Shilberu Erikku Pent and Ten Shilberu Erikku Pent and Ten No offence, but I HATE when people post things like this. No one is ever right, and it usually end up being either two people arguing the two sides, or two people increasing the size of their egos by agreeing on the same opinion. Either way, it isn't pretty, spams the forum, and gets nothing accomplished. Well it's the same thing with every thread, so chill. Did this come off as hostile or something? Nah, just annoying. If you have any problems with this thread, feel free to consult Lust's customer service representative team. :3 blaugh Now that came off as hostile....

I'm just taking a scientific approaching saying this kind of thread accomplishes nothing, well that and i'm kinda tired of seeing them.
(by "this kind of thread" i mean ones that asks someone how they can like something)

(by "this kind of thread" i mean ones that asks someone how they can like something) It is clear by the original post that that is not the point of this thread. This thread is meant to explain some of the possible theories as to why some people like what they do/are attracted to what they are.No where does it ask anything to the effect of "How can you like furries? or Why are you attracted to furries?". It is more examining the human mind rather than criticizing someone or their feelings/attractions. I personally find these types of topics to be interesting and thought provoking, and in some instances helpful.

That really seems like a personal problem, as no one else had a problem understanding the point of the thread. If you don't like these types of threads, then don't read them. I don't understand how you were trying to take a "scientific approach" in that these types of threads accomplish nothing. That's called an opinion, a formation of thoughts on a specific situation. Science is the study of something, therefore your excuse, for that's what it is, is moot. It would more accurately be a philosophical approach, and staying with that, it would be no different than what the OP is saying himself.
If anything, it seems that your post accomplished nothing aside from stirring up drama. If that's the case, I recommend doing something productive in order to get attention like, hmm.... I don't know, creating your own thread?

Insatiable Lust Darkfox Soldier You do know being a furry isn't about the sex part right. Recent studies of "furries" have found that the furry identity is based on a combination of parts of their childhood that they idealize, and reactions to negative self images developed during adolescence, which becomes evident in the sexual practices of many furries. Their sexual practices represent an attempt to redefine themselves through the merging of the symbolism of their childhood with sexual empowerment and other desired traits. Most furries believe that their alternate persona is the actual them, even more so than their true persona, which comes from being oppressed and alienate from the "real world". This is why they use their furry alter-ego; to escape into their own world as they see fit. So as you see, a huge part of the furry culture is sexuality. I'm not just talking out my a** either, this is all information I've found researching the topic. A recent poll of furries concluded that 79% have a fetish for the sexual part of being a furry, which refers to yiff. Yiff is believed to be the sound an arctic fox makes when mating, and thus has been used to express sexual arousal and label furry porn.
Thanks for the info Lust, I actually learned something today! And YIFF is also an acronym stands for Your In For Furry! :3

I'm here to educate. Yiff could literally stand for anything as an acronym. I just thought of an excellent insult using it, but I will not post it as it's pretty harsh lol.

Insatiable Lust Shilberu Erikku But of course, we can't rule out....•...good old fashioned zoophilia. 9/10 times it's this. Of course I think some furry avies are cute, especially in Second Life, but in a "Aww look, it's a kitty!" kind of way not a, "OMFG, it's a cat boy!! *fap fap fap fap fap*" which is what most of the furies I come across see. That's where the yiff term comes from, which I didn't know what it was until recently and I'd rather not go into detail at all other than saying DO NOT GOOGLE IT.
Aw crap. neutral Curiosity got the best of me.

Shilberu Erikku Here are some theories as to why: •It's pretty easy to tell that some cartoon animals were drawn to be attractive. It's obvious the animators wanted Lola Bunny from the movie "Space Jam" to be attractive. It's also obvious that the developers at Rare wanted Krystal from the Star Fox games to be attractive. In fact, the character is so popular that it spawned the popular internet phrase: "Dude, it's okay - everyone's furry for Krystal." Most attractive furries were designed to be attractive. •Some kids grow up having crushes on cartoon characters, and not all of those characters are human. Sometimes they're animals; to a child, there may be no real difference between human and animal cartoon characters. If it can walk and talk, then to a kid, it's pretty much human. As the child matures and reaches puberty, it's possible that the attraction one feels towards cartoon characters, animal or otherwise, will not diminish, but rather, intensify. That same attraction can naturally mature from "puppy love" to an honest sexual curiosity and attraction. It's pretty natural when you think about it. •Furries are, by definition, animals with human like qualities. I can't believe how many people tend to overlook this fact, but it's usually the human attributes that people find attractive in a furry. Whether it's the eyes, or the figure, or the breasts/legs, whatever - it's generally the human anatomy that people are attracted to. It may also be the cuteness factor, if you find cute things/people to be attractive. But of course, we can't rule out....•...good old fashioned zoophilia.
I'm not really into Furries. But I've never really understood them. This helped, thanks. 4laugh
