The Rotary Rocket Zelkiiro whaaaaaaaaaaaaat Everyone knows (and loves) Chrono Trigger. It's always on everyone's Top 10 SNES games and the PS1 and DS ports sold like hotcakes. Whatchu talkin' 'bout, Willis? All of the above. My immediate reaction without exaggeration was "You trollin'!" @Mario: While we're on the topic of adventure games, it's not too particularly obscure, but Grim Fandango makes my heart overflow with love, and if you're a fan of unique art direction/have a soul, play it. Addition to the list: Mischief Makers on the N64.

S.O.S. for super nintendo. There were actually two snes titles with this name I believe, the one I'm refering to was a game based on a ship not unlike the titanic, which is capsized in a major storm. You'd choose one of four characters, and your goal was to get up to the "bottom" of the ship so you could escape before it sinks. Along the way you try to save other passengers who have survived.
It was a really cool game because each character would start at a different point in the ship, and interact differently with the survivors. You also got different endings depending on which character you were and which passengers you saved. I remember one guy you save actually ends up shooting your character in the end if you saved him.

Yeah, I have been meaning to play that game. When it first came out...I think I was in between moving from my duty station in New Mexico to England. -- So, ended up forgetting about it. Then later on, 3D gaming was so ridiculously huge around 99-2000 time frame I was blowing so much money on high end Intel/SLI 3dfx/RAID 0 Array setups for me and buidling gaming rigs for friends ..that once again...got sidetracked. By the time I got around to thinking about playing it, it was vaporware. Although, I wonder how it will work on today's hardware. Games like System Shock 2 run absolutely horrid on multi-core setups to the point that you have to kill off through processor affinity to single core to get it to load up. And... Flashback for Sega Genesis Star Trek: Birth of the Federation for PC Night Trap for Sega CD (this game is what got the ESRB rolling) Sonic CD for Sega CD

Zelkiiro I thought it was Mortal Kombat that did that. :U Not as much as NT did. Violence+Woman in Nightgown=Bigger Outcry MK did have more violence, and gore, but suggestive adult themes in the order of a sleepover party with a gaggle of nightgown clad women being pulled, groped, and drained of blood despite it being more of a fun parody to low budget B-movies..they thought of this as degrading women.

Earthbound of course.
Grandia II (DC) Galerians for the PS1, not the shitty newer one Harley's Humongous Adventure (SNES) Decap Attack (Genesis) Ranger X (Genesis) Garou: Mark of the Wolves (NeoGeo/XBLA) Virtual On (Saturn) Clockwork Knight (Saturn) NiGHTS Into Dreams (Saturn) Mr. Bones (Saturn) Gundam Battle Assault 2 (PS1) Tomba! (PS1) There was this fighting game on the PS1 also, you created robots and fought other robots. You had two weapons, one on either arm, had different leg types but it wasn't Armored Core. I remember there was a boss up in the ranks called Lips or something. A friend and I spent hours and hours customizing our robots so we could fight each other. ROBO PIT, THAT WAS IT. GO FIND THIS GAME NOW IF YOU CAN ********, IT WAS EXCELLENT.
Edit: Also Wild 9 and Jet Moto

I also thought of this game too. Although, I am not sure if it fits in this post, because I can't remember for the life of me if it was popular.
Samba de Amigo.
Additionally, the original and genuine Sega maracas are hard as hell to get.

Undecidability Anticipation for the NES. GODDAMNIT @Felin'n'Trav: Tomba and Tomba II are still some of my favorite games of all time. <3 @Felin: I used to play the hell out of the Clockwork Knight 2 demo on the Saturn, but could never find the game. :< Also NiGHTS is still pretty much the greatest. Wii sequel didn't do it justice at all.
