The Night was lit with lightening streaking over head. Heavy dark clouds blanketed the sky in a torrent of a down pour. Rain poured down the roof in beats matched with steady beating of foot steppes beating against the tiles. A number of figures raced across one ahead of the others. There was no sign of tiring from the chased. Amber eyes lit in the night as a clash of lightening spread across the sky. A face strong profile was shadowed against a brick wall in passing. Soon the roofs of leap able buildings came to an end as a sky scrapper loomed. As the chased came to a stop he turned to face his poseurs. The white alabaster mask of immortality blanketed the man’s skin. His hair was wet and plastered to his skin dripping water.

“There’s nowhere to go Gaven! “ Another vampire shouted ready to kill one of its own.” I’ll bleed you dry for what you did. “

“Pray tell what that was? I can’t recall …” Gaven replied his eyes scanning the group before him. There were far too many for him to handle on his own .A vampire was indestructible by only so much. “It’s dangerous to be up here. Any of us could combust with this lightening. I’d warn you that you might catch your death up here, but we’ve already caught that. Tell me what did, I do to anger you? “
“ You- “ The other vampire started as Gaven slipped on the ledge he had been balancing on before slipping off almost what looked like carelessness, but no vampire was careless to where they planted their feet. It was purely intentional as Gaven was their one minute and gone the next.

It had seemed like a good idea at first, but plummeting from a twenty story building now seemed like the easy way out, but the most damaging. His body struck the side of the building with a bone cracking sound. He hit the traffic down below next. Smashing into the cab of taxi and rolling down the back. Gaven tried to get to his feet but was quickly taken down again by city bus. He remained flat against the ground as the vehicle ran over head. Instead of bothering to get up the vampire rolled to the side till he was against the curb. There he lay for a moment as his speedy healing went to work.

Proper flapped his wings, exausted already even though he had rested in Boston. The storm was making winds that made it hard for him to stay airborn. The lightning flashed, lighting up his slim frame and turning the silverish feathers of his wings pink and blue. He was sweating as he tried not to spear himself on the skyscrapers when he noticed a group of pale figures on the rooftop not far off. When he saw one figure drop to the ground 20 floors below, he again decided that now was the time to do what he best. Meddle. Tucking his wings, he dove down towards the figures. As he closed in he could tell they were vampires. He pulled out and hovered at the edge of the building. The lightining flashed, his wings blazed white in response.

" Hey boys, now here i am, flying over this monument to bird death and i see you guys trailing a guy. Im inclined to know why."

Blue sparks leapt from his finger as he crossed his arms, marking as a warlock as effectively as his wings. He raised his eyebrows at them.

The leader of the small band of vampires stepped forward. He bared his teeth with a inhuman growl low in his throat. "Inclind? you are inclined to nothing. You have no right to know of our buisness. " Said the elder vampire his eyes fixed on the Warlock. " We are done here....That Fool jumped on his own accord. " He said walking away from the warlock. " Have a good evening warlock stay out of our affairs from now on. "

Gaven rose from his bed maid in the gutter. He ran his hands through is hair to free it from flith that it had picked up along the way." Trie Mal " He hissed looking at the state his clothing was in with a sighed. Gaven looked up at the sky scraper it seemed he had escaped a worse fate.

For a moment Proper was silent, then he doubled over in midair, peals of laughter bouncing off the walls of the buildings.

"me? stop meddling? now thats laughable!" he lost altitude from laughing and had to flap his wings to get back up, alighting on the edge. " I think we'll be seeing more of each other soon." He said as he took to the air again.
He flapped quickly to slow his descent. He landed on the street, bending his knees to absorb the fall. He quickly looked around, their was no mundane in sight so he didnt bother to glamour himself. He felt oddly naked for a moment. Back home, even at night people were running around on the streets. He calmly looked walked over to the vampire lying in the gutter. He stooped over, his wings folded behind him.
"Need a hand?" He said, acting like he hadnt seen the undead jump off a building. He extended his hand to him.

Gaven shook his head “ I’m just fine…” he replied to the warlock. “ I tend to find laying in the gutter the best time for personal reflection. “ The vampire replied looking past him. “ J’suis Gaverocoh des Luxintri. Tut as pelle common? Bonjour commo cava mon ami ? “ Gaven asked closing his eyes. “ Of course you would not understand a word of that . “ he admitted taking the hand of the warlock and getting up.

The young warlock smiled, his teeth looking silver in the light fromt the streetlamps.
"im afraid not. I dont speak french. Im Proper, by the way, Proper Knight, High Warlock of Phoenix. Its very nice to meet you." He said, holding out his hand again to shake hands this time though. He looked up at the building hovering above them.
" So whats the situation? Usually vampires dont go after their own. All that, pack mentality stuff. And they say their nothing like werewolves." Proper had a calm yet cheerful voice. His eyes kept flickering around their surroundings. He pulled at his formal-looking blue suede vest. Then he tugged on his plain grey scarf. He looked cold.

“That would be the norm…” Gaven doubt the vampires that had chased him were going to come looking for him. His mind was getting out of the rain now “Their just sour over something, I took and someone that, I killed. “ He replied brushing himself off. “If you’ll excuse me someone is waiting for me…oh and I’m Gavrocoh Des Luxintri of the house of Luxemburg.”

Gaven eye's narrowed on proper wondering where such a strange warlock had fallen out of the sky from. He cracked a smile and chuckled " We’ll if you’re going to help a damsel in distress” The vampire mocked drawing closer to the warlock suddenly. His breath on Proper’s neck to mess with him unnecessary air in his lung “Please be gental with me….and by all means, I’m not that sort of girl “Gaven said with a wink. “ I can lift my own skirts up and everything …but if you insist on carrying me like a bride, .How could, I refuse? “He teased thinking the warlock would get the hint he didn’t need any help

Proper immediately blushed deeply, looking cornered. He raised his arms defensively. His wings came out into their full span. 10 feet each, the glinted like silver. Then Proper lowered his arms. His wings folded halfway, but didnt fold completely.
" I...I...well...*sigh*...it would be very unhelpful of me to leave a wanted man alone in the streets." Proper felt very embarressed, that naked feeling rising again, wishing now he had glamoured himself.

" Here ,I thought ,I was going to get lucky tonight what a waste of energy" Gaverocoh joked putting his hands in his pockets. " I diden't ask for your help ,but thanks for the thought" The vampire said as he started to head down the side walk " Have a good night my sisters waiting "

Proper went after him, rain shaking off him as he rushed to catch up. He started walking next to Gaven, a smile turning up a corner of his mouth and his eyebrow raised.
" Again, your not getting rid of me that easy. I feel honor bound to escort a young maiden like yourself to safety." He said, a mishievous glint in his eyes. " Besides, im flying in a storm and i just happen to see you? that is what we good people out west call, fate."

" Fate...I know nothing of fate ,but of time" The vampire said keeping his eyes ahead and ignoring the warlocks preasents beside him. " You should have your wings clipped..." Gaven turned down an ally making his way towards Time square. " You just happend come by when,I was falling off a roof....you did nothing to save me from the plumet ...what a horriable hero you make. To think you could have spaired me a broken arms and ribcage. "

When they drew closer to an apartment building gaven headed to the side pulling down a fire escape near a dumpster. " I'm home safe ...you may go now "

Proper glared at Gaven for the remark about his wings, but said nothing. As they arrived at the apartment complex, Proper shook his head, baffled by the building arangements this far east.
" Well, i shall be going as well, i have business with the nephilim. If you ever need a lift, give me a call." He winked and took off, kicking up dirt and dust in the process. He circled a couple times and then headed in the general direction of the Institute.

Gaverocoh shook his head watching the warlock take off. A window opened up on the fire escape " Who was that ? " came a light female voice. Gaven looked to the window there stood his sister Pale skin like a china doll. Her hair hung in loose waves about her shoulders and framing her face. It was a pale sandy blond. Her eye were deep sphere's of amber like her brothers gazing after the winged creature. " A warlock thinking he was doing me a favor.Antoinette out of the window let me in. " He said darwing into the dark apartment that was lit by burning lamps.

Antoinette drew back then shut the window behind her brother locking it. " Your soaked..." She said giving a frown watching him track water into the house.

" Draw the curtians " Gaven instructed as his sister did so drawing heavy black curtians infront of the window. " Did you catch anything?"

Antionette gave a mischvious smile " Yes fresh to...still warm" She told her brother taking his hand and pulling him toward a spare bedroom. There inside layed the body of a human sprawled out on the bed. " He was working at the supermarket pushing carts. I told him ,I was new to the neigborhood. He beileved ,I was lost...so he helped me get home. Then..." A laugh escaped antionettes lips. " Then ....as a thank you ,I broke his neck"

" haven't had any then ?" Gaven asked exsamening the neck of their supper. No puncture wounds had been left. " come on drink up. I'll go out and take care of the body afterward. "

Antoinette nodded tucking her pale hair behind her ear and smiling her fangs in full sight. She leaned down bitting into the neck of their supper her brother bitting into he otherside.

The body of the human was quickly drained of its blood. When they had finished Gaverocoh took the body out of the apartment and delt away with it. Antoinette sat infront of a fireplace and burned thir victumes ID and anything that could be used to condemn them both. " There once ...was a boy that lived down the lane. He came to my house and I had him slain....lain out on a pire to die no body knew why how he died." Antoinette said watching a drivers licence catch fire.

" Morbid Antoi " Gaven told his sister as he came back through the window having delt with the body. " We'll leave this apartment in a few days Ma cher. Then we'll have new prey. "

" And the shadowhunters?" Antoinetted asked " They haven't come round yet ...but what will we do when they do ? " she asked curous.

" We'll leave like we always have. You one way and I the other to meet back up later." Gaven said as he sat down on the couch watching his sister stook the fire.
