Wilson actually felt disappointed he wouldn’t be receiving the answer to his question. Would it be a type of kung fu he could look up back at the island, or was it some type of martial arts known only to denizens of Halloween? Curious, curious. He found it necessary to ask, “Come again?” The amusement was evident in his voice.

“Just my weapon. That’s all.” It was probably better to be vague on the details. Giving the thing too much information didn’t sound like a great idea, after all. It was satisfying to know these creatures didn’t overpower him, or at least, he could overpower them if he tried hard enough. Smiling and completely unaffected by the dissipating gas, he walked over and kicked Yin in the side. “So what kind of kung fu was it?”

"Táng láng," he replied, twisting so that the blow to his side was only a light one. "I grew up learning it." There was really nothing else that he needed to say to the boil, because there was one detail that he needed to be focusing on. This boil was trying to steal his prey.

He lashed out with his hand to deliver a punishing...slap. He hit the boil's arm striking swiftly and bringing his hand back into a defensive position. He glanced at the cannons on the boil's arm. "And what style of fighting do you call that? It does not seem very...competitive."

“Táng láng.” He filed the name away into the back of his mind so he could search it up later. Hopefully Wilson wouldn’t butcher the spelling, but it sounded Chinese, so he figured he wouldn’t have too difficult of a time finding results if the name existed in the human world.

The mantis monster reached out and slapped—slapped?! Wilson had to doublecheck this because…what—him in the arm. He took a step back, arms raised in defense. “Style? It’s not exactly a style,” he admitted, aiming one of his cannons at Yin’s face and letting out a smaller cloud of gas. While it wasn’t as noxious and effective as the previous attack, at least it did something.

Hm, the boil seemed to actually have gotten the name right, which was actually fairly impressive. Yin briefly pondered if the boil would be able to correctly pronounce his own name, which was part of his undoing as a smaller cloud of gas attacked.

Having gas problems was not what Yin wanted to die of, and he quickly backed off, trying take in some clean air, though the gas had certainly affected him. He then stepped in quickly, aiming another stinging slap at the exact same place on the boil's arm as before then backing up a bit, trying to gain some distance. The range on that weapon was not good in such a small room, perhaps he should just try to snatch his prey and get out.

Then again, Yin was not the sort to run away from a fight.

For your information, Yin, Wilson would have definitely pronounced your name right (unlike his player).

The mantis creature backed off, which only made Wilson walk closer to him in return. Apparently it hadn’t been the wisest course of action, since Yin stepped forward and delivered another slap to his arm. “What the—“ The trainee attempted to touch the spot Yin had hit, but his weapon made it quite difficult to do so. Wilson eyed Yin. Clearly, neither of them was going to back down. Well, he had accumulated the charges. Why not?

[Do it.] Gramps seemed excited at the prospect, snorting and neighing. [DO IT NOW.] Obligingly, Wilson aimed his cannons and delivered the final blow, emitting what appeared to be an endless stream of green.

Yin attempted to back away from the cloud of green but it just kept flowing out of the cannons, a constant stream of gas that he could not escape. He tried not to breathe but could not hold his breath long enough and when he was forced to take a breath it began to fill his lungs, choking him with impure air.

He had to get out, this was not running from a fight, because there was nothing to fight really. The gas had no form and he could not even make out where the other boil was by this point. He stumbled back until his foot hit the wall and began feeling for the door, hand closing on the door knob which he opened, stumbling into the hallway and dropping to his knees as he began sucking in clean air to fill his lungs, though he coughed with every exhale. Whatever that was...he did not want to encounter it again. Belatedly he realized that he had left his prey in the other room.

Unlike Yin, Wilson had no trouble standing within the blanket of green gas. Amused with its troubles, the trainee grinned behind the mask and did not step forward to follow after the monster as he heard it step, the floorboards creaking with each move. After a while he heard claws scramble against wood until the door opened, releasing the permeating gas. The clicked his tongue disappointedly. Darn. But at least that charged attack appeared to deal a significant amount of damage to Yin. He stepped forward, but something brushed against his leg. When Wilson glanced down he spotted the green mutt from earlier, curiously leaning against his boots.

Another smile. Despite it hailing from Halloween, it was kind of cute. Maybe it was just the mask (it was definitely the mask). Wilson would have scooped it into his arms, but his hands were tied up at the moment. “Come on.” He followed after Yin, roughly kicking the mantis boy in the side.

Though Yin had made it out of the room the gas had still done his work. He could not push himself up, and in fact trying to used up his remaining strength. He looked up as the other boil finally emerged, noting that his prey seemed to be trailing along. But he simply did not have the energy to go for the creature.

Then he saw the movement of boil. He recognized that movement even as the kick came at him. He tried to move, to protect himself, but could not even lessen the blow aimed at him. What was the other boil doing? The fight was obviously over. He had won. He tried to say as much but all that came out was a weak cough as he leaned forward onto his hands, trying to hold himself up at the very least.

Sure, Wilson had clearly won, but there was something about Halloween denizens that he didn't like. It might even be safe to say that he loathed them. Besides, he could practically hear Caelius' voice ringing in his head, telling him to finish it off. Letting the thing escape would be too soft, is what Caelius would probably say, or maybe Wilson was just rationalizing his actions. He kicked Yin again.

[[ rolled again with permission! <3 ]]

Wilson didn't even give poor Yin time to react when again he aimed a cannon at it and let out another round of gas. Gramps was kind of fickle at times. Sometimes he could cause a lot of damage and sometimes he didn't. Most of the time he didn't, but this time the weapon came through for Wilson when he really wanted it. Perhaps they had secretly shared the same goal in mind today. His weapon glowed as he received a second charge and the catoblepas screamed for another round, but Wilson shook his head. No. It was done.

It was done as the gas began choking the mantodae, until his throat closed off and he couldn't breath and then it just kept pouring over him until finally, finally he dissipated, though all he could do as he lost consciousness was stare at the other boil, confused. Why was he doing this? There was something maybe a bit familiar about his coat, but...why?
