The Omega

Another day of pointless missions.... Nyx thought to herself as she brushed out her hair, put it up in a ponytail and headed to her door. Setting the brush on the table next to the door, Nyx took one last look at herself in the mirror, lightly bringing her fingers to her right eye, which was dark and slightly puffy. She had received her lovely black eye from Alpha, of course it was only what was left of a far worse beating. She had spoken out of turn to protest how he was handling a mission and he had beat her within an inch of her life. Had Nyx fought back, she probably would have faired better, but the girl never fought back. It was better to just take the beating and take some time to recover so she didn't have to go on missions where she would have to kill people. Of course, the dark bruise was a nice compliment to her blood red eyes. They had been like that since birth. Merely a small defect when she was originally created, but it didn't help with the image of her being a soulless monster.

With a deep sigh, Nyx opened her door and walked down to the main room where her counterparts had yet to gather to receive their latest mission. Nyx had been recovering from the beating from Alpha for a while, however yesterday her handler informed the Epsilon Corporation that she was fit to resume missions, so Nyx had no choice. She took a seat at the table, making sure to stay far away from Alpha's seat, knowing much better than to do anything to make him angry, though she also knew in the back of her mind that she would make him angry sometime today anyway. The Delta system decided to occupy this small amount of free time to make sure her artificial limb wasn't broken in any way. She balled her hand into a fist a few times and then touched the ends of her fingers to her thumb one by one, then turned her arm over for a quick inspection of the whole thing. Seeming satisfied, Nyx folded her arms across her chest and then closed her eyes while she waited for her 'siblings'.

Serrenedy's crystal eyes snapped open, something was wrong. She needed to see her 'sister' Alpha had killed her and...wait, that was a nightmare. She blinked once as she looked around her room. Alpha wasn't in here, there was no reason to worry. With a yawn, she flung her legs over the side of her bed and moved mechanically to her vanity. Though it took some time, she was able to pull her overly long hair into some sort of respectable high ponytail.She threw on a pair of pants and and a shirt. finally, she slipped her feet into her shoes and headed out the kitchen. She talked as she walked. "Not even Alpha...he wouldn't dare...no, he wouldn't because then I'd kill him for her. He knows how I" Her self rambling was cut short as she entered the dining room. She gave a curt nod to herself at the sight of Nyx playing with her hand at the table. "Don't do that" She said once. "Playing at the table, even alone is not very becoming...and once more, it is against regulation." She sat across from her sister. "I trust you are properly healed if you have sustained the energy to thumb the rules?" This odd sentence was it's own answer in a question that tried to be sarcastic. She did manage a human enough smile to the sister in question.

As Serrenedy walked in, Nyx looked up, only to roll her eyes at the girl's comment. "I wasn't playing with it. I was making sure it still functioned properly. The fact that I'm slowed down enough with a prosthetic is enough reason to at least make sure it is working as it is supposed to." She replied with a dry look. Beta didn't scare her, not like Alpha did anyways. Even though Omega had a hard time listening to Alpha, it was him, her handler, or the CEO of Epsilon that she would listening to, and only those three. "I'm aware of my manners, but while Alpha and no one of importance are here, I will do as I please and go by my own personal protocol." Nyx told Serrenedy as she leaned back in her chair.

Ashes everywhere
One day or another

Ashes grinned as she pulled out one of her latest designs to test. She brought it up to her firing range she had set up, her eyes peering about for the leader. Ah, well, no sign of them yet. Might as well test her out without the leader. The girl brought the sight to her eyes, firing at the target. A bullet of fire sprang out of the gun, hitting the target dead center and burning right through it. "Burn baby burn." She commented with a grin. "Perfection." She blew lightly on the barrel to cool it slightly.

Ashes put away the fiery gun in her stash, ready to be shown to the leader - when they came by, that is. Her eyes spotted a lazing male, and she glared at him. In a strong, but very feminine, voice, she yelled at him. "Either you get up now, or you join me for target practice. Your choice." He jumped up, hurrying away. Most knew better than to get on Ashes bad side - she needed people to help her test weapons, and several of them exploded when they were first fired. "That's what I thought. Lazy male." She commented, rolling her eyes at him. Her fingers tapped her gun counter top, and she entertained which gun she would actually carry with her.

And I want to be a part of that fire.

Delta Systems Specialist


Amaya was going over a few figures from the last mission as she walked the long corridors of the Resistance's new base. They had only been there four years so far, but it was better than staying at their last base that the Delta systems destroyed, considering it would be suicide to do so. The Epsilon Corporation still did not have any idea where the new base was, and using her knowledge of the Delta systems, Amaya planned to help keep it that way. If the correct electrical frequencies were used outside the resistance hideout, Nyx's powers would be blocked and Beta would be unable to detect it with her skills, as great as they were.

Amaya had no desire to see a repeat of what happened four years ago, and she was determined to help stop the Epsilon Corporation by any means necessary. It seemed no one else was quite up yet, and if they were, they were being pretty quiet. Still, it didn't seem to bother Amaya too much as she made her way to the main room, still keeping her nose buried in her notes, trying to see what else she could uncover.

The smile fell from her lips as Nyx spoke back to her. The young woman straitened. "It would be in your benefit to remember that if anything were to happen to Alpha, I am next in line" She scowled at the girl across from her. "I was merely attempting early morning conversation, as normal humans do. An if your arm were damaged, I believe I ought to be the first to know. I did help design it did I not?" She gave a gruff huff and urned to the door as if wishing for a brother to save her from this akward moment

"It's not like you to try and take on a normal human activity. Much less to even suggest something may happen to Alpha." Nyx said calmly. Beta seemed...annoyed..if that was the correct emotion Nyx was thinking of. "Even if you designed it, I still find it necessary to ensure that it is in working order. Freak accidents can and have happened before." She reminded her softly as she too turned to the door. "You know they're notorious for being late, staring at the door won't make them arrive any faster."

Serrenedy nodded. "I am aware of this fact." She nodded and looked back to Nyx. "I will admit, I am acting unlike myself, it is for...worry?" She stopped to contemplate and analyze the emotion before nodding. "Yes, worry. Alpha worried me to the state of your physical and emotional health. I am unfortunately not immune to the mind's tricks known as 'nightmares'. One had awakened me about your condition. As you enjoy the humans I only sought to alleviate the misplaced fear in my heart by humoring your obsession...the results of such an experiment are disastrous." She could not help giving a small chuckle at herself for the off calculations, emotions were the only variables that she could never truly get mad at herself over not getting

Shrugging slightly, Nyx returned her gaze to Serrenedy. "Understanding humans and reading them is what I was designed to do. I can't help it if I find the creatures fascinating. Occasionally that does lead me to trouble because I see the worth that Alpha fails to see in humans, but he was designed to complete missions on any cost. The fact that I was created to understand emotion better than you three is an unfortunate thing for me that I cannot control." She told the Beta. "All I can do is attempt to do as ordered until my designed nature gets in the way and I get myself into trouble. It is no different than you would are with technology."

"Truthful" The woman hummed. "I also can not help but think you are lonely because of this. It is not your fault how yow are programmed and..." She trailed off and looked at the door carefully once before shifting her sight back to her 'sister'. "Off the record" She whispered conspiratorially "Alpha sight is clouded by his directives and his handler is no better. I oft have to take discipline into my own hands I do not believe he is well." She straightened and looked to the door again even as she said it, as if in fear Alpha would suddenly appear. But he did no such thing, and her stance relaxed as much as she ever allowed it to.

"My loneliness is not relevant. We were not designed as the social ones. It is Gamma's nature to be social and know social cues." Nyx said, watching Beta. It was an interesting thing, to compare the Delta Systems to humans, they were similar, until emotion came into play. Then the Delta systems were vastly different. "As long as Alpha passes the minimum requirements of physical health, he leads and goes on missions. However your fear of his knowing what you just said is understandable. Alpha is violent and he does not like to be questioned in his authority. Years of punishment and loss of limbs should have burned that lesson into my head but due to my nature, I cannot stay silent."
