The Park ♥

Unlike the other books in her bag, this one was blank, no words, no lines, no pictures. Nothing. The cover was warped and scratched, and it was held together with immitation old fashioned binding. Digging around in the front pocket of her bag, trying not to fall out of the tree, Harely looks for and finds a mechanical pencil. A balancing act begins as she starts to sketch the sunrise over the park.

She can see most things from her vantage point, and her clever fingers manage to put vauge shadows of them on the paper. The stream, the playground, the park benches, and the gates out of the park over towards her home - or rather, her place of residence, as it didn't feel like a home nowdays, with her parents gone, and her overbearing oldersister in control. NO! She screams internally Don't think. Just sketch. Don't think. Trying to devote herself to the almost mindless task of sketching an impression soon becomes a battle, as memeories come flooding back, drifing in and out of her mind and leaving visable reminants on her cheeks. Giving up with an sigh, she returns the sketch book back to her bag and surveys the lands scape around her with a critical eye. Ignoring the soundless tears that fall without restraint down her face. The crows in the opposite tree begin to caw noisely, and she can't help but yell wordlessly back at them. A not so subtle way of venting her annoyance at the fragility of life.

She is startled from her childishness as she hears somebody splashing up the creek from the direction of the forest. Manovering herself in the forked branches of the oak, she turns an peers down to ground level and along the curves of the creek. All she manages to make out from the gloom is a weirdly fimiliar pair of battered tennis shoes. Without stopping to think Harley yells out to the musical girl from the night before "HEY! Hows it going down there?"

Elle stopped dead in her tracks and clenched her fists, slowly looking up. She had been ambushed from the trees before, by a group of local rebel rich kids, and she was not about to be mugged again. Sitting on a branch was the girl from last night. Elle froze, her brain suddenly stopping in mid-thought. Primal instincts kicked in, and she bolted. She sprinted away from the creek and headed for the steep ravine.

"H-hey!" She yells after the girl. "A simple hello couldn't hurt...." There was something decidedly odd about that girl - something animal like. Sitting in the tree, Harley couldn't get down in time to chase after her, so instead she followed the other girls flight with her eyes. After she had dissapared into the ravine Harley carefully lowered herself down from oak and went to sit on a park bench. This time rattling around in her bag for some food, finding a bread roll, and stuffing her face. Selecting a book from her pile she begins to read, still extreemly puzzled by the other girls reaction to her friendly, if not, unorthadox, greeting.

Elle scrambled up the slope, dirt staining her clothes as she pulled herself up by tree roots and rocks. She fell back a few feet every now and then, but made it to the top and broke into a sprint. She charged through the playground and skidded to a stop by a large rock. She sat and caught her breath. Son of a b***h, she thought, Was that... was that the same... ah crap! What if she follows me home? I can't put the Family in that danger. We'd never find another place to live. Her head was spinning like crazy.

Flicking rapidly throught the book, she reads at a blistering pace. Harley just loved how you could loose yourself in the magical simplicity of another world. Or she did, when she could focus on reading - the reaction of the girl with tattered sneakers and the lyrical voice puzzled and annoyed her, so much so she couldn't focus on the words on the page. Sitting on the park bench she begins to wonder if she had done something outside of normal social edicate by calling out at the other girl from the tree.

Elle took a deep breath and stood up straight. Ok, you've got to be overreacting. She's not gonna jeopardize our life. She can't be any older than me, and I certainly couldn't do any damage at my age, could I? She finally decided to take a walk down to the creek, through an alternate route of course, and sort things out over a crisp dip in the water. As she paced her way down a pavement path, no shortcut through the woods this time, she ducked behind a tree when she saw another girl walking along the opposite side of the creek. She took a deep breath and played it cool as she hiked along the water.

Jaime smiled as she walked down the walking path ''Its beutiful here'' Jaime thought. The flowers were in bloom and the trees were green and beutiful as ever of course there are some trees that changed colors. Humming to herself Jaime continued walking her feet and the chirping of birds and the wind are the only noise she could hear. Jaime stopped and sniffed a flower ''how lovely'' she thought. Withought another thought she started to twist a strand of her short purple hair.

Izzy sat underneath the giant tree enjoying the wonderful breeze and the aroma of flowers that followed. Her shoes were off so that her feet could feel the grass without distraction and she knew for a fact that if she laid on the grass this way any longer, a bug would start to crawl into her short dark brown hair. But at the moment she didn't care; instead she closed her eyes and hummed the tune of the song playing softly from her CD player enjoying the fruits of spring.

Jaime smiled as she walked passing a huge tree almost missing the girl that was under the tree. Jaime stopped and paused seeing a girl under the tree relaxing. Jaime started to say hello but hesitated "what if she doesn't want 2 talk she looks so relaxed" Jaime decided not to bother her and continued walking
