[....Students start Hogwarts at the age of eleven. Well, ten if their birthday is later in the year. So first years tend to be ten to eleven. Second years eleven to twelve years old.

Edit: I meant the years! When you based it off what I had, you put 1998 and 1999. If it was 2012, that would put them at the age of 14 and 13.]
