving a small smile as greeting, "Good morning Zahraa'... Cabriole." She eyed the male for a short moment, her unblinking golden eyes seemingly piercing through his body to peer at his soul. He had been surprisingly obedient - personally, while she valued intelligence, she could never bring herself to fully trust males who are too smart for their own good... She had always preferred those with more brawn than brain - they're much more amusing!

"The nest rebuilding is proceeding well," She continued, turning to her Commander as she nodded, obviously pleased at the news, "And I believe that the guards had already begun patrolling and marking The Flock's territory to prevent any... Unwanted visitors."

The pale commander jogged forward at the voice of the queen bidding her good morning, pale features lighting up as they always did when she had the queen's attention and favor. An upward twitch of her tail sent feathers along Cabriole's chin as she moved past him. She was always touching him in passing, a brush, a nudge. Reaffirming her claim, and quite frankly, she'd grown rather attached to him. She didn't bother to look back at him because she knew without doubt that he would follow. She could hear the music of bells that accompanied his every movement.

"Good morning to you, my queen." A dip of her chin showed her respect, but her true greeting came from a nuzzle to the chocolate harpy's neck. There were few she respected as equals, fewer still she felt so close to. "And to you as well, Sister Glain." She flashed a nanny a quick smile before the twitch of pale ears brought her attention back to Aviania.

"Yes, things are progressing better then expected." A twitch of pale lips followed her comment on unwanted visitors. She knew of whom the queen spoke.

Freezing under the queen's sharp look, head lowering slightly and ears drooping submissively as he clicked his teeth together with a drawn down frown, much like a child showing submission to their elder before he moved his gaze away, head low. Aviania, even after showing that she was not overly cruel, still frightened the stallion greatly.

Knowing that he was more likely to keep his hide if he behaved and kept out of site, he transferred himself into the stone and stick boarder of the males 'safe zone', looking for Garuda and pressing his rump against the broad side of the large oaks, sitting down as he backed up slightly so most of his back was against it. While he knew he was safe there, it was better safe then sorry.

Benn'joon swam through the river that flowed through the Flock's territory. The mare's fan was the only thing that remained visible as she made her way towards her sisters, She would need to tell the queen about her new pet. With a bubbly sigh, she clambered on to shore, shook herself free of the excess water. "Good morning sisterssssssss."

Anya could hear the sound of her sisters speaking down below, even before she opened her eyes and was completely awake. The morning light was very bright, though, and despite how much she would have liked to go back to sleep, she knew she couldn't.

And besides. She had a job to do, after all, she should not have slept so late. Mentally reprimanding herself (though knowing her Queen, whose voice she could pick out a mile away, was below and might also do it for her), Anya stood from her nest and stretched, her tailfeathers straightening as she straightened her legs out beneath her.

After a brief, absent glance beneath her to make sure that she wouldn't land on anyone, Anyay propelled herself from her nest and glided down to be with her sisters and her Queen.

"Good morning," She greeted during a brief pause. She dipped her head to the Queen, then smiled at Benn'joon at Zahraa'. She faltered for only a moment when her eyes landed on Glain, one of her fellow Nannies--but a Nannie who had chosen to take just one mate. Under normal circumstances, she would have simply ignored any sister who tried that, but...well, she rather liked Glain, and her Queen seemed to approve.

"And Glain," Anya added after a pause, pulling a soft smile back to her lips. She was about to say more, but she noticed out of the corner of her eye that the children were squabbling again, and that was not to be tolerated.

"Excuse me," she murmured, then quickly extricated herself from the group and sorted the children out--but remained near them, content to just listen to the other mares for now. She had nothing of great importance to add.

((Just so you guys know: even though the cert doesn't say so, Pollack let me co-own Anya~))

"Although once I depart for Aylin's temple, the duty of making sure our security remains tight will fall on you and Celaeno," Her tone showed that the matter was one to be taken seriously; after the moves they had to go through to get here, they can't afford to lose anymore members. She relaxed a little at her trusted Commander's touch, however, and returned the nuzzle with one of her own, giving the pale Harpy a gentle nuzzle on her cheek, "I trust that the two of you will do a good job."

She couldn't help but smile a little when Cabriole retreated; maybe being smart is a good thing as well... There are things she and her sisters have to talk about, after all, and a male should not have the privilege of listening in.

"Ah, Benn'joon... Morning." The brown Harpy nodded at the Kelpi in greeting; she was a new sister; a strong female with a Harpy mindset that is worthy of being a part of the Flock. Her racial traits might also come in handy one day, should the thing she dread really happen... Still, she had been observing their new sister, making sure she contributes to the Flock.

She turned her head at the sound of the arrival of yet another sister; there was a look of slight disapproval on the Queen's face when she realized that Anya had just woken up - being a nanny means that she should be up before the children, after all! However, Aviania could tell that the nanny had been working hard. Caring for the Flock's young is no easy job, after all, and she had been doing a good job thus far... She nodded in greeting, a small smile on her lips, "Good morning, darling."

She then looked on as Anya went to where the children were, staring for a few seconds before turning her attention back to the rest of her sisters, "Do go about your daily chores if there is nothing else - if there is something to report, however, do not hesitate to speak."

"Do not fear, my Queen. Our home will be untouched in your absence. Celaeno and I will see to it." The press of her shoulder against the chocolate harpie's side did little to instill confidence, but her tone left no room for doubt. The commanders were proud, protective. They would keep their newest home safe.

A flick of pale eyes followed the retreating tail of her pet to the safe zone, features considering. She hadn't even needed to prompt him. Sharp pf mind, submissive, and learned quickly. She couldn't help but puff her chest a little in pride. Her precious toy had no wings, no horns or powers, but he was envied all the same. He was a fine catch, and the snowy mare was obscenely possessive of him.

The sounds of others drawing near pulled her attention, and she offered a nod in greeting to the Kelpi. She wasn't sure of her just yet, but she was keeping her opinions more quiet this time around. Another fight with a none clawed sister would not be welcome.

To Anya she offered a half smile. True, she'd woken up late, but Zahraa' too knew how much work the foals could be. "Show the little ones who is boss, Anya." Respect had to be taught early, not just to the little males, but the dainty females as well. Respect of their elders, the equals, their flock.
