I direct you to the Code of the Sith "Peace is a lie, there is only passion. Through passion, I gain strength. Through strength, I gain power. Through power, I gain victory. Through victory, my chains are broken. The Force shall free me." The Sith promote freedom through the power of The Force, while the Jedi preach restraint, which is simply not in our nature. Therefor, the Jedi are trying to force their members to submit to their beliefs (a Jedi cannot love, a Jedi must not feel anger, etc.) that go against what we are genetically programmed to do, which to me is more evil than a side that allows you to take advantage of the power you have.
