Cady liked mornings. This was generally because when she was awake for them, she got to have an extra meal. Breakfast was a magical, wonderful thing. She was pretty sure it was literally the best invention ever. I mean, who WOULDN'T wake up to get to eat food?
Unfortunately, having an exam at 10am meant that her breakfast was cut woefully short. She trotted down the halls of Amity, stomach growling like a caged tiger. She hoped that whatever they ended up doing, it didn't involve WORDS or READING. She wasn't familiar with the name of the examiner. Cady wondered what this Malcolm had in store for them- she couldn't remember having had any of his classes. Maybe she'd slept through them. She arrived at classroom 13 shortly after the other students, and filed into the portal a little behind- to emerge into a large, outdoor corral.
But before she could even get starry eyed and imagine some sort of amazing magical rodeo adventure, they were handed a pair of boots, and a bucket. She glanced at the boots, and out at the field. "Ohhhh, are those minipet pies? You know, those aren't actually pies, those are poop, I tried to eat one once and it was AWFU-" she was promptly cut off as the professor explained their objective. Wow, this was WAY EASIER than a written exam! Cady's heart sang with excitement.
And then she looked into her bucket and saw candy.
It took five pieces of the stuff for her to realize that it dissolved into FEAR before even reaching her tongue. She flattened her ears against her skull, and stomped barefoot through the minipet pies, leaving the boots behind, toward a hilly, rockier region.
Maybe she could eat the minipets.

Cady located one last bowl...right under a spindly little tree, at the top of a very tall, rocky hill-cliff. Every branch of the thing was COVERED in Carry Ons.
They watched her approach, suspiciously gleeful, but she ignored most of them. No, there was one Carry On in particular that she eyed with suspicion and possibly a tiny bit of hatred. The serial Pooper On.
It just looked right back, grinning somewhat dopeily and maniacally. But Cady kept on coming, bucket handle between her teeth, scrabbling hand and foot over the sharp rocks that lead to the top of the small edifice to bird kind. She would prevail, she would -
Oh dear why was it staring like that.
The answer, unfortunately, became rather readily apparent as she reached the summit. The entire rocky outcropping, she would find as she pulled her way up to the slick expanse, was COVERED in what their professor had deemed 'Undesireables'. It took Cady a second to gain her footing, sliding ungracefully through the stuff with a horrified expression on her face. As she got to her feet, significantly poopier than before...
They locked eyes one last time.
She threw an obligatory handful of the FEAR candy into the bowl. Then, watching her audience as it followed her every move- she swallowed the rest of the treats, bucket and all.
That would show them.

Despite the fact that there was now minipet poo all over the area, and the fact that one of his students might had just insulted his minipets and then took back the insult, he was pretty pleased with what he saw - minus the poo, and poo-covered student anyway. Pepin had helped Gene, which was the only reason he was letting her little insult slip, and giving her a pass.
"Congratulations, knobs," He smiled and presented each of them with his pin, "This is to prove that you passed this exam. However, Gene, I suggest you keep your anger and frustration in check in the future," Or you might end up like a certain school drop-out, "Since Pepin had decided to help you, and you were doing pretty well on your own before, you passed as well. However, I will not be this lenient next time."
The students were then ushered back through the portal, and back into Classroom 13 where they were dismissed. Professor Malcolm, on the other hand, had already vanished.
