{deck the halls} (yay first time RPing Barth, ignore Barty/Barth inconsistencies, I panicked.) childs menu
Claire paused as she enetered the cafeteria. It was so... Bleak. She had to do something about it. When the school was empty, she sneaked out of her dorm and ran to the cafeteria with her bag. It was filled with decorations. First she needed to fancy up the tables. She took out many Christmas-themed tablecloths and carefully placed them on each table. She then got her packet of candy-canes and put them four to a table. For the bigger tables, she put six on each. The walls still looked quite drab, so she put tinsel on each light, put paper link chains from wall to wall and hung baubles on the plant in the corner. It looked alright now, but something was missing... OH YES! The singing elves. Claire grabbed some gnomes and dressed them in elf clothing before teaching them how to sing some carols. She gave them a sheet to remember the songs and let them free into the cafeteria. PERFECT.
Quote: It's not that Barth wasn't festive. He liked holiday food, and decorations. As long as other people were putting them together.
Folks were bustling around with cheer. The thing about cheer was that it very nearly sounded like chore. Nevertheless, Barth had a contribution to make to school spirit.
Specifically: A cheap sticker sheet with tiny gold stars. He added a single star on the cafeteria door, where it looked like someone had been contributing more than stickers. Getsurae With so much excitment in the air, Whisper couldn't help but get into the swing of the holiday cheer. She decided it would be fun to cut out paper links shaped like creatures and ghouls to decorate the trees and halls. She got out her paste and glitter aswell, hoping to make them quite eye catching. Quote: Barth looked carefully at his stickers.
He had another entire sheet, with metallic stickers in rows of blue, green, silver, and red. He wasn't sure he would be able to get through all of them. He had used exactly one sticker so far.
He placed another sticker on one of Whisper's paper ghouls. ...There.
He was practically a decorating machine. Roxy_roxanna2 Sin eyed the hallways curiously, while outside everything was starting to look cheerful in here it was downright dank. She snapped her fingers and pointed at one of her hovering unmentionables.
"Pantaloons! Bring me some...mistletoe" She smirked and crossed her arms as the little critter zipped off to find some. Yes that would liven this place up, all she had to do was place it strategically. She had to put it somewhere unavoidable and then watch the festive fun begin. She smiled as her unmentionable returns with his claws full of the stuff.
"Perfect!" She took the plant and then reached under her dress and did a quick little hop. She handed her panties over to the eager critter and watched as he zoomed away with them. Seems she'd have to go shopping again, ah well. She smirked and moved to quickly start placing the mistletoe above each classroom doorway. Finally she stepped back and grinned nodding with satisfaction.
"A very merry x-mas..."
Quote: There sure was a lot of mistletoe being hung up.
...Mistletoe that clearly needed a sticker.
At least one of them.
They were kind of high.
Barth stuck a star sticker in the general, more-easily-reachable area of the mistletoe. Bilious Christof turned from his own decorating only to come face to face with the morose-looking demon. Directly under the mistletoe. "............" He glowered and quickly stepped away again. No way. But those stickers- they could be useful! Motioning urgently he pointed to the red, foiled Holly-like ones, and then pointed to the frog's noses excitedly. Getsurae When Whisper saw Barty place stickers upon her paper cut outs, she jumped up and down with glee. How wonderful, they looked so pretty! "You should add more stickers everywhere~! They look so wonderful!" She then turned to the voice she had heard, and her eyes lit up like will-o-wisps. "Oh wow! Thanks you so much, they will go so nicely with everything." She gave him a big smile and almost hugged him, though did not for fear of crossing a boundry. "Would you like some glitter? Or perhaps some constuction paper to make some decorations? I've got loooooots of supplies you can use!" Quote: Barty, not being very good at charades, handed Christof the entire colored star sticker sheet. ...He could have at it, as far as Barty was concerned.
Additionally, it meant half of his strenuous sticker workload was someone else's responsibility.
Bilious Christof beamed when handed the stickers, immediately putting one on Barth's forehead as a thank you before turning to see where to put them- when he spotted Deacon's bells, he beamed further, nodding enthusiastically. My goodness this was fun! He'd never done anything like this back home, save for occasionally decorating for Samhain occasionally. Not sure where else to put the stickers, he began dotting the lovely green (if still damp) paint of the walls, leaving a lovely star-motif along the way. WE ARE HALLOWEEN Toshihiko Two WE ARE HALLOWEEN Toshihiko Two Barty looked carefully at his stickers.
He had another entire sheet, with metallic stickers in rows of blue, green, silver, and red. He wasn't sure he would be able to get through all of them. He had used exactly one sticker so far.
He placed another sticker on one of Whisper's paper ghouls. ...There.
He was practically a decorating machine. exclaim While decorating, or really, standing in one spot, Barty seemed to notice a really brilliantly coloured present just standing in front of him. How lucky! Actually it's kind of smoking. He should probably move. (Roll a 6 sided dice while doing so) Barty moved. A little. No need to rush it or anything, though.
Perhaps in another alternate universe, moving a little from a smoking box is considered a genius action. Sadly, the reality check was that This Was Halloween. The box exploded, covering Barty with a fine layer of dust. He probably wouldn't notice anything different. Quote: Barty noticed that his last batch of stickers were now a distinctly unstarry and sooty color.
Nobody particularly wanted sooty stars put everywhere. It was a shame, after all the staggering amounts of decorating he had done, but he'd just have to call it a day and leave the sheet on the floor. Nio Love Riley lurched back upward, with a candle in her hand. Who knows how it got there? Who cares? It was hers now. Stop looking at it like it's yours, because it's not. It's hers. Go away.
She set off navigating the fields of war that was the blotched hallway, intent on a shower, and perhaps later creating a Limbo Club. Rileys Room It had taken quite some time before Riley was able to maneuver her way through the strands of poison ivy and decoration littered hallways. She'd finally managed to get to her own dorm, though she was hesitant to enter. She was still covered in paint, and even though it seemed to be drying for the most part, the idea of leaving red and green stains all over her deliciously black domain irked her. She put her hand on the skeleton knob, but pulled it away - sure enough, the eyes were now filled with globs of red. While it wasn't an entirely unpleasant effect, she knew that was only a hint of what was to come if she stepped forth into her own quarters. So, with a heavy heart, she decided to do something extraordinarily awkward; she was going to undress. In the hallway.
This did not mean she was going to be naked, of course. She had bindings covering everything important, or what at least looked like it might be important to the ignorant eye. She tugged her stained shirt up over her head, and let it hang inside out over her tentacles to keep them covered. Then she kicked off her shoes and let them sit on the floor just outside her door.
This, of course, would be the tricky part. She looked left. She looked right. When she was certain no one was watching, bent over, picked up the hem of her skirt, and folded it up, over and over, until it was the size of a miniskirt and the thickness of wool. She crunched the fabric with one hand to keep it at her upper thigh, and with her other hand she opened the door and hurriedly entered. Once inside, she would head straight to the bathroom and hose herself off, clothing and all.
Nobody had better seen that. Quote: The hallways were a festive wreck. Barth had contributed 3 entire stickers to what was now a portal of glitter, smoke, mistletoe, and insanity, and having done his civic duty of contributing to Christmas fear, he meandered back to the demon dorms for a well-earned nap.
But the demon dorms was really far.
And making it all the way to his room was hard.
And everything in the demon dorm was covered in a variety of expensive and soft materials, including and especially the floor. As the floor loomed closer and closer with each dragging step towards bed and board, Barth promptly gave up and dozed in the hallway. Disguised as an inconspicuous lump of discarded fabric, it was no wonder Riley's later careful survey of the surrounding area yielded deceptive results.
She would not have been the only one surprised at said results, however.
Barth had not been planning to wake up to a disturbingly wriggly expanse of purple and that had also decided to keep growing larger. He didn't move, his half-asleep mind trying to register what he was beholding and how it correlated to the current dimension. Fighting a mounting sense of displacement, he tried to sort the horrors unfolding before him in categories that made despairingly less and less sense.
Then, just when all hope was lost, the confusing phantasmagoria disappeared at an alarming speed, presumably sucked back into whatever temporal blip that had birthed it.
After a last half-hearted struggle for reason, he decided to walk the remaining 5 feet to his dorm room and take a nap somewhere less prone to space-time disruptions.

{ caroling} Quote: Barth had put off and put off and put off getting school supplies. Although he might technically need them, he wasn't actually planning on doing any of the things he needed them for. Time was running out. And singing wasn't so bad. As far as effort went. As long as he didn't have to make a habit of it. It still didn't mean he had to like it. Looking very resentfully at the giant and festive blob, he offered, "Scaroling, Scaroling, friend or foe it's time for hamstringing Scaroling, Scaroling, I dunno, I hate all this singing. Pointless voices, hurts to hear these attempts at getting gear. Too long, this song, that is all you're getting."

The Terror of Cthulhu Cthulhu was free. FREE. FREEEEEEEE. That BIG STUPID THING had left the door open when he carried Riley into her room, and Cthulhu had just barely managed to chew it's way out of it's bars when it heard the click of the door. Within minutes it was roaming the halls of the demon dorms, though it didn't get far. Right next door to Riley's room was a door that looked as though it had recently dealt a blow to it's ability to stay closed. PERFECT. The little terror scrambled into the room, which was blissfully empty. It bounced on every single couch cushion, before finding an odd box with several wires connected to it. Cthulhu immediately started humping the box, which was obviously the only choice, and suddenly the screen in front of it came to life. Cthulhu screeched in terror, scuttling backwards to stay away from the bright screen, but from behind the cushion it had found to hide in, it watched the colors and moving objects fill the screen. After it was sure it wasn't being attacked, it toddled slowly closer, poking at one of the controllers that was connected to the box with it's foot. Things happened. Cthulhu started poking at the buttons randomly, watching how every time it did, something different happened on the screen. This went on for several minutes, and by the time a half hour had passed, one would find the Cthulhu hunched over the controller, beating away at it with a ferocious intensity. It had figured out the code.Later that day, Barth would come home to find his SkeeVee on, his Eii running, and his high score on Scario Kart beaten.
